This was probably one of the most shocking and saddest episodes for me. I can honestly say that I was both cheering for Naruto and wanting him to stop when he transformed and fought Pain.
Here's one thing about this scene I was pointing out at the time (the moment this chapter of manga came out) and literally nobody believed me. * When Naruto unleashed Kyuubi in Sakura's presence, he hit her. She got hurt. *When he unleashed Kyuubi here, very close to Hinata, he unconciously resticted Kyuubi from harming her in any way. He founght Pain in Kyuubi form, unaware of the surroundings, and yet still Hinata wasn't caught in crossfire. We know she wasn't resurrected because when Naruto regained his senses, he instantly checked whether Hinata is safe. And she was alive.
She went to sacrifice herself for him twice. Once I saw that, I knew kishimoto was going to put them together. Lol I also completely forgot that she knew of Kurama from young and didn't give a shit. Lol
The biggest issue I have with this show is that they had Hinata confess her feelings for Naruto here, and then did NOTHING with it for ages. I was here hoping we would get to see something start between them and grow throughout the show, not have to wait until the end xD
Ill tell you why nothing happened, cuz naruto was originally supposed to end after the pain fight, pretty much everything is solved after the fight, no madara no obito, no war, sasuke would kill itachi he would never have been a hero, naruto became the hero of the village and eventually hokage, but greedy people insisted kishimoto write more so he had to think of something. So if you wondering why nothing happened, its bcs kishi was saving that for the finale of the show and since it continued for another 300 episodes he couldnt do it yet.
Kishimoto stated at one point that he wanted to have a scene between Naruto and Hinata after the Pain Arc, but due to time constraints and his editor going against it, he didn't. He had to keep the story moving.
Out of the entire naruto series this fight with pain was THE best. Can't believe it took Naruto so long to find out Hinatas feelings when she blatantly said she loves him right there lol

Hinata is one of very few characters that really impacted both main story and Naruto which directly made story progress. That's why she is one of best side character in Naruto. She really changed the game here for both ninja world and Konoha here by potential sacrifice of her which in end lead to kurama to shit on pain and then Naruto ending the game. But it's sad how no one came to save Naruto in his lowest. If planned, they could have found some way to free Naruto. Many ppl could have attacked Pain and could have found opportunity to do the former thing but nah they are idiots. Somehow i feel like Konoha is really lucky to have hokages and Ninja like Jiraya to save their lazy asses. Like how you can't even find a way to ambush pain during fight to help your guy with long distance attacks. That’s what I love about Nagato, he makes the audience ambivalent about what “Justice” is. The hidden leaf wasn’t always dignified in the past, such as the destruction of the hidden rain. Obviously pain is an antagonist in the story, but the show displays how villains are bred, and that’s what makes Nagato’s backstory so likeable. It’s because it draws a parallel to Naruto, he could’ve became just like him. However, it was changed by both his philosophy and the influence of Masada (Obito). Such a good anime 10/10

Hinata went from timid character to my favorite female character in the series, though she doesn't have that much screentime. It's obvious that she likes Naruto from the start and does not even hesitate to fight for him.

Ill tell you why nothing happened, cuz naruto was originally supposed to end after the pain fight, pretty much everything is solved after the fight, no madara no obito, no war, sasuke would kill itachi he would never have been a hero, naruto became the hero of the village and eventually hokage, but greedy people insisted kishimoto write more so he had to think of something. So if you wondering why nothing happened, its bcs kishi was saving that for the finale of the show and since it continued for another 300 episodes he couldnt do it yet.
Kishimoto stated at one point that he wanted to have a scene between Naruto and Hinata after the Pain Arc, but due to time constraints and his editor going against it, he didn't. He had to keep the story moving.

Hinata is one of very few characters that really impacted both main story and Naruto which directly made story progress. That's why she is one of best side character in Naruto.
She really changed the game here for both ninja world and Konoha here by potential sacrifice of her which in end lead to kurama to shit on pain and then Naruto ending the game.
But it's sad how no one came to save Naruto in his lowest. If planned, they could have found some way to free Naruto. Many ppl could have attacked Pain and could have found opportunity to do the former thing but nah they are idiots.
Somehow i feel like Konoha is really lucky to have hokages and Ninja like Jiraya to save their lazy asses. Like how you can't even find a way to ambush pain during fight to help your guy with long distance attacks.

Hinata was nothing but a plot armor so naruto could defeat AGAIN an enemy he can't win against by having the oh mighty fox appear and win for him. IT changed nothing lol half of the fitting ninja were dead, the other half was trying to not die and the one still alive were helping the civilians. None of them had any opportunity against Pain, and this does not happen in the manga, the anime made it look like hinata actually did nothing when in reality she gets one shot by pain lol and not even her love confession impacted in any way bc naruto never cared about her confession he even introduced SAKURA as his GIRLFRIEND to his dead father lol

That’s what I love about Nagato, he makes the audience ambivalent about what “Justice” is. The hidden leaf wasn’t always dignified in the past, such as the destruction of the hidden rain. Obviously pain is an antagonist in the story, but the show displays how villains are bred, and that’s what makes Nagato’s backstory so likeable. It’s because it draws a parallel to Naruto, he could’ve became just like him. However, it was changed by both his philosophy and the influence of Masada (Obito). Such a good anime 10/10
