    NEVER use Fabric softeners for towels, sheets and gym clothes! They line your fabric with wax like material to make it soft..decreases absorbing capacity.

      He lost me with adding fabric softener.. that's adding wax to the towels. Yuck!!

      Use vinegar!!!

  • @e.feller1801
    @e.feller1801 4 ปีที่แล้ว +19

    I’ve heard that adding fabric softener makes towels less absorbent over time.

    • @erikal5218
      @erikal5218 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It does. It builds up....... Vinegar is an excellent option for softening towels tho, and instead of leaving a residue, it actually works to strip any residue.
      That said, NEVER mix bleach and vinegar. :)

    • @volcrazy89
      @volcrazy89 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You shouldn't, but honestly fabric softener as a whole is problematic. It causes a waxy buildup on your clothes -- making them less breathable -- and machine.

      i love my towels extra rough and scratchy. i find soft towels dont dry as well. so i usually wash my towels with a Bio, and then throw them in the sun for a few hours.

    Thank you for this. The LG all in one does not have a separate compartment for bleach so I was wondering where I should put it. I guessed the first time and and put it in the main compartment same as you. Do you have a way you wash sheets so they don't come out all wrinkled? Also, I didn't know about the extra water feature! I don't think the manual mentions that button. These machines come with crappy instructions.

    lg specifically told me to not use regular bleach only color safe bleach or it can degrade the tubes and plastic. also to not mix powder detergent with liquid. so if you use powder detergent use powder color safe bleach and vice versa. so try this at your own risk to your machine

    never add bleach to detergent, there are seperate sections for bleach, detergent and fabric softener.

    • @erikal5218
      @erikal5218 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      This.....
      Bleach is somewhat carelessly sold off the supermarket shelves, which I think gives the impression that it “can’t be that bad”, but it can.... easily.
      It really doesn’t mix with anything, safely.... some things are safer than others to mix with it, but like vinegar for instance, creates a highly toxic gas...
      The machine has a separate bleach compartment, specifically so it dispenses at the safe and appropriate time.
      I actually stopped using bleach altogether, myself...... I’m getting excellent results with bright whites, going back and forth between a boost of “BIZ” in one wash, and a boost of “Oxy Clean” in the next. Oxy Clean most definitely works best in hot water, but whites come brighter in hot water, period.
