I was definitely a bit salty this day 😣 I know I didn't really play my best either this match. I was too focused on what others were doing, instead of figuring out the best way to carry and play the game and try to have fun
In my gold games, most dps or other roles are just afraid of high ground, they wanna be with the team but sometimes you've gotta make a play and try to make space
I've came back to the game in the past month after a long break and feel so much of what you're saying in this and the state of the game video as a D1/D2 tank player. The less I actively engage in the game, the more passive I play, the better it goes. Force their tank to be proactive and manage their cooldowns perfectly to get value. The amount of times I've been in this exact situation of people unwilling to take free real estate is mad. I don't know if it's just a DPS fear to press W since they can get blown up by the whole cast unless they're playing a meme hero but it feels awful.
Hawk says there is one right decision to make on tank and twelve wrong decisions on tank, the right decision is to sit there and live and just wait for your dps or support to get a kill
I agree with you, that said, 1:06, not a good engage. You jumped in from a far distance, taking damage before you landed, and you jumped into a melee team who could shred you. Id wait a little longer to engage, rotate around more on high ground and fall on them, so you can save your jump to escape. Your team was poorly positioned, but you also made a bad play. These are the notes we gotta give ourselves on tank, because good timing and engagements are how we win. Stay strong bro.
@@Rocky_Module announcing your dive doesn't change the fact that it was a bad dive. You don't want to jump across the map, into 5 enemies all grouped up around a corner, when they have a Mei, Zarya and Brig. He landed with no armor, because he got shot at while jumping in, and had no jump to get out when he got walled. The second fight was way better, as he rotated around and fell into the team, rather than jumping into the team. Tank is a game of position and cooldowns.
This is good advice for dps and support, but for dive tanks remember not all characters have the same mobility that you do and will need some time to get into position, give time for grandma ana to walk up the stairs.
Dps not capitalizing on open and giving space is a major problem on console. Everyone just shoots at the tank on console because they dont open new angles. Thats why Zarya, Dva and counter picking is so popular on console. I know most of yall dont play OW on console so you guys probably wouldnt know the struggle on console
What's hilarious is that he would have won that first fight if it was againt me. Why? Because I also would be playing zarya, and when I see winston jumped alone away from his team, I would for sure push the choke to see who all is there unguarded. You know who isnt going to go to the choke with me, and instead back up and focus on the winston halfway across the map? My entire team. I die, winston dives, we lose the fight. Its incredible.
if you see a winston mei-walled off from his team and directly in fromt of you amd you choose to walk around the mei wall and shoot anyone else you deserve to lose
i understand what you are saying, but its your job as a tank to set up the dps just as much as the dps need to assist you. you acknowledge you have a widow and she isnt with you but you still leap in, get walled, zarya bubbles and you die. if you have a widow/ashe dps lineup you can not make dives around corners where you widow gets no value. even if she was in a better position to help you. the entire enemy team had all cooldowns, including mei wall to block off los and two bubbles to cover enemies. very little a widow can do there regardless of where she is. you acknowledge 30 seconds into the game "i have a widow and my team isnt listening to me" but you dont change your gameplay style at all to accommodate, which ultimately costed you the game
3:36 im confused why you didnt chase the widow who just used grapple and instead primal'd the full charge zarya? you move your crosshair to where shes grappling, so you clearly see her. but for some reason you leap back and primal the full hp zarya into a corner while their widow kills 2?
Because we're running Ashe Widow I don't really have to fight/contest the widow. I just need to make space and distract others enough for my widow to peek their widow without disruption. If I fight the widow with primal there she'll just get bubble'd and healed and probs won't die. Then the zarya would just run my team over. I take the tank out of the fight while forcing cd's from others to make space and force the important cd's out. The dps lineup relies on picks to win so I just need to give them the space and opportunity to take shots freely. I don't actually have to kill anything
It is great that you are playing smart on distracting....but you also keep rushing forward (aka run off). Leaving your team open (example...leaving your Lucio behind to get kill) Your DPS aren't reacting fast enough or getting into positions because you are moving to fast for them but I guess your DPS should of switch for a better character that can keep up & move to different positions quickly. Or you can adapt with your team movement. But that is the main issue with Overwatch....people don't know how to play as a whole unit (aka teamwork).

All ow players know anymore is “tank throwing” even when the tank is doing nothing wrong
I went 41-2 today on doom, lost, and my team said tank diff while our runner up was 21-16

Dont worry about gold players brother. Lmao. They all play selfishly. You need to play selfishly and correctly and youll reach plat 1 easy.
Every dps in diamond and above play like plats these days like seriously!!
The rank reset, some rise up and some fall. Hell I went from silver to gold after the reset

If your entire team shoots the bubble the bubble disappears and you can actually punish overly aggressive Zarya players

In OW solo queue. U have to play for his own life, his lucio sitting on his butt and then dying when he jumps out isnt his fault
