I have a Steiner 440. Glad to see Bobcat bought them up, as I don't have a service place anywhere nearby. I've done just about all repairs myself, and finding any blog or forums to help is rare, given there aren't many out there compared to Deere, Kubota, etc.
I love mine, and I still get people slowing down to watch as I mow 22 degree slopes on my drainage swale (I have the eight wheel).
Looks like a seventies design !
You don't need to be in Neutral to start and if you run it full throttle you will lessen the hydro whine.
Guess they want to compete against ventrac
Yeah, Bobcat bought Steiner and this is a Steiner 450 painted with Bobcat colors. I have a Steiner 450 and this is almost identical. The biggest difference is Bobcat's front fenders are plastic, Steiner's are metal.
It’s a copy paste. Same engine same everything haha. Just different brand name
@@camacdav000 No, it was a family company that split. Steiner and Ventrac started as the same thing. Articulated Steiner uses foot pedals for F/R, Ventrac uses levers. There are many similarities, but many differences where the parts are NOT interchangeable. Implements are, and so are Kubota engines, etc.
@@Kopernicus67 aahhh I didn’t know this! I’d prefer foot pedals. I have a ventrac & after a long day of using it on hills & all my arm gets sore after being in one position for a long time
@@camacdav000I have a Steiner 450 and much prefer the hand control for forward and reverse. The pedals still work so you have the option to use either or at any time.
I can't even imagine how expensive this is.
$30,000+
