I started using nicotine for night shift and help ADHD. Better than any prescription stimulants by far. I use nicotine pouches. It kept me awake during nightshift and I was able to see better at night to drive.
I take adhd medications and was on a massive journey with my psychiatrist to fix my anxiety/depression. After two years of trial and error, my psychiatrist got mad that I lowered my meds and started using nicotine pouches. I’ve never been better. Pure Nicotine is fine in moderation, just like everything else in life. No more visits to the psychiatrist trying to get me to take every other medications under the sun. 👍
I've just started taking clean nicotine for my ADHD symptoms (I've never smoked) along with low carb (ketogenic in fact) diet. I feel so much more executive capacity and it seems like it does what we would hope caffeine should do. The side effects seem no worse than caffeine, except without being a diarretic. I've been diagnosed with CFS so I don't know how much a part that plays and I'm not productive yet but it feels healthy.
I always thought of all the real dangers of substances like alcohol and other toxic drugs and wondered why there was not a safe recreational drug and I am conviced now that it is nicotine in it's pure form and it appears to not only be harmless, but beneficial in many ways.
When did humans actually start to isolate nicotine from tobacco? a century ago? even less I think. Can we give some consideration to 60,000 years of nicotine intake through chewing and smoking tobacco? Perhaps, the biggest source of modern disease and illnesses is isolating components of naturally occurring substances, from isolating sugar from cane and fruits, to isolating nicotine from tobacco. For tens of thousands of years, we were fine with consuming stuff that occurred naturally in it's complete form, suddenly, everything became harmful around a century ago. When I look at these modern creatures from my little house on Mars, it all makes sense why everyone is sick today.
This argument makes sense in some contexts, but not here. We all know that there is extremely robust evidence that tobacco causes lung and even mouth cancer just from contact. Isolated nicotine does not. The plant is very clearly more harmful than the extracted substance in this case. Rules of thumb are never unbreakable.
Agree. And there's sufficient research supporting your statement zerogravity. If you search for an article with the key words: comprehensive review health benefits tobacco, you should that there's solid info supporting your idea.
I heard a video of a native american talking about his homegrown tobacco. He believes pesticides and overbreeding turns tobacco carcinogenic. It's hard to know what to think.
Finally, an intelligent, scientific discussion! Tobacco usage had always been wrapped up in morality in the U.S. so it is hard to have honest discussion. More recently tobacco is wrapped up in the morality of 'public health' which attempts to keep costs down. By that measure, all of us are duty bound to stay "healthy" by following government guidelines, for the good of the nation. The U.S. does not have government based medical care though ObamaCare was a step in that direction. Marijuana was once a similar subject and the ONLY moral position was, marijuana is bad & you will go crazy if you use it. It is a gateway drug and if you use it, you will soon be injecting heroin. Now, few criticize marijuana but public pressure is against tobacco. As one of the guests said, we should choose what we put into our bodies. I have medical conditions that would benefit from marijuana if it did for me what it does for many. Instead, it is a total disaster for me. I have repeatedly voted for legalization and I am happy for those it helps.
So. My take away here is that there is no actual evidence for nicotine being beneficial. No answer for the lady who asked about appetite suppression. The nicotine conversations are mostly based on anecdotal experiences of individuals. Might, maybe, possibly, does not equate to anything other than guess work. How can people who research a substance for so long still know very little about it? Really, a lot of talk but little to no information.

I had an interesting experience of chewing nicotine gum helping reduce a fever and flu like symptoms I was having.
