This is one of my Old Haunts. I grew up in Monterey. Used to surf here, party, see concerts and have a blast. Im 54 now and remember being at the Boardwalk during the filming days of The Lost Boys. Such nostalgia. The whole vib made The Boardwalk an actual character of the movie with its dark , fun allure and noisy distractions when the Vampires came to town. Wonderful video, put together very well. Concise and fun.
As someone who is in the Midwest who has never been to CA, this is a dream come true. I am glad you put the effort into doing this and sharing more than so many others who have shot "location" videos. If I ever get to the area I would love to visit to Boardwalk. Thanks for sharing great content, I just joined to get you one more to 1,000 viewers.
This was really well done! I like how you incorporated clips from other times we’ve been there over the years. A fun and informative video about a movie when vampires came to Santa Cruz 🏖️ 🧛🏽♂️
It's fascinating how much still looks so similar after all these years! I was last there in 1997 on a children's theatre tour, but our schedule was so tight we only got to visit the boardwalk for about an hour. The one other time I've been was on spring break in 1990 with friends from San Francisco, so I have photos of the downtown with some buildings still in rubble. I never knew the train trestle was somewhere else! I just figured they set up the shots (and covered with fog) so it would look higher. The pedestrian walkway at the time was wooden decking boards, so we figured they must have removed some of them temporarily to expose the steel frame. Turns out we were in the wrong place entirely! 😄
The name of the restaurant was called the sea cloud My father was the manager when they filmed there
