I have a three decade old Craftsman professional lineman's pliers that still work very well to this day. I'm not an electrician by any means but I have cut many a wire with it.
I like Klein. I've been using a pair of the standard dark blue handle version for a couple years now. I just put new Klein Kote grips on them. I have a brand new pair of HD2000s to replace them when they eventually wear out. I started with Knipex, they were nice, but I didn't care for comfort grips and the crimper and I never used the fish tape puller. I'd be willing to use them again but in the basic version. I would love to try Channellock lineman pliers, I like the price point.
Yea, I just don't use mine everyday anymore, its more of a hammer in the factory life. I did snag a klein last year and its been the linesman in my box since
@@IndustrialMaintenance true, just sucks if i do need to replace them, i cant. I just liked the leverage I could get from the extra long handles. The 9.5" ones are pretty close
They have different applications. I find my Channellocks the easiest to use; no break-in period, and the anvil cutter is a soft snap. Maneuverable head, but the small pivot is a bit concerning. So far it's held up. Knipex has the most accurate cutters that matches up perfectly for that snap. Very maneuverable head and comfortable. and The Klein is a beast; doubles as a hammer; wider jaws are good for holding multiple wires. But the Klein is a bitch to break in and a bit cumbersome to use. After owning all for a while, the cutter is robust but requires more force than either CL and knipex. They are all different. The Milwaukee is garbage, the cutter had divots in them after cutting one 8-32 screw. The plier also doesn't do any job particularly well. They all have their uses, but I think the Klein and CL complements eachother well and Excel in different places.
@@IndustrialMaintenance for sure. I think people just have to realize that there is no best. Everyone so caught up in this brand warfare. Each tool excels only at very few things. Of course, then there are the shitty tool that no one wants :)
@@MintStiles agreed haha. Hell I've had hyper tough wrench set (standard) for 5 years now and there doing fine. There not as nice as my joker set for metric but they get the job done
I hear your reviews but you’ve got to have a pair of pre-your age Clines they are absolutely incredible same size had shorter player handle more grip better leverage everything try old-school pair before you get really Judge Klein M Klein and sons Chicago USA
Pre 1986 kleins probably ain't easy to find. I got a short pair from 1990ish that I like but I'm not gonna look for a old pair when it's not something most won't look for
Great video man! I bought a pair of those dual pivot crescent ones and I really like them. It would be cool if you gave them a try. Thanks for sharing!!
How do you like the kleins vs the greenlees? How did your rivet on your greenlees get that bad?? Im looking to potentially get a pair of the greenlees. Do they snap when they cut wires like the knipex?
Greenlee I used as a hammer a lot. I'd honestly go with Klein to be honest. I don't use linesman pliers much anymore. Once a week maybe. I'm a knipex fan boy so nothing beats a knipex haha
@@IndustrialMaintenance Yea knipex is pretty good. I have some knipex linesmans I use for industrial, but I like how the kleins cut 14/2. I think of knipex as more finesse and precise, and klein as more heavy duty. Same thing for side cutters, I like my kleins for reno work but knipex for industrial. Btw that guy mike is an asshole belew lmaoo, do your thing dont listen to the haters.
Milwaukee lines and dikes are probably the worst hand tools on the market. I’m a Klein guy but kind of want to try some other brands like crescent or kobalt.

U know i love my channellocks... i dont think they even make the pair i like anymore. I believe the part # was 3610
Yea but why replace if we don't have to so by the time we need a new pair, most are on a new model

@@IndustrialMaintenance no commercial electric? 😝

How would you like to try Vampire Tools VAMPLIERS?
Thought about it. But haven't got a chance to buy one... there needle nose ones though... I'd love to test
Lineman's pliers are out, combination pliers are in and are more useful.
I still use linesman more I think
