About Angus villager - there are more villager with "species inappropriate" names. There is pig named Rasher (like british therm for slice of bacon) and horse named Elmer (like in Elmer's glue - glue used to be made from horse bones and hooves) and chicken Benedict (like in dish eggs benedict).
Dear me!!! EVERYONE has appeared to have forgotten the more appropriate reference. He's actually named after a Scottish breed of cow called the Aberdeen Angus. They are known for their extreme hair and huge hornsl
There actually was a "secret lawnmower" in a few games. That was actually wisp! If you put all his spirit peices back together you can ask him to pick your weeds
In New Leaf if you visit Otto and Tom a lot, Otto will eventually mention Tom's ex. Then they'll both tell you about her,. Apparently it was Sable, and they split up because she didn't like him giving her business advice.
The Hylian Loach was actually a thing in Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. It is also super hard and probably the reason a lot of people that never found the fish in Ocarina of Time (but knew it was in there) thought that was the name of it too
One thing that you didn't mention is how Gabi bears a striking resemblance to Roger Rabbit from Who Framed Roger Rabbit. Or how in the song Rockin' K.K., which is based off of the song Johnny B. Goode by Chuck Berry, part of the lyrics that gets repeated a lot is 'Oh na mi oh', which sounds like 'Go, Johnny, Go', which is a lyric in the song it was based off of.
She is. That’s what her design is based off of. The English name is the only thing that suggests otherwise but that’s uhh… not relevant on what a character was designed after
Surfing kk's album cover reminds me more of the Dick Dale album cover "surfers' choice" the font even looks similar and Dick a Dale was known as the king of surf guitar. Also I think the villager using balloons in smash makes sense to me personally. There have been balloons carrying presents all back since the first game on the N64.

7:35(Aberdeen) Angus actually refers to a breed of small beef cattle that originated from Scotland. It's a naturally polled(hornless) breed and it's and solid black or solid red in coloration. It was named after Angus, a local council in Eastern Scotland. It could also refer to the German Angus, a crossbreed of Aberdeen Angus and various native German cattle breeds, including German black pied, Deutsche rotbunte, and fleckvieh. The most controversial cow names are t bone, as in t bone steak, or as in a type of car crash called a t bone, when one car hits the side of another car front on, and patty, as in beef patty or just as a harmless shorting of the feminine name Patricia
First time I played Animal Crossing, I got Jeremiah. I shared the village with my mom and sister. We all instantly got the reference and would hum that part talking to him. The Jeremiah reference I thought was pretty obvious. I thought back when Evil Imp was doing horror movie trailers in Animal Crossing that would have been good. Doing a creepy low version of the song then when you get to "I never understand a single word he said" then the screen goes black with a loud slam and whisper, "but I helped him drink his wine." Then a series of fast panicked shots of characters running from an unseen danger as the sound is sing aggressively loud.

Angus beef is named after the Angus cows it comes from. So while it’s possible that Angus is named after burger patties, it’s also possible he’s just named after the breed of cow. Although considering some of the other villager names in the series it could go either way.
The "hints" about the names are kinda meh because those are mostly only their english name and not the original names so it only makes mostky sense in english.
Technically the Hylian thing was correct since it refers to the fish's nationality rather than it's species (or would that be Hyrulean since Hylian is a race? If that's the case then the line is wrong in multiple ways)
I don't like having Leif pull weeds for me. He charges Bells, while you get Nook miles for selling them, plus there are DIY recipes that use them, like medicine and Roasted Sea Bass with Herbs.
