Father was dropping some major truth 💣s ! 🙏 What a beautiful prayer to our Holy Mother at the end as well. Thank you, Father. God Bless. I need to work on the virtue opposite the vice of sloth. I get depressed, and am a slave to fear. So I avoid carrying my crosses. Lord give me strength to fight myself!
@@leonafrances7612 Thanks for saying 🙏 I feel like this one isn't spoken of too much, but is a real problem for those of us that live in first world nations. We really haven't had too many burdens forced on us. Even when things go wrong, and we are hurt, it isn't too difficult to just hide from our troubles. The mantra of "you do you" or "do what's right for you" makes it easy to use task avoidance or escapism, and I think many of us fall into those habits without ever being called out on them. This is my struggle. To hold myself accountable.
I've suffered depression myself, anytime you are thinking negative thoughts, try to offer them to God, for the conversion of sinners. Have great faith in God's love for you, and try to have hope in God's mercy regarding your past.
The beautiful prayer at the end sounds like something from the writings of St. Alphonsus Liguori. It expresses true holy confidence rather than the presumption we sometimes hear promoted under the guise of 'Divine Mercy.'
Thank you so much Father! It is great to know when we experience torture from abuse of authority Our Mother Mary experience my same struggles! Her purity and extremely humbleness step on the head of the serpente. I know she will never live us! The world will concour sin through the intersection of Our Virgen Mary's and by the grace of priest to continu to celebrate mass. The purity of priest is a sptep ahead to conversions of souls.
"As thou have yielded your members..." that is the exact word I have been looking for: yielded. That describes the process. When it comes to discerning the spirit I will now say, "Is this from God? No? Then, by the grace of God, I shall not yield."
@@owen5023 Not disagreeing at all. Overall this was a great homily. But starting out with a vision of Purgatory being full of sadistic, infernal tortures runs counter to other authoritative descriptions. The suffering in Purgatory is being within reach of God and Paradise yet having to wait as the special fire of purification cleanses the soul. It is not punishment per se that would resemble a circle in hell from Dante. I hope I've clarified that. And as St Thomas Aquinas said; "Virtue is its own reward."
Vice is moral or wicked behavior. I guess the more we sin in a particular way, if we do not try to fight against it, it becomes a vice or a habitual sin. Sin is an offence against God.
Thank you to the channel owner for producing and putting out such Catholic truth and lessons for learning. Can I ask if it is possible to have a list of specific virtues to help in overcoming vices? Somehow, there is need to re-learn what have not been formed properly. Again, thank you to the channel owner and may God continue to bless you and your work.
The Resurrection is coming chstisy is love in its proper order. To counter lust, grow in right ordered love. Some examples are acts of charity and patience with the people you live with, co workers, etc. Growing in authentic friendship and fostering fellowships
The Lords hand is much stronger than the vice, it is up to us whether we want to hold on to the Lords hand or let go. You and the Lord are stronger than Lucifer's lies, you can do it.. YOU WILL DO IT!!
Confession, frequently. Attend daily mass. Read the Bible daily. Pray the rosary daily. Avoid anything that “tickles” your fancy, like tv, books, magazines, music. That’s how I defeated the vice. Been chaste for 19 years and it gets easier the more you practice! The joy that Jesus and Mary bring is way more amazing and lasts all day.
You pray to be chaste, and pray for purity, have great devotion to Our Blessed Mother, for she is the purest of creatures. Avoid occasions of sin. Take away the temptation, say if someone watches impure things, avoid watching TV all together.... Just an example
Go to Mass DAILY, pray the Rosary DAILY. be extreme. Get rid of electronics. Be a crazy Catholic, pretend you're on fire with love for God and over time you WILL BE! The grace will pour from there sacraments.. I didn't used to believe as much, I was a rationalist, like I thought I had to do it on my own strength.. but I'm ACTUALLY stronger and have over come life long vices since going daily to visit Jesus!!! The grace and help from God-- it's REAL
I think taking yourself away from the person that you are lusting after, practicing custody of the eyes, praying when you are tempted, but having a very faithful prayer life and going to the sacraments, especially confession to ask the advice of the priest. I would thoroughly recommend traditional Latin mass
Think about what emotional state you were in before and at time of temptation. We might be trying to meet our very true needs in ways that hurt us further. And then we never deal with the underlying issues. Ask God to show you by the His Spirit what led up to it all. What you could have done differently. What you’ll do the next time. God cares so much about you and wants to give you freedom and joy. He’s not trying to keep anything good from you. He can heal your heart and transform your mind. Have a plan. Know your triggers. Keep getting back up and taking it seriously! I know this was a long time ago that you posted. This is more for someone reading. You can learn about yourself and your real underlying issues. I’m proud of you for working on your part.
I have been including anxiety in my weekly confessions and every day at mass lately, for I came to realize anxiety is in part a problem of not trusting God. However, it is also a bad habit, developed after a time of any kind of suffering or mourning, so after going to a lot of doctors and taking a lot of medication, I discovered The Linden Method by chance, please check it out and give it a chance, do everything but what is considered New Age (he recomends yoga as a complement, for example). I went through it with a priest and it is totally safe and scientific and it works. I now pray for Charles Lindes, who is english and not a catholic, but he does a lot of good to humanity. Hope this helps you.
I agree with you Father thank you for your spiritual instructions. But I don’t understand nor do I agree that women should not be payed the same as a man for the same work. Men and women treated equally under the civil law etc. I am a feminist and a Conservative Catholic I don’t see how that is sinful,
You are either growing in virtue or growing in vice!!! Perfectly said..

Good point. Everyone can agree that purgatory is going to be a painful experience, whatever awaits us there
