'Bout time I funk U....yeah, I spent many a sleepless nights up in Boston dancing to that tune, (back in my High School days). Ironically, I bumped into him in Deltona, Fl when my daughter won a talent contest, and he was one of the judges. It's about time someone gives this man some recognition. And I remember Candy Girl when he made the New Edition, (which started the career of Bobby Brown). Then there was the white boy group New Kids in the Block that became stars. Maurice Starr, an incredibly gifted artist and idol maker.
I can imagine how it hit different hearing it back then! It sounds still hits today. I heard it for the 1st time while making the video. I knew of pac jam and space cowboy, but was unaware that he was behind it. It was wonderful learning and hearing all the songs and artist he has developed and/or worked with. Agreed, he is musically girfted.
I didn't even realize Maurice Starr was behind NK5, an early version of that group (I think they were going by a different name) performed at my high school in 2008-9 and they performed the I Like the Rain song. I remember one of the kids fell during the performance.
big fan of 90s and 2000s boy bands
