    Hi Tech2c,
Thank you for the review. I’m getting into drone flying and fpv. My question is: when running the runcam 2 with fpv out to a 5.8 ghz transmitter, can I control options via the WiFi app? Such as take a still shot while in the air or am I stuck with continuous recording while in the air? If possible is there an action camera you can recommend that is capable of this option if the runcam 2 isn’t?

+Tech2C you should build a peon pro with 2206 2350kv motors from lumineer kiss 24 escs a kiss fc and a runcam swift team blacksheep unify pro and 5x4x3 props on a 1300 4s

I'm using RCX 2633kv motors with ZTW 20a ESCs. I'm sticking with 3s as my camera and vtx require 12v (I don't want to add a 12v bec). Dinogy 1300mah 3s 65c batteries and 5x3 props for efficiency. With this setup I get 6 minutes flight time. If I step up prop size I'll lose flight time which I think 6 minutes is short enough. I don't race, however with this power system it screams and is fast enough for proximity and general park flying :P

It did exceptionally well. I don't remember if you said but Mobius weight vs this baby which is heavier?

Mobius with C2 lens is 45g. That's pretty good, 10g lighter with 60fps recording!

      Tech2C
Well, I was thinking this was lighter from your weight measurements. MOAR flying time is nice. How many minutes of 60fps, and 120fps, can you get on a standard card, and charge?

Sorry, the Runcam 2 is 10g lighter. Runcam website mentions battery life is 60 minutes recording at 1080p 60fps, or 90 minutes at 1080p 30fps.
The video bitrate is approx 30Mb/s, so we're looking at 13.5GB per hour of video.

That is actually pretty impressive all around. Thank you for the video and the information.

Great informational video. Question. Is there some kind of instruction manual that comes with the camera. I'm hearing that the Mobius comes with nothing.

Nothing beats a good CCD camera for FPV.
Although if you record every flight then this is a great alternative.

+rastkomiocinovic I agree with Tech2C use an analogue camera when flying around fast they have lower latency and there is less chance they will fail since the electronics are simpler. HD cameras do a lot of intense processing of the video when recording. Although RCReviews showed these RunCams have a low latency and so can be used for direct FPV viewing if you wish. I got one of these Runcams when they were released but I still havn't used it. I would have preferred it without wireless personally and just configure it using PC software like on the Mobius. But I maybe in the minority with the smartphone generation.

Great review.... minus the commercial/ad in middle.
Bad enough we have to be forced to skip the first ad and now have to jump over ads put in the middle and end. Ads take away from the internet experience, cheapen it.
I like the vids but that's pretty sad that you feel the need to make a % of a penny by doing that.
perhaps a review of what it was like with an ad/commercial free broadcast/stream/video the internet promised and provided years back... ;-)
good review otherwise. despite the desperate means to make a penny, I subscribed.

How is the audio recording on this? I thought I heard it was crap.
I know audio isn't crucial for FPV recording, but I was considering buying it for non-R/C use as well, since it has WiFi for framing. If the mic isn't up to the task, I'll probably just stick with my Mobius for now.

The audio has a high pass filter applied which makes everything sound tinny. I believe this was implemented to reduce wind noise on aircrafts. Definitely don't use this camera for its audio capabilities.
