    The tail-lights do pop out, as does the front turbine. You still did a great job, brother.

    I'm from Japan. I think that everyone who bought this product probably wants to paint it, but I'm not confident that disassembling it will take this much time. I understand well that it seems impossible to assemble it. I will consider a method of painting with only masking. Thank you for the very informative video. Thank you for your hard work.

      Thank you! Just masking it will also work, it will just take a lot more attention to detail but you can totally do it!

    I have only just begun to do any sort of modeling. Last time I did something like this it was 1979.
    I’m in no way ready to do anything like this but maybe someday I will get there. I bought a couple figures off eBay that were broken and bought the parts to fix, but painting is difficult for me.

  • @ScottAT
    @ScottAT 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    I would have assumed with all the effort you would have clear coated it as well

    yes sir the front Turbine detail and indeed the back silver parts to come off there although on mine one of the silver glue parts were glued in a bit better it seams - but i just levered that one back and snapped it off, as i can just glue it back with Araldite two part epoxy glue. but yes what is glued and what is not can vary i suppose.

    • @billybeigecustoms
      @billybeigecustoms  ปีที่แล้ว

      With more masking you shouldn't have to take it apart as much as I did. It's just the canopy being Grey that you have to take care of first then. After that could use a clear matte coat.

  • @GodParticleZero
    @GodParticleZero ปีที่แล้ว +2

    How did you get those side intakes out? I had mine taken apart except for those. The front turbine just pops out. Going with satin black because the real car had a weird paint that mimicked a beetle shell according to the experts

    • @billybeigecustoms
      @billybeigecustoms  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I had to press in on the tab close to the silver exhaust/metal tubing on the inside. It hooks in at the end of the intake, but tabs in by the silver parts. I was able to push the first one hard with my finger and second and pushed with the side of the screwdriver.

      @@billybeigecustoms Awesome. Thanks for that explanation. It's a puzzle taking stuff apart sometimes haha

  • @a.q.gonzales9835

    i hope you could also rework the inside and make a 2 seater Batmobile - thats the thing that bugs me, were going back to the Kenner era in 2023 sheesh!.....this really fits well with the 6" figures and not those elongated versions that "Mc-Kenner" is doing like the Neca , SHFand Mezco 1989 Batman

    just curious after sprying the black paint do you use any coat paint to protect the paint ?

    • @billybeigecustoms
      @billybeigecustoms  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I did hit it with a clear matte coat after because I didn't do a second matte black coat.

  • @Frambhueee

    Nice video, if I'm honest I'm a purist with this car, so I see all errors and mistakes no matter who made it. I'm pretty bad that way, lol. Not your fault at all, but that canopy is shocking and where are the gas caps Todd....

    • @billybeigecustoms
      @billybeigecustoms  ปีที่แล้ว

      And aren't the rims embelm silverish on the 89 too?

    • @KeatonCar89
      @KeatonCar89 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@billybeigecustoms yes the wheel inner hubs were brass/gold and only the top facing bat logos on the wheels were silver. To be truthful the 89 original paint had green and purple hues to give it the glossy look of a beetle. Not the high gloss of the Returns paint

    • @KeatonCar89
      @KeatonCar89 ปีที่แล้ว

      The matte grey colour the car had before the Flash film was a new paint for the Hero #1 car to tour show events for OnStar

  • @McFarlaneDragonClan
    @McFarlaneDragonClan ปีที่แล้ว +1

    It's a fair and accurate 89 style Batmobile for the new Flash movie as is. It's for the movie Flash. The minute difference or "differences" is to differentiate the 89Batman movie Batmobile from the new Flash movie"89 style Batmobile with sleeker and up to date features! Michael Keaton's hair and belt are different as well.

    For the money McFarlane makes off the batmobiles the fans shouldn’t have to touch it up.I get it can be fun but you shouldn’t have to repair your toy according to accuracy.

    • @luciferfernandez7094
      @luciferfernandez7094 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I’m sorry, I’m not repainting a brand new toy. I’m very capable; it’s just more than any customer should have to deal with when buying a $60-70 (or more) toy. Almost every single review notes how terrible the canopy looks, and how they are anxious to “fix it”. As a Batmobile fan (I literally have hundreds), I would not have this flimsy plastic piece in my collection, unless it was $25 or less. I canceled my own order, just a few hours before it was due to ship, due to the ugly colors on this one. This new McF Batmobile might have just killed my fandom.

    Fix?!? There's nothing wrong with it.

    • @pennygadget7328
      @pennygadget7328 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If you want to get nitpicky, literally every part is wrong in some way. The color, the canopy, the lights, the side mechanics, the afterburner, the exhaust, the intakes, the vents, gun doors... you've got missing foot pads, the interior is entirely incorrect save the basic silhouette of the one seat, there are extra seams where there shouldn't be any but also missing seams right next to them, no gas caps, missing fin arches on the fenders, incorrect "Six Flags" rear end, pinched turbine opening, oversized turbine within that opening, elongated wheel hubs, missing windshield wipers, no2 headlight colors on what is ostensibly the no1 car, and the whole thing is 1/12 despite being made for 1/10 figures.
      I love mine, but it's got 100 problems and 98 of them are not related to budget at all.

    • @BayleyCat3
      @BayleyCat3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@pennygadget7328 well... Did anybody stop to think that this isn't the actual 1989 batmobile. It probably looks like this, colors, differences in body and all... And everyone is saying they're fixing theirs. Todd usually like 99.99999% of the time makes figures, vehicles etc to the T of the source material whether it be comic, movie or what. So I just don't think it's a fix. That's my opinion and you're entitled to yours as well. Only my thoughts.

    • @pennygadget7328
      @pennygadget7328 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@BayleyCat3 It literally is the 1989 Batmobile, as in the the car used in The Flash is the original Evans' #1 car built at Pinewood back in '88, as has been confirmed through set photos and crew commentary.
      It has been retouched over the years for Returns, the OnStar commercials, and the 2012 Batmobile doc, but those changes have been largely relegated to paint, wipers, subtle side mechanics alterations (likely to assist Ohrberg in replication for the stunt/effects versions for Returns) and some literal tape behind the front wheel well. None of those changes are represented in this toy. Now it is entirely possible that there's some bizarro CG version in the movie that matches this, but the car they've shown on the set and in the ads has been the Evans original as it's been since 2012.
