Brooke Payne is Ronnie Devoe’s uncle! Brooke Payne was NE choreographer before they entered the contest. Payne was the one who brought Ronnie Devoe in after Maurice Starr suggested a 5th member.

Let’s just say our singing group called ladies choice was suppose to be a a and r reps dream until we sang and got more press and applause than his artist ( his sons group - I forget their name ) but told them we not worth the pay . Hartford Connecticut- 97
This brought back a lot of memories for me as I recorded in the same studio as New Edition, New Kids on the block and perfect gentleman TCB Studios I. Boston. I know new kids on the block when they were little kids as I opened up for them in Somerset, Massachusetts.

But I believe it was Chris and ro of abC they pretty much said that they were paid in new shoes (Jordans) and that they were broke by the end of their career and along with that their parents didn't know the industry enough and got them signed to a bad deal something like that.But I think Boyz to men said something similar about having a bad deal. None of them seem to have any resentment towards Michael bivins now though.
