The new Corporate Average Fuel Economy standards require an industry-wide fleet average of approximately 49 mpg for passenger cars and light trucks in model year 2026. That’s why no one is building high horsepower muscle cars after 2025.

This car is a real rarity. Disregards the asking price, it will be possible to flip it for 100K more (with the fast flip), or 150K after year or 2 in garage with almost zero miles.

I was there, it was windy and the helicopter drop off of the car was crazy, it was swinging in the wind but it was a cool event. I was surprised worth the demon 170 name but I definitely don’t like the non wide body front fenders and the badge is weird looking in person. I have a demon and I like the look of mine better and after all this is a cool car and it’s exciting as a car enthusiast that this car is going to exist. Tim did say that current demon owners will get 1st crack at matching build numbers

I have called 10 different dealerships here in Texas this morning. They have basically set a $100k markup as the standard. Bottom line price would be $215k without any if the optional feature…color, wheels, etc.
That is nuts , I own a 2018 z06 making 742 wheel and 718 torque stock it made 550-554 wheel it loses about 100 hp through the drive train, I don’t think people realize how fast this is gonna be, my best time on slicks is 9.82 143 on a slick Can’t get into the 9s on the 888r’s I usually run on the street, I don’t think people realize how fast this is, great job dodge, to bad this is it before that electric beast with no soul comes out-that saddens me

All these specs are awesome and if this last call vehicle performs as advertised, Dodge deserves a standing ovation. With that said, isn’t anyone nervous about the fact that all this technology is new and improved and thrown together in one package that has never been done before. This would make me awfully nervous and worried about breakdowns and factory issues. I purposely waited to get my Scat Pack 1320 until all the bugs had apparently been identified and resolved.
First day of allocations I locked in a deal with my dealership for $7,500 over msrp! But then the bidding wars started everywhere else and now they called me up and canceled my deal and said “they have an issue with the allocation” 😕
The dealership near me has an allotment for 5 demon 170's per the horsepower locater. The interesting thing I have seen is the amount of hellcats dealerships have compared to scatpacks. The dealership near me is a top 200 dealer and only has an allotment for 2 scat pack widebodies which I was very lucky to get one of. Compared to 60 something hellcats. At that math a normal scatpack widebody will be almost just as rare as some of the special edition cars for the 23 production year.
Because they were expecting you to click the Hellcat option. Family friend got a 2016 or 18 used 392 Scat, wasnt a wide body. Hehad it for maybe 8 months and gave it back. His wife hated it (was too fast/scary) and he knew he'd blow through points on his license if he kept it, besides his car insurance and the monthly payment on it was through the roof. had the skaer scoop and all the "please officer look at me" appointments. Least it was grey and not red.

Also, what I saw was that of these 3300 cars if the dealerships have a high markup, they take high priority the car with a very low markup or at MSRP will be billed first, and the incentive is, is, if all the cars aren’t filled or ordered by the time December 31 comes to shut the factory those dealerships may not get there allocations so therefore they are incentivized to get the car sold and then a fair price

I know I am in a minority of one, but I am not blown away by this car. Many racers like Racer X and Demonlogy have already gotten this much power out of their cars and, at least with Racer X, had a fully drivable car to carry the family around. For the price, not the MSRP but for the price you will actually pay at the dealer, I would have liked to have seen a car that can also drive every day and handle. Even the look of the car is underwhelming - "regular" Redeyes look sharper. No 426 No aluminum block This may end up being a $200K out the door drag car that is a half second or so faster than a Demon - and onyl a prepped track with drag radials. For me, track only cars should be affordable and fun. If the dealer markups drive this to 200k, I would be looking more at an all around star like a BMW M5 CS. If you can actually buy it around $110K, then I am impressed.
PS - not even slightly believing Dodge's 1/4 mile times either. No one ever achieved the times it claimed for the Demon. Let's see how fast this really is on the street as even drag radials struggle for traction with 1000HP going to a light read
This will cost you at least 200k, its gonna be worse than trying to get the 2023 z06 and we saw how that’s going , over 200k unless you are hooked up, they will probably be real low in numbers also I’d say as little as 1000 to as many as 2 or 3 thousand, good luck 🍀

I have to laugh at Jay Leno pointing out how sticky the track was. You could see they wanted to make sure the track was very well prepped. That car had to launch and run hard! No embarrassments! They had some production issues. I am going to call it the Drunken Demon!

Should’ve designed a drag based Charger and call it a the Goblin or Ghoul. There isn’t a drag based Charger the Challengers have the 1320 Scat/Demon, now Demon 170. The Daytona trim should’ve been the drag version honestly.

You are wrong, I was just at Radford racing school and the Demons ran a best of 9.74 on drag radials, with all the seats in the car, a small cage to hold the race harnesses, and wide front tires. Track prep is key.

I was disappointed when there was no mention of the Direct Connection kits for the Scat Packs. Tim "did" say they haven't totally closed the curtain on the Hemi cars. Whatever that meant. I took it as there might be a few more years of NA Hemis to come.
Also thought it would be called something other than demond, on a different note he did say now they can get the stage kits for the red eye ect. I have a new 22 scatpack and nothing was mentioned on stage kits for them, I thought the stage 3 kits was to make a scatpack 600- 650 hp+ no updates from direct connection.
Yeah..should be close to a Plaid, with the Plaid having the advantage in most situations due to awd. Maybe Elon will throw a little more oomph at the Plaids, and extra 100 should suffice

After watching the live feed,three things come to mind here,1) why wasn’t the quarter mile time shown on the feed? Was it shown to the crowd?2) the reaction from the crowd seemed somewhat lackluster after the pass was made which says to me it was a N/T run. Maybe it was bad audio,I didn’t pick up that vibe.Did the car really run what Tim Kuniskis advertised afterwards??? Left me a little baffled. I even noticed that when Mecum posted on instagram,the video was cut short after the car went through the traps.Did Dodge play it safe by not advertising the claimed time slip on case it fell short which was a real possibility. I don’t know, none the less, the car looked impressive from the dig but looked a little down on mph top end wise. Just my observation.3) Finally Did anyone else notice that Tim announced that the Hellcat/ Redeye tuning kits are finally available???Right on!!!👏🏼

I think Demon owners will get first dibs on this, because it was mentioned that if you have a Demon and buy this one as well, you can get your current Demon serial added to the Demon 170. The fact they're making 3000 of these is pretty cool--but I think they should at least have power seats for both driver and passenger--all these 'Last Call' units should have had that, IMHO.

It's a beast. I knew it would rate over 1000 HP. 22 pounds of boost so the 7.1lbs DID actually refer to the added boost. I never really understood where all this "Goblin" stuff was coming from but whatever.... Here's what Dodge did; They said okay, we're going to show all of you Chevy and Ford folks what a "Boat anchor" can do and then proceeded to blow every other production car manufacturer off the road with these numbers. In 2008 -2015 they built the brute which is THE absolute epitome of the original muscle car class. And the thing that many didn't seem to realize is the poundage that went with these vehicles were a part of that. They weren't the most nimble or the quickest, but they weren't meant to. be. They weren't "zippy,' They were steamrollers on steroids, Bull elephants and rhinos! Get the hell out of my way or reap the consequences. Muscle cars were never made to look and feel like European sports cars. They were big, brawny, brutes! they weren't slow, but neither did they want to be a Ferrari. Dodge is about Muscle, Big raw and strong! They don't care about Corvettes, what they look like or what they are doing, which is why you've never seen anything like that in their lineup and the true muscle head feels the same way. Don't misunderstand me, The Corvette along with these European rockets are great I think, but they're not muscle cars. So if you are looking for the 'dartiest,' nimblest, quickest thing on the road then a Dodge Challenger or Charger isn't for you. That being said, This is a straight line, quarter mile speed and quickness monster right off the showroom floor, with an internal combustion engine, and Dodge has wiped everyone else off the map in this genre. It's not a 'roundy-round' Production car (Dodge killed that class with the production Viper for the record), it's a static-start quarter mile beast that no other production car can touch.... Not Chevy, not Ford.... End of story! Dodge's EV'S has some HUGE shoes to fill. Those who hate Ev's now, their feelings will only be reinforced by this new "Dodge Demon 170" release. Another problem for Dodge to solve. FYI; Raitas Rides (sp) says the price will be about $96,000. Another source ( I think Car and Driver) said $91,000.

I went to my local dealership I asked about the demon 170 they said pre orders on 27th of march. One of the salesperson told me if your demon owner with proof of ownership you can get the car first dips of the 170. They are only can get least less than 10. The price starts of $96k.
Dealers will probably ask at least 100k over sticker. Even if it is the last challenger they make, it is not worth it to spend that much money that will be over 200k when all the fees are totaled on a car, especially with the financial crisis going on. A good way to go out, now they are making almost 7000 total Demons together, same motor but stronger internals. Most will not drive the car and try to flip it. The banking industry collapse is what more people are focused on.
So the DC Stage 1 and Stage 2 kits are now approved and available. Will the Stage 3 kit give us the parts to make the Redeye perform close to the D170s?

Probably won't effect prices at all tbh. The GT500 barely scratched away at the price of GT350's if at all.

Also, what I saw was that of these 3300 cars if the dealerships have a high markup, they take high priority the car with a very low markup or at MSRP will be billed first, and the incentive is, is, if all the cars aren’t filled or ordered by the time December 31 comes to shut the factory those dealerships may not get there allocations so therefore they are incentivized to get the car sold and then a fair price

I know I am in a minority of one, but I am not blown away by this car. Many racers like Racer X and Demonlogy have already gotten this much power out of their cars and, at least with Racer X, had a fully drivable car to carry the family around. For the price, not the MSRP but for the price you will actually pay at the dealer, I would have liked to have seen a car that can also drive every day and handle. Even the look of the car is underwhelming - "regular" Redeyes look sharper.

This may end up being a $200K out the door drag car that is a half second or so faster than a Demon - and onyl a prepped track with drag radials. For me, track only cars should be affordable and fun. If the dealer markups drive this to 200k, I would be looking more at an all around star like a BMW M5 CS.
If you can actually buy it around $110K, then I am impressed.
PS - not even slightly believing Dodge's 1/4 mile times either. No one ever achieved the times it claimed for the Demon. Let's see how fast this really is on the street as even drag radials struggle for traction with 1000HP going to a light read
This will cost you at least 200k, its gonna be worse than trying to get the 2023 z06 and we saw how that’s going , over 200k unless you are hooked up, they will probably be real low in numbers also I’d say as little as 1000 to as many as 2 or 3 thousand, good luck 🍀

I have to laugh at Jay Leno pointing out how sticky the track was. You could see they wanted to make sure the track was very well prepped. That car had to launch and run hard! No embarrassments! They had some production issues.

You are wrong, I was just at Radford racing school and the Demons ran a best of 9.74 on drag radials, with all the seats in the car, a small cage to hold the race harnesses, and wide front tires. Track prep is key.

Tim said the parachute is included. You have to pick it up through your direct connection dealer at no charge.
I was disappointed when there was no mention of the Direct Connection kits for the Scat Packs. Tim "did" say they haven't totally closed the curtain on the Hemi cars. Whatever that meant. I took it as there might be a few more years of NA Hemis to come.
Amazing time for US cars.....the Z06 and now this. Both cars are beyond belief.
Also thought it would be called something other than demond, on a different note he did say now they can get the stage kits for the red eye ect. I have a new 22 scatpack and nothing was mentioned on stage kits for them, I thought the stage 3 kits was to make a scatpack 600- 650 hp+ no updates from direct connection.

After watching the live feed,three things come to mind here,1) why wasn’t the quarter mile time shown on the feed? Was it shown to the crowd?2) the reaction from the crowd seemed somewhat lackluster after the pass was made which says to me it was a N/T run. Maybe it was bad audio,I didn’t pick up that vibe.Did the car really run what Tim Kuniskis advertised afterwards??? Left me a little baffled. I even noticed that when Mecum posted on instagram,the video was cut short after the car went through the traps.Did Dodge play it safe by not advertising the claimed time slip on case it fell short which was a real possibility. I don’t know, none the less, the car looked impressive from the dig but looked a little down on mph top end wise. Just my observation.3) Finally Did anyone else notice that Tim announced that the Hellcat/ Redeye tuning kits are finally available???Right on!!!👏🏼
One more question I have is being that it’s in such a high state of tune with all the cool parts,how much more juice can you squeeze out of that fruit before it pops ???

I think Demon owners will get first dibs on this, because it was mentioned that if you have a Demon and buy this one as well, you can get your current Demon serial added to the Demon 170. The fact they're making 3000 of these is pretty cool--but I think they should at least have power seats for both driver and passenger--all these 'Last Call' units should have had that, IMHO.

It's a beast. I knew it would rate over 1000 HP. 22 pounds of boost so the 7.1lbs DID actually refer to the added boost.
I never really understood where all this "Goblin" stuff was coming from but whatever....

then proceeded to blow every other production car manufacturer off the road with these numbers. In 2008 -2015 they built the
brute which is THE absolute epitome of the original muscle car class. And the thing that many didn't seem to realize is the
poundage that went with these vehicles were a part of that. They weren't the most nimble or the quickest, but they weren't meant
to. be. They weren't "zippy,' They were steamrollers on steroids, Bull elephants and rhinos! Get the hell out of my way or reap the
consequences.
Muscle cars were never made to look and feel like European sports cars. They were big, brawny, brutes! they weren't slow, but
neither did they want to be a Ferrari. Dodge is about Muscle, Big raw and strong! They don't care about Corvettes, what they look
like or what they are doing, which is why you've never seen anything like that in their lineup and the true muscle head feels the
same way.
Don't misunderstand me, The Corvette along with these European rockets are great I think, but they're not muscle cars. So if you
are looking for the 'dartiest,' nimblest, quickest thing on the road then a Dodge Challenger or Charger isn't for you. That being said,
This is a straight line, quarter mile speed and quickness monster right off the showroom floor, with an internal combustion engine,
and Dodge has wiped everyone else off the map in this genre.
It's not a 'roundy-round' Production car (Dodge killed that class with the production Viper for the record), it's a static-start quarter mile
beast that no other production car can touch.... Not Chevy, not Ford.... End of story! Dodge's EV'S has some HUGE shoes to fill. Those
who hate Ev's now, their feelings will only be reinforced by this new "Dodge Demon 170" release. Another problem for Dodge to solve.
FYI; Raitas Rides (sp) says the price will be about $96,000. Another source ( I think Car and Driver) said $91,000.

I went to my local dealership I asked about the demon 170 they said pre orders on 27th of march. One of the salesperson told me if your demon owner with proof of ownership you can get the car first dips of the 170. They are only can get least less than 10. The price starts of $96k.

Dealers will probably ask at least 100k over sticker. Even if it is the last challenger they make, it is not worth it to spend that much money that will be over 200k when all the fees are totaled on a car, especially with the financial crisis going on. A good way to go out, now they are making almost 7000 total Demons together, same motor but stronger internals. Most will not drive the car and try to flip it. The banking industry collapse is what more people are focused on.
