Fantastic! I have 2 boys who are now 13 and 16, I have never been a believer of the "good job" and" everyone is a winner" mentality. I often get some flack about it. It's nice to hear that what I am teaching my boys is how to bounce back and have grit. I know it has served me well throughout my life.

I heard someone once say about doing a really hard (dare I say) near impossible thing to an employee-- don't tell me all the reasons it can't be done. Tell me, better yet show me in as many steps as you like, how it can be done. I believe(with all my heart) this is how the impossible becomes possible.
Teach your kids to withhold gratification so they are more intelligent...but only to make them greater capitalist to have greater "success" and be able to have "more of the pie" thank you ted talks, always so "informative" and "community building"

The conscious effort to execute the steps or have the self-discipline to play the musical passage slowly, repeatedly and with enough self control that the student stops performing the error and can then integrate the now refined/correctly played passage into the song as a whole?
She is clearly passionate. Too bad she didn't put any thought into what she was talking about. Most of what she is saying is stuff that has already been said and in the same words. This could have been so much better if she understood the concepts rather than just repeating what she read. Watch the vid if you like but here's what she says condensed (some of which is not very well thought out): Don't let kids do things unsupervised. Don't let kids on the internet. Process is important, not just results. Give your kid(s) a growth mindset. Don't give generic praise for whatever your child does, give specific feedback. Talent doesn't exist. Find some way to teach your kid to strive for something beyond the first hurdle. Raise a kid to become normal by American standards. And here's the ultra-condensed version of all parenting wisdom ever written or unwritten: Pay attention to your damned kids. At all times. You're tired? You're stressed? You want some time to do something for yourself? Too bad. Pay attention to your damned kids. You made them, now you have to train them.
The sad truth is: No, Parents(despite being uniquely positioned to be the best of all possible teachers) do not have to teach their own progeny. Which is why Simon Sinek has become such a recognized advocate for millennials.
There are wise parents in this world that do not give their children or teens devices that connect to the internet….It’s up to the parents to be parents;)
Instant gratification is like sugar. But I dont necessarily think that it's a wretched seed demon from the depths of children hearts. She's far too into this instant gratification that it doesn't give any leg room towards anyone who might be guilty of this which is a good percentage of people

But theoretical and applied maths, geopolitics, history, or in general all the knowledge that has a logic, needs to be known. But the sole memorisation of isolated information is completely useless, indeed a simple algorithm can do it better.
Learning useless stuff like history, philosophy, English, math, speech is a complete waste of time and accounts for 20k in net loss. Approximately enough to pay down an 20k home.
