Very useful. I appreciate that you are not wasting the more advanced viewers' time explaining for the 100th time "how T/S lenses work" but actually showing the important points about their use, namely the exact placement of the lens to avoid distortion of important objects in the frame and using the movements to get the desired final composition. Also the bit about adjusting the chairs and the faucet was a useful reminder that one needs to think about all aspects of the image before pressing the shutter. The Fuji GF30 will be an awesome lens, especially given its electronic integration with the GFX camera bodies - something that to date has only been available with the much more expensive Phase One XT.

I have to point out that there are tripod collars for the 17 and 24mm canon lenses although not made or sold by canon. I bought one for my 17mm and the difference in shooting experience is very noticeable

True, I should have mentioned it but it’s nice that Fuji lens comes with it.

Just an fyi you can buy TSE frames from Rogeti which will allow you to do the same, i.e. move the canera while keeping the lens stationary with canon TSE lenses. I do it with 24mm and 50mm tse on my gfx100s.

Excellent piece! Thank you. I did wonder about his thought about the lighting dynamics in the scene, though.

This test wasn’t about the dynamics, but that said I was able to output very good files with details in both highlights and shadows.

Great episode, I'm a P1 shooter but for portrait work. I use the XF body and love the prism finder and WLF. I also love using old Mamiya glass including sometimes an old Mamiya 50mm Shift. On the used market the P1 has been pretty affordable. And although I used mirrorless for a lot of my other work I truly love optical viewfinder on the P1

More videos like this! So nice to see a real professional using new gear, not just some jabroni that makes TH-cam videos for a living!

Lol. you weren't the only one. We usually have spares but that day we didn't have a charged backup and cut it close. Thanks for watching.

I have the GFX 100 II and love it. I am interested in this lens, but more interested in the 110 mm TS. But who knows, one day I might get them both...

For now I am happy using Canon 90mm tse ii. I hear 135mm F4 tse is also excellent

informative episode. If I could only get that damn lens already.... Purchased on launch day and still waiting here in USA. So sick of shooting on the 24 canon + GFX.

I am a Canon shooter at present, but Fuji's medium format system is quite the enticing option. I would probably look at a GFX 100S or 100 Mark II. I would be more inclined to be interested in it if it had the Hasselblad H system's sensor size over the smaller one Sony has developed.

You can buy either hasselblad or the phase one just be ready to pay much higher prices for that bigger sensor which I think is still made by Sony.
