In my opinion I think the oculus quest 2 is better cause you dont need another device for it to be linked and it has a long lasting battery life,can run steam vr games,dont need controllers you can use your hands as controller

Sony don't have deep enough pockets to compete with something like the oculus quest
The point of creating a VR headset made for a console is to make it quite cheap compared to PC headsets. Making VR possible for those who have a limited budget on expensive hardware. So i think that this design would be a bit to high-end and therefore it would also be quite expensive. Still though, would be great if they could make this possible for a good price.

@A Dog on release , years later it wouldn't be. Also they would likely consider this and create one of a lower calibre of quality to make it affordable for all players. I had PSVR (the updated one) and I enjoyed it at first but after the novelty worn off I realised that's just all it was. Novelty. It has soooo much potential to be more though! In the future, I expect that we will see various types of VR that supercede what I was hoping for with PSVR.
It was too expensive imo. For a product like that it should have been about 40% cheaper. If I recall, it was about the same price as an actual PS4!!
Too many wires, too much hassle to set up (both physically and calibration in game using the camera and PS Move controllers) and the headset could have been more comfortable (apparently it was more comfortable than the previous version too so I can't imagine how uncomfortable that one was!).
The graphics weren't amazing either. Resolution too low and the colour seemed a bit dull. Some of the movement controls were bad too but that is gonna be an issue until that treadmill device is out and affordable.
VR has been about since the 90s (probably longer to the military) so I think it's poor to say this is all the progress they have made over the decades.
On the bright side, it can be fun for the odd occasion and lots of free software. Haven't watched VR porn on it (I tried to tho aha) but I imagine it's great xD

Would be badass if the main console companies basically made super powerful competitors to the Oculus Quest that just had an HDMI port on them so you could still set it down on a table and plug it into your TV to play traditional video games.
Imagine how much the VR industry would boom if the PlayStation 6 was literally just a VR headset you can plug into your TV.

Wish this was real. Can I say, even though it’s a small detail, I love how you put the old PS3 move logo on the controller straps. Only reason sadly I would say Sony would say no is because of the microsd card slot.

Awesome job !! I have different ideas for the controls. Tbh id love for someone to come out with a glove like design you slip onto your hands and with certain hand gestures you can play the different games which program their own custom gestures depending on genre and game. Sticks are outdated by this point. Why press triggers to pick items up when you can just create the gesture with your hands and have the item in your hand and be able to throw it by swinging and releasing the item from your hands.
There is such gloves but they would cost as much as ps5 and psxr together so not realistic at all

With a few flaws that can be worked though so I think if they were going wirelessly they gotta figure something out storage wise cause I think it would save a lot of people money if you can just use the storage on you PS5 and also scrap the battery on the arm and make a dedicated part on the headset that is rechargeable so you don't have to have a bulky battery on but if you want to have a battery on your headset to extend the play time to have alternative chouces for both kinds of people and also this isn't a flaw but something that should be addressed eye strain I think adding the blue light feature would be a wonderful idea but I think they could go further cause when playing a vr headset it's basically like looking straight into a tv screen so if they won't people to use these things and get the most out of them they should look into that

looking good, but they dont have Fucll Tracking correct ? So my legs and hips dont work for VRchat or other Full Tracking support games.

All I‘m hoping for is that the Camera is either on the headset or that you can mount it on the wall or something but the Camera we got right now is not the best in rooms that are big enough to play but not huge!

But you have made one glaring mistake... You show it with an SDXC slot. This is Sony we're talking about - you know it's either going to be a new Memory Stick Pro, or a completely new proprietary storage device! Sony don't do cheap, easily accessible storage formats! 😂

the one design flaw: flip up display. it will make it so the headset will never sit right on your face and you wont have the sweetspot. also not good for a variety of faces

This is a game changer. This could turn a lot of VR players to switch from overpriced PC to Consoles VR solution. This looks better even than Reverb G2 and I expect a similar fair price as well.
Well done Sony, maybe I will buy PS5 now even I'm PC user and using PS only occasionally for PES or FIFA play with friends. I'm even interested in PSVR hack for PC to fly DCS with it.

Controller's: i love the controller design! I hate that the current move controllers dont have joy sticks! If sony made this i hope they add joy sticks! I would hope it would be equipped with finger tracking.
The battery charger/docking station/arm band/belt: this is an amazing idea! Would definitely give you options for wireless or wired without being too bulky!
I also like how simple it is to just plug in to PS5 with only 1 cable. I hope Sony has figured out a way to do this without a big bulky box attachment like on PSVR.
Headset: i really don't care what it looks like i just hope it is comfy! But this fan made concept looks fantastic! Definitely matches the ps5 theme! The cameras would be interesting how they get implemented! Like would they replace the big lights on the VR? Is that where the tracking would take place?
VR Cam: if tracking is done using vr cameras, i would love it if you could connect multiple cameras together for better tracking. I noticed on the original that any time you turn around tracking is limited. I would like to set up 2-4 cameras for super accurate tracking. I would place one in front of me, behind me, left, and right. That way when one cam cant see the sensors, there are 1-3 more cameras to pick it up. Would make tracking more accurate!.
I know people are saying that Sony said that they wont make more vr stuff but that could easily be a lie.

Looks good ,all you have to do now Sony is get customers to give their PS5 serial number when purchasing the new PS VR Headset so it stops scalpers trying to buy them all up .
Okay thr interchangeble battery is actually genius. To actually be able to have a charging dock and just swap them when you drain one💯🔥 what i would like to see from the controller side is the controller actually shaped/curved to fit the hand like the oculus quest controllers. I really hoping if when the VR XR or whatever it called then come out there is a new gme from Rigs! Really love this one. There are much games for VR but not enought for now. Also the games at the beginning are a way better then all what comes after.
2:21 the controller wouldn't work, the buttons and triggers are too far up the band if that's supposed to track tension in your grip. just thought i'd point that out, other then that looks good.

What I love about my PS VR is it super glasses friendly. I bought the quest 2 and it a struggle to have it on right.
