There's another Splatoon reference! When you donate a certain squid-related fossil to Blathers (I can't remember what it's called), he goes on to hypothesize what the world would be like if the squids evolved and took over the world, including a mention of ink-related sports.
Reference appears when you donate a Eusthenopteron to the museum, which is a fish.

ALSO Sometimes when you catch a squid, there are (from what I know) three different messages. one of them is a direct nod to Splatoon 2 will show up: "I caught a squid! It's off the hook!", a reference to the broadcasting team, Off the Hook. The other two messages are "I had an inkling I might!" which COULD be a nod to the inkling, or just a play on words like the others, and "Do they... not actually 'bloop'?" one that seems to not reference anything.

I made a "Hell room" in my basement. It is Magma Cavern Wall and floor. I put all of the Bunny Day items in it, That makes it truly a Hell
I like the way you think but then again it is giving something you hate am entire room in your house so I don't know if you're actually the winner in this situation

That said, these aren't necessarily "haunted" paintings...they're more likely secondary forgeries.

Man I love how the squid gets three lines of text "its of the hook" "an inkling I might" and "they don't say bloop?" While a sea bass and 90% of the other fish just havr ONE LINE OVER AND OVER AND OVER AMD OVER in all its about a C... Minus ya a C-

My personal favourite- after visiting another island, you can sometimes see the cloud trail from the plane in the sky above your island.
My favourite easter egg is when the villagers reference characters/features that aren’t in the game yet.

So many Easter eggs made through the clothes you can buy like the ‘dragon outfit’ referencing Bruce Lee and just today they were selling ‘sailor outfits’ In all the recognisable but legally distinct colours of the characters from ‘Sailor Moon’. ... and yes I bought them

The Sailor Tees in question are actually standard middle school uniform tops. The Sailor Moon characters have big bows instead of the normal ties. They also only have 8 colors, and Mars, Neptune, and Neptune are definitely missing.
But I think the colors are supposed to be references - there's one version with a green lapel and red tie, which looks a lot like the one worn by Kagome from Inuyasha. The others seem to be taken from a few of the Senshi.
also the Zap outfits, which are a direct reference to Power Rangers & Super Sentai, and the Power Helmet, which looks an awful lot like Meta Knight & Galacta Knight....

4:03 'whatever the hell this thing is'- _that_ is a tetrapod wave-dissipating concrete block; a bunch of them interlocking together in a line forms a breakwater. I'll bet if you had enough, you could surround your island and protect from snomad attack.

I blitzed through about 80k just trying to get a specific villager on mystery islands while I had a vacancy, so it really just depends on what you're focused on

By unclaimed I think they mean they haven’t claimed the nook miles from the phone app
So i just recently found out that all the framed pictures of your villagers have messages written on the back (it’s usually their birthdays their sign and then a quote from them)
Was like that in New Leaf, and I believe Wild World. I can't see anything on them in Pocket Camp and I haven't played the other games.
In New leaf you needed them to get know them and make it easier to recognize them in the April fool's event, when another npc would become an exact copy of your villager, but the event isn't in new horizons so idk why they're still there lol

I have a theory that the key is literally the key to the boat. Redd thought no one would be dumb enough to buy it, so he stuck the key on the back. Hes probably loosing it right now

@@r.j.penfold He untied his boat, pulled up the anchor, then went to the cabin and when he finally realized the key wasn't there, his boat had already drifted away from the island and now he's stuck at sea. Some say hes been forced to eat all his fake paintings. Others say he got abducted by the Snomads and Gulliver's crew hasn't yet formulated a successful plan and he keeps ending up drifting to different islands because their plans always fail.
11:00 To add, the squid aquarium that you can place has a splatoon squid sticker on the back of the tank. Which is pretty cool eye candy.

In my head-canon, Gulliver's nautical transportation business went broke after Dodo Airlines started operating in the area and now he spends his time drinking at the beach at night making up stories.
Piles of empty coconuts next to his beach lounger where he passes out from drinking too much vacation juice. At some point he rolls around too much in his sleep and rolls into the ocean and ends up on our beach.

@@ThePeteyGunn It has to be available first, though, which isn't guaranteed. There are three different parts - Red Corner, Blue Corner, and Neutral Corner. They can show up either in the Nook Shopping option of the ABD or at Nook's Cranny. However, the likelihood of getting all three in a reasonable amount of time is pretty low, unless you know someone who will let you hold them for a moment so they register to your Nook Shopping list. I am still trying to find a Blue Corner.

Also about the 1-up sound, the amount of bells you're getting is closely following the pointprogression in mario games when you swoop multiple enemies in a row which result in a 1up after the 8000 pointer.

A wave breaker is to stop shores from eroding from the natural damage of waves beating against them all day, they're used a lot in Japan. Basically they... break waves.
I've started using Sea Bass as fencing. The big (c) plus is that they come with their own lighting.
Also the surprise boxes are references to all the plant born fairytale children VwV the tulip is Thumbelina, the peach is Momotaro and the bamboo is princess Kaguya! I love the surprise box Easter eggs the most
At least 3 of these are long running staples of the animal crossing series.

In ACNL Gulliver mentions Bobbery of Rogueport, which is a reference to Paper Mario.
Also the flotsom and jetsom reference made me smile! (Those are the two electric eels from The Little Mermaid)
MattieGrace I don’t know if it’s meant to refer to them. Both flotsam and jetsam are names for debris in water. The difference is flotsam is when it’s caused by a ship wreck and jetsam is unwanted material tossed over board. Which then leads to the discussion of, is gulliver saying he’d rather be tossed over board and rejected than be in a ship wreck?😂

4:10 Those concrete dealies are all around beaches in Japan. I remember them well from trips to Gamagori.

Yes, what Koike said. I live in a port town. There are a ton of those out in the sea, put there to form a wall-type deal to break the waves. Makes the harbour smoother to navigate.
If you have a robo villager (or melinda) and you put them in harveys photohouse and pick them up. You can shake them and they make sounds. Like engine sound and melinda rings :D you have to holy them and move them quick up/down or left/right

Maybe the key on the back of the painting unlocks Redd’s bedroom and he forgot to take it off before putting the painting up for display? At 5:33 i already thought it was Da Vinci Code reference when the option "I say No!". In the movie when the van driver tries to sell the "fake" Rolex to the Police officer.
I almost went full Dicaprio meme when Gulliver mentioned Coralcola...while StarTropics wasn't my favorite NES game, my brother played it fairly regularly, so it was a large part of my childhood.
I will miss all the ACNH content and ACNH: Show of the Weekend when lockdown is fully over. Though I suspect even after it will be hard to tear Luke and Ellen away.
My favorite easter eggs are the haunted paintings! Like the Fake copy of the Girl with a pearl earring. For the knock off, it closes it’s eyes at night & opens them again in the morning!
Another thing with Gulliver is a reference to an old movie I believe was called Mr. Limpet which is about a man who turns into a fish. The line "But verily be the nature of dreams to end" that Gulliver says sometimes when waking up is from Mr. Limpet which is made more apparent when Gulliver said he heard a fish say it.
There are a couple K.K. songs that are themes from previous games. So far, I've collected the theme from City Folk, the island theme song from Population Growing, and of course the theme for New Horizons.
hearing the Mario 1-up sound as you get money from rocks & the inclusion of Totaka's song as K.K. Song have been in every main Animal Crossing. And it's awesome that the Rougueport callback in New Leaf has been continued with Coralcola in New Horizons...but boy does it further my desire to see Nintendo revive StarTropics ( which never even released in Japan...neither game...crazy... )

My friend pointed out that the album cover for KK Disco is a reference to Yakuza 0. I've never played the new Animal Crossing (thanks Switch scalpers) but that's definitely my favorite Easter egg.

I thought the familiar sound effect was the sound when you hit the rock because it sounds like in Zelda when you hit a breakable wall with your sword.
Guys, I have to let you know, I've spoken to the Daisy fans about this video, and well, he is just outraged.
There are a few fake paintings that do weird stuff when a certain time happends. I believe the scary painting, wistfull and gracefull do some weird stuff 😂
If you display a squid in your house, in the back of the squid tank, there is this weird arrow shape that looks kinda like it's referencing splatoon, for I believe that the same arrow shapes show up every so often in splatoon.
Another Splatoon reference is said by Blathers if you let him explain more details about the eusthenopteron fossil. Also, the squid make a third reference to Bloopers.
I feel like I'm the only one who was unbothered by Bunny Day. I managed to grind out all the DIYs in a couple days, save for the ones given by Zipper himself.
#7 is 100% the children's song "I'm a little teapot"
There are also references to princess Kaguya in the bamboo surprise box, Momo from Samurai Jack's Story he told to a baby in the second to last season in the peach surprise box, Luigi's Mansion on a pinball machine, Street Fighter on an arcade cabinet, and a few more

Gulliver also mentions not wanting to go to space, which is a reference to his cameo in previous Animal Crossing games where he was in a
UFO.
Most of the fake paintings are haunted as well. Blinking, having shadowy figures on the back, sometimes just levitating...
The surprise peach item is a nice nod to Momotaro. While a lot of people seem to catch the Splatoon references, I haven’t seen anyone mention the third option is referencing the bloopers from Mario.

That explanation behind the alien thing made me feel alot less terrified. The beginning and end though with the static but the alien is only just visible is terrifying.
The aliens on the TV late at night easter egg was featured in a previous installment of Animal Crossing.
In the airport, there’s a “no liquid” sign, meaning 9/11 took place in animal crossing too
As well as a "no fireworks" sign in the form of the slashed red circle through a party popper!
Some of KK slider songs are references to real life songs. 1 is very similar to the opening of "Lean on me" and another is very similar to "carnavalito"
There's a couple of references to Japanese folklore as well, namely the legends of Momotaro and Princess Kaguya. They're in the peach and bamboo toys respectively.
Gulliver also talks about "ol' Bobbery from Rogueport" which is a reference to Paper Mario the Thousand Year Door :)

There's plenty more fake art easter eggs that are fun and creepy! The shadowy figure on the back of the (i believe) graceful painting, and how the fake Ancient Statue has glowing eyes at night and floats if you interact with it. Also, though i'm not sure if it counts as an easter egg, the bamboo doll item is a reference to the legend of Princess Kaguya, who was found inside a bamboo stalk.
