P LOVE THAT ADVICE ESPECIALL THE END JAB SLIP JAB SLIP = DEVELOPE GOOD HABBITS FROM THE START, and i never thought of it befor in terms of better cardio and how it would treally help that much extra but nade perfect sense I GUESS I WAS ONLY THINKING OF BAG FOR MORE JUST POWER MOSTLY

So basically treat the bag like it’s an actual opponent! Agreed!

Great points. My pet peeve is when people use the heavy bag as an exercise apperatus. It is always an opponent. I teach my trainees to never be "comfortable" within the punching range of the heavy bag. That should always be a "danger zone". That way you don't build a habit of complacency. Your habit should be vigilance. The heavy bag CAN be an uber-useful tool for self defense training, but not if you don't bring the proper mindset, and training system, to it.
    Super video, sir!

Boxing basic,..really nice to see someone mention it again. Some coaches call it “built in defense “. Always keep in mind something is come back until the bell rings. Thanks coach.

    Sifu Jason,,,
I could never afford to take lessons or a gym, so all of my training was at home, alone, you have answered questions I have had for many years, specially those concerning kata and how it relates to actual combat skills, I live in Mount Holly near Charlotte NC, would love to attend weekly classes,
    Great stuff,
    Thank you sir!!!

Michael Hall that’s awesome, Michael and exactly why we’re doing the channel! Keep up the home training and maybe we’ll see you at the Academy for one of our classes or seminars someday soon.

Hit, hit, hit, step back, stay in Bai Jong, steal a step, circle, don’t knock it around, and don’t use bare hands or you’ll have some messed up looking knuckles eventually. ‘Stay alive,’ with your activity and footwork as you work the bag. Should definitely have listened to you more on the wear gloves or wrapping at all times part, lol.
Another great video. Anyone in the or near the Upstate wanting to learn JKD, true self-defense, and/or boxing should train here.

    Great advice as usual ☆
Just to add a little something; perhaps a part two for this topic. To imagine getting hit from body shots and firing off back from there, adding to the realism and also striking while moving, as many like to do the stop hit stop hit.
I don't particularly like to bob and weav too much, as it can also become a bad habit of not using the feet for defence and libel to become a target for body shots if not careful ♡ Mixing things up with the bag, trying out new things, being creative and unpredictable can take away the "Banging on the bag syndrome" being light, agile and fast or slow solid and hard hitting, just to name a few ♡

Thoughts are things & everytime I hear you curse people it makes me not subscribe to an otherwise wonderful channel with excellent information.
Oh & in case you don't think thoughts are things, you should probably look up observation at the quantum level.
