Fab pastry for covering a thick chicken and mushroom pie filling in a large soup mug to bake in the oven . I used cambells mushroom consommé added to the chicken and English garden peas in the sauce too
Mind blown 🤯 I will admit I haven’t watched every rough puff video out there, but all the ones I have watched still tell you to laminate with the book folds which seemed just as time consuming and annoying as proper puff pastry to me. I’m totally going to try this method! I don’t use pastry often, but I happened to read ingredients on the store bought pastry recently and most of them use margarine. I won’t put margarine on my toast so why would I want it in my pastry! The only one with actual butter is $5.35 for 3 little square sheets which is just ridiculous. All shortcrust pastry has margarine, and they’re in the annoying little squares too, so I decided on the odd occasion I want pastry I’ll make it myself. I was a little unsure about whether I would bother with puff though. I will now! Thank you Mrs V!
Jam Taaa-ahhh-aarrrtts!! (is just the way I was singing to you when I realised what you were making first. You hardly ever see them anymore and yet they are so ridiculously easy to make. Like Fairy Cakes and Melting Moments these are the memories of my childhood. I'd be at the side of the table (like Frankie lol) and then I'd be given the scraps of the pastry and a milk bottle, and I'd be doing the 'Fanny Craddock Show' Rolling out my own pastry next to my Mum. The start of my love affair with baking. They look just fabulous Bev, I'd have no bother at all clearing that plate. I expected Howie to grab it and run 😅 closely followed by the hounds!! 😂
Wow, that is some beautiful pastry. Appreciate just knowing that you all are still doing well enough! Thank you for sharing with us who just love to see you and hear the both of you.
You make it look so easy. I will do this and hope I don't end up with hockey pucks as I always do when attempting to bake any pastry. I am guessing the "do not knead" is the key. Blessings. 😀
Christine Brush I don't see why not but when you saw it out don't rush it do it for 24 hours in the fridge rather than on the counter to room temperature
This is so Wonderful!! I am so sick of paying $4.99 for a box of frozen puff pastry!! Now, I can make my own for pennies & have a homemade delicious product!! You are just the most awesome gal!! Merry Christmas ~!!!
Of all your videos I like when you do baking the best, you explain everything so it is easy to understand. I think you should make a pastry cook book next. Those turnovers where my favorite.
You have the perfect voice and attitude I might add for doing these videos!! :) I'm 68 and have always been afraid of pastry. You make it look so simple I just might have to give it a try. Our 50th wedding anniversary is on Oct. 29th so maybe I can whip (or try to) some up for my husband who loves blueberries. Thank you so much for the videos and for teaching an old woman new tricks!!
Tim's wife here. Thanks for this video. I love puff pastry, and this is so much easier. I don't have any jam's or anything at the moment, so I took some cream cheese and added some homemade powdered lemon sugar. More lemon than sugar...mixed real good, and once the pastry is chilled, I'm gonna try it out! Can't wait! Thanks again eh!!!
OHMYGOSH!!! My girls were just asking me the other day if I knew how to make the "dough turnovers come in". I said no. And here is your video!!! My husband loves turn-overs. I can't wait to try this! (After fair week coming up -- we'll be camping there -- We got a spot in the overflow space -- YIPPEE!). Thanks Bevvie!!!!!!
Bev/I started my second wedding Quilt tonite. I'm using jelly rolls. So I'm ironing them and they are cut wonky! Not all but about 8 strips. So I freaked out and googled for more fabric/found it on Etsy and on sale! But it gets the wheels turning on how you can work with wonky fabric and maybe changing the pattern. Don't look at my hair-quilting is giving me gray hairs!!❤️you!!!
Amazing!! I always watch your channel but never comment. I just want to thank you because I always learn something new when I watch. You are so much fun. Have a great day!!------Tressa Daigle
Beautiful can't believe how easy you make this look. Sure hope it's that easy for me cause hubby wants some peach turnovers. Thank you for sharing xoxo
That looks so easy and simple! I think I'll have to half the recipe though since my food processor is tiny. I have some sour cherry jam my MIL made me I want to make turn overs now!
8.24.17 ~ Thank you, Bev! Such a simple recipe for making the dough & delicious looking treats. I shall be making these once the weather gets a bit cooler & turning on the oven does double duty as a heat source, also. We continue to enjoy homemade tomato soup, using your tasty recipe. Thank you for that recipe, too! God bless!
Thank you for this recipe. My family enjoyed it very much this evening. My grandson said " It's better than the stores. You should sell it!" I laughed and told him it wasn't mine to sell, but I'd share his sentament with the lady responsible for the recipe. Blessing to your household. Have a safe, happy and healthy New Year.
I'm totally going to start using the table cloth thing. I hate cleaning dough and flour off the counter. Oh and I'm so glad someone asked about a cook book. I'm clicking the link !! LOVE your channel. Its my favorite.
Oh I have to try these ! OOOH they look so yummy . These would be wonderful served at a Brunch too . Anytime I am sure . Thanks for the recipe Bev. Blessings, Linda
the most I would get out of my hubby would be it's ok.... I don't believe I have ever heard him give a compliment even when he at all of it. Just I ate it. ;)
7:25 - Bev tilts jar precariously - Alana gasps, oh no here we GO!. 7:28 - Bev turns jar upside down and says 'just like a blizzard' - Alana has the rest of her heart attack. LOL!! Got me! Good one Bev!
Hi Bev, that looks delicious, you know you should write a recipe book with all your canning method and the good meal you make. I find your recipe so simple to do and everything you do look so easy. Think about it Bev, I want one and I am positive you would sell allot of them. Take care sweetie and God bless both of you. Hugs. Francine
