    If your hair is that dry and brittle during the week you should probably change your products or maybe refresh your hair in the middle of the week with moisturizing products and a proper sealant like Shea butter . That’s what help me with my high porosity hair, after I started using Shea butter I don’t have to moisturize every single day.

      hi sis long post alert ...
      I wash my hair once a week and I use the Creme if nature argon oil shampoo .
      I’ve been pre pooing with aloe before hand and always deep condition after washing
      To moisturize after this wash day I use
      Leave in :pure aloe gel on both sides. One
      side I used the mane choice / blueberry twist n shout cream . The other side I used Camille moisture milk and the almond jai butter. I removed excess product on both sides with a T-shirt
      When I took down my braids (completely dry) moisture was ok I expected way more softness and moisture . But the end of the day it felt like what I would except day 3 hair to look like .
      So I thought hmm maybe it’s because I didn’t seal with an oil . So last night I remoisturized with aloe juice ( spray bottle ) added Shea mosit coconut smoothie to one side added African prides oil to seal . The other side I use aloe juice the almond jai and sealed with castor .
      I took the braids down hrs later when completely dry only to find my hair feeling extra extra dry with oil. It felt like I had only put oils in my hair and nothing else.
      I’m so discouraged at this point I don’t know what to do. I think I am a high porosity natural because like I said moisture enters so easily but for the life of me I cannot find a product that keeps it moisturized .

      Healing andHappy hi sis so I’ve found my solution !!! Idk if you’ve been using aloe but that was the culprit ! I was basically over using it and didn’t realize it was making my hair dry . So I completely removed using also juice in my regimen . ( I’ll still use it biweekly one a powder for as my prepoos with other Ayurvedic powers) also another maaaaaaaajor game changer is putting in my leave in the shower !!! GIRL!!!! That changed my life 😭. curlycris on YT twist out series is a great example !!! Check her vids out and let me know how everything works out for you !

    For your hair to beer getting brittle you may need to deep condition and you might want to try using no oil for a few weeks so that the oils wouldn't block your hair follicles from gaining moisture

    Great tips. Thank you. The centre front of my hair to the crown I’ve just discovered is high porosity, whereas the rest is very low porosity 🙄 so I’m just educating myself on how to deal with it, and your info has been VERY helpful. I can leave the low po bits for a whole week. But the high Porosity I have to remoisturise nearly every day 😑. Another TH-camr said that pre pooing with Coconut oil really helped her hair, so I’m gonna be trying that suggestion.

    No one is really telling how to take care of high porosity hair from the twist out to the next wash day. Everyone gets you to the point of where you take down the twist out showing the beautiful curls and then "crickets". They tell you to moisturize, but dont tell you how. You're the first person that kind of hit on how to moisturize and take care of your twist out til the next wash day, so thank you!!!. Could you please do a more detailed video? I tried to wet my hair with water on day two of my twist out and I had an afro with curls on the end. I've been wearing wigs for some time and want to try the bantu knots and twist outs as I want to start wearing my beautiful curly hair. I can't find any more info on the maintenance and daily moisturize part. People will say "make sure you keep your hair moisturized" and then end the video. What the heck!!! Moisturize how? With what products? Do I wet just the scalp or the whole head? Do I redo the twist out every night before bed? Please help!!!

    • @UMALEONI
      @UMALEONI  4 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      gapeachsexy I personally don’t do any twist outs. What you’re seeing in the video is a fresh wash n go that was air dried! I moisturize between washes with a mix of water and a leave in conditioner or hair milk! I mix the two and spritz morning and night!

    @Beige Bunnie - My crown is the driest part of my hair. I'm going to try the tip you suggested (today) about leaving the leave-in on for about 15-20 with a cap before I apply the stylers.😊 This is a good tip...hope it works for me too.

    Mine sort of... Also drys out but i feel as though if i refresh half way through the week with a deep conditioner and seal with an oil its almost like i washed agian. I also soak my hair and do a nice rinse and cleanser free cleanse, befire i put my cowash in. It really helps clean my scalp especially since i have a manual labor job.
    Im curious if i can do a roller set or a curlformer set half way through the week to get like a looser managed curl or a straight hair thing going.
    I can't really drop a lot on products rigjt now so i been cowashing with vo5 or suave and sometimes i throw some acv in there.....

      NaturalChic 24 it seems like you’re using a lot of products, I would take stock of what you have and simplify. Aloe is great but depending on your porosity it won’t really moisturize. Camille rose has great leave ins, I prefer those, then use a styler, then use a gel (or something that has more hold) if you’re doing a protective style just seal with oil instead of using a gel. A good trick I discovered is letting your leave in marinate, so after you apply your leave in put on a plastic cap and leave it for 15-20 minutes then move on to your styling (it REALLY helps with deeply moisturizing). I don’t pre-poo, I prefer a clean slate because product buildup can prevent proper moisturizing. I’ve been natural since 05 and I didn’t really get ahold of what my hair likes and needs until the last 7 or so years. Make sure you get regular trims too! I always thought it wasn’t necessary but it so is

    • @JRD72
      @JRD72 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Beige Bunnie hi sis ! Thank you so much for your reply I just have a few questions .
      So right now after I prepoo I was it out so I’m usually moisturizing on clean deep conditioned hair . My biggest problem is I have no idea what my porosity is and I think that’s what’s messing me up . I do feel like moisture enters my hair very quickly cause I never see beads of water or product . But I recently tried the LOC method and my hair felt very dry on day one .
      Ok so when styling on freshly washed hair are you suggesting I use a leave in and that’s it ? So far I have the Camille moisture milk and I don’t think that’s heavy enough for my strands I tried remoisturizing on dry hair with that leave in , water and avocado oil and my hair still feels dry .( it’s not like thirsty but it’s like I feel a bit of moisture but mostly oil )
      Idk if I’m also setting up unrealistic expectations for my hair I wish I could feel the YT hair when they are saying their hair is moisturized ...is moisturized hair suppose to have a little crunch ?
      If you don’t mind can you post exactly what you do maybe I can give it a try ...
      The only time My hair feels silky soft is when I use shea moisture coconut smoothie on blow dried hair ... it’s like my hair has to be blow dried to get the ultimate moisture

    • @YourBeigeyness
      @YourBeigeyness 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      ❤️❤️❤️❤️ to test your porosity you can get a cup of water (room temp), after you wash your hair (whatever is shed) take a strand or two and put it in the cup of water, if it floats you have low porosity, if it sinks you have high porosity. If it’s in the middle it’s normal. You can also gauge by how long it takes your hair to absorb water in the shower and how long it takes to dry (if it gets wet quickly and dries quickly, you’re high porosity, if the opposite happens you’re low porosity). I have normal/high porosity and I prefer the LCO method over the LOC...that’s just me though.
      For styling: wash, deep condition (with a cap), use a leave in (with a cap for 15-20 minutes, use styler or bitter, then gel/custard (it’s kind of up to you and depending on what kind of hold you want). As far as moisture, for me I know my hair is moisturized when it is soft and feels kind of cool to the touch, it’s a hard concept to explain and someone once told me, when it’s moisturized, you’ll know. I thought they were crazy but they were right oddly enough

    • @YourBeigeyness
      @YourBeigeyness 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      My routines
      (Protective style): wash (I use Shea moisture Jamaican black castor oil but I usually get whatever is on sale, as long as it gets my hair clean I don’t care), deep condition for 30 minutes with a cap under heat (I have tons of DC so it changes depending on what my hair needs. (Some I use: curlific one from Sally’s, texture ID from Sally’s, JBCO from Shea moisture, TGIN honey mask). Leave in: Camille rose coconut water (use plastic cap for 15-20, no heat added). Camille rose almond jai butter. Whatever oil I have on hand (could be something I purchased or jojoba oil, I’m not picky) then style. I try to add some aloe Vera juice or a watery leave in to my protected hair once or twice a week and reseal with oil.

    • @YourBeigeyness
      @YourBeigeyness 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      (Wash n go): similar to above...wash, DC, and leave in are the same. I’ll use a styler (texture ID) and then use a gel (wetline) on top. Throughout the week I’ll refresh with aloe vera juice and a leave in (oyin honey dew
