I like how your dog gets so much time in the middle of your video. My dog Yoda does the same thing. It's nice sometimes to have his eyes to point you in the right direction when you crash.
Completely agree with your conclusion Andy. I purchased the RC2 because I saw some really nice footage out of it, but I was really disappointed in use. It needs a bright sunny sky with a well lit ground otherwise it ruins the video with the exposure problems you highlighted here. It can be improved by bumping exposure, but it's still not as good as the Yi/Foxeer.
With my runcam V1, the only cons I have with it: - no velcro straps - need to secure the sd slot with some electric tape to keep the sd in case of a crash The pros: - 1080 @ 30 fps, good enough for me - the luminosity management is really good for me - light weight - simple to use (push one button to switch between the three modes 1080@30, 720@60, 720@30) - the bright orange casing for easy retrieval (sh** happens ^^ ) - some crash proof casing - cheap with the arrival of the V2 on market
Hi Andy! I I'm trying to work out the best way of recording and uploading via the Yi? should I set it at 25fps as or 50fps? (this is the options within the menu) which setting would you recommend? many thanks dude! 👍👍
nice vid, I'm gonna check out the foxeer . I have the get up git2 which fits all the go pro stuff, but the real question is how these cams survive impacts. haven't flown with git up yet because I'm not trying to be buying cameras every couple months.
Thank you for reply. I do not know what to choose between ”Foxeer Legend 2” and ”Hawkeye Firefly Q6”. But, if you say that ”Legend 1” is good, maybe ”Legend 2” is the one to choose.
Hi Andy would like to bring to mind something about the Runcam 2 that you might have missed, and that's the latency on the runcam 2 is very good for a digital camera ,in fact I would put it on par with most of the dedicated fpv camera's I have flown with which combined with the connector for attaching a OSD you can use this camera very effectively as a stand alone fpv camera with HD recording capability's !. which I think is just the duck's gut's of fpv cams.what's your opinion on this? Thanks for your efforts with the videos as I think you do a very good job of detailing the different strengths and weakness's of all the micro's and mini quads you have reviewed....So a big merry xmas and also a BIG CHEERS from me, see ya matey John in Auz
no problem enjoy flying :) I think redundancy and dynamic range is the reason i choose to have separate cams but i do understand the runcam works well as a dual system cheers
if you keep yours eye out you can find good deals on go pro's. i found a hero 3 silver used on ebay that had never been used for $180 usd. thanks for the great info.
Murphy herd me about the runcam 2 600mw TX mount ,I gave mine to a friend for his birthday and ordered another one but they r out of stock and don't think that they will do the offer again,Eh!! good reason to find somthing better,I want a recording flight camera that gives me through the lens FPV with a switch for HD maybe (don't always like the wide screen thing as I don't seem to see the fine detail as well with the wide format?..So it's 4:3 for me,O ye and it has to come in a AIO MC01 package at under 10 grams :-)
+AndyRC - any thoughts on recommendations for Ariel photography. In the middle of decieding which gimbal (proabably storm32 from gearbest) and but still undecieded which camera.
FYI HK have a runcam 2 with a mount thats got a built in 600mw TX and it's under $65 Au I think that's only about 40 quid so it's a steal at that price,I bet I regret saying this as they'll run out before I can order one, still worth a look I recon..cheers again Jc in Auz
+AndyRC this is true, so true.i need to buy something and they said in may or would be out, I think I'll wait another week and then pull the trigger.great review love your video s
i know its old video here but andyrc i broke my gopro 3 non plus and now i need something that videos just as good but dont cost arm and leg.. id love a session 5 but money isnt going to fit that
I don't recommend Run Cam, because after you purchase the camera, they removed the application of Google app, now my run cam which used otg to plug is useless! !!
nice comparison Andy. you should try the Yi with wafflefpv's superview script. the quality is close to a GoPro, though it won't fix the sound. here is how to install it: nathan.vertile.com/blog/2015/05/08/xiaomi-yi-the-ant-camera/
The gopro looked the best, but I'd rather have the other three and some change lol. I'd probably go for the Runcam 2. The Hawkeye firefly Q6 looks good too www.banggood.com/Hawkeye-Firefly-Q6-4K-1080P-24FPS-HD-Mini-Camera-for-FPV-Racer-p-1051978.html . Thx Dod.
Mobius 2 incoming! Doesn't seem too impressive though... The new design looks impractical to me. I'm really interested how it's going to perform in terms of image quality. Will you review it? www.banggood.com/Mobius-2-ActionCam-1080P-130-Degree-Wide-Angle-Mini-Sports-Camera-FPV-DashCam-H_265-HEVC-H_264-AVC-p-1070626.html

yes. although i find myself using all these cameras. just for different situations :) thanjs

I think you'll see better results on the Run Cam 2 if you switch to Centre metering mode. Great review!!
I think the Foxeer was better than the Runcam2, I have both of these and the Foxeer is my go to ;-)
what are those patches of uncut grass about at the end of your field?
LOL @ the dog chasing your miniquad!
How about firefly 6s or 7s? Any experience with it flying and crashing wise.
Hi Andy! I I'm trying to work out the best way of recording and uploading via the Yi? should I set it at 25fps as or 50fps? (this is the options within the menu) which setting would you recommend? many thanks dude! 👍👍
I heard that a ND filter on the lens makes a 30fps cam much flowy, if this is true one might not need 60fps then.
Have you tried the GIT UP Git2???
whats the best?
were u flying fpv in these footage? there is foxeer legend2 as well. are you reviewing that?
hi andy ive got the black yi camera what is the best resolution to record in when useing my dji phantom
Try the Eken H8, I think you'll love it.
what do you think about the mobius mini?
i think it will be good for the 130 sized aircraft but 180 and above id go with the foxeer
nice vid, I'm gonna check out the foxeer . I have the get up git2 which fits all the go pro stuff, but the real question is how these cams survive impacts. haven't flown with git up yet because I'm not trying to be buying cameras every couple months.
Joshua Bardwell's latest video may be of interest to you.
How is ”Hawkeye Firefly Q6” compared to these cameras? Or ”Foxeer Legend 2”? Thank you!
I dont have them however id be surprised if something could beat the legend 1. I think it would still be my favorite
Thank you for reply. I do not know what to choose between ”Foxeer Legend 2” and ”Hawkeye Firefly Q6”. But, if you say that ”Legend 1” is good, maybe ”Legend 2” is the one to choose.
perhaps I will have to get one in thanks
Looking forward for your review of those cameras. Thank you.
Make a video on the best camera for f450 quad size, and also for aerial photography.
May you please do a comparison, on the Gravity Pursuit 1080p drone and Protocol Galileo upgraded camera drone

nice comparison vid! Question, how many quads did you "loose" to K9 carnage?
usually when the quad gets to the landing site the dogs interest turns to me and i find myself having to run a lot :)
if you keep yours eye out you can find good deals on go pro's. i found a hero 3 silver used on ebay that had never been used for $180 usd. thanks for the great info.
just wondering how you mounted the foxeer. Velcro straps ?
used the runcam straps sad to say!

I hope gopro session could be added to the list !!!😁
i dont have one :(
+AndyRC no worries mate !!! just a suggestion. thanks for awesome videos !!!
thanks for watching!
+AndyRC - any thoughts on recommendations for Ariel photography. In the middle of decieding which gimbal (proabably storm32 from gearbest) and but still undecieded which camera.
+Guy flanshaw the yi is still the best for a gimbal :-)

can someone tell me a micro camara for recording for a micro quad with 110mm frame?
wonder if I should wait for foxeer2
the problem is... waiting is no fun. we could wait until fpv is in 8k and latency free.. but that would be some time ;)
+AndyRC this is true, so true.i need to buy something and they said in may or would be out, I think I'll wait another week and then pull the trigger.great review love your video s
usually in this hobby its best to buy whats out now. u can never rely on release dates I have learned.
i know its old video here but andyrc i broke my gopro 3 non plus and now i need something that videos just as good but dont cost arm and leg.. id love a session 5 but money isnt going to fit that
Xiaomi YI
very nice video like friend
Has anyone here used the runcam or one of the other "fpv cams" for a flight cam and are any of them good on latency ?
the run cam is meant to be the best but i would always recommend a separate cam for redundancy if nothing else
I don't like the way your winner adapts to light conditions, it's much smoother on the Yi... everything else, fair enough
+reezlaw its exactly the same as the yi..
I don't know, the steps seem more noticeable to me, but maybe it's just me
Your Wifi on Yi only does suck because of the 35MBit/s Firmware Hack. Without it the Wifi is fine. Use xyc instead.
i had the problem with or without the hack :(
+AndyRC the dog was running the quadcopter😁😅
I don't recommend Run Cam, because after you purchase the camera, they removed the application of Google app, now my run cam which used otg to plug is useless! !!

+Jascraft Medien if they send to me yes I will review. I just review what they send at the moment thanks
I prefer a keychain cam
you need to get a GoPro session and stop messing with all that other stuff.
+mark schear don't like the gopro session quality
gopro hero 5 black is much better than these all cameras
+hiten dhiman too heavy for a quad
hiten dhiman no shit
