Ok love the video but pissed at tableau expecting me to go under format to change the name of my totals that aren’t totals.
How about a video on how to tell rename those column names. I know to set aliases for the metrics but if I want to say primary category I can’t do it…

Editing aliases can also be limiting, because the alias for the fields need to be unique. What I've done in the past is to create calculated fields with the names I want to show in the view. Not ideal, but could work for you ...

I would like to find out if there is a way to add a Summary at the Segment level that includes a breakdown summary at the Sub-Category (basically collapsing or ignoring the Category)

Same here....if there was a way to show/hide sub totals upon drilling down or up, that would be awesome. I don't like the UX from having all the Subtotals added to the data table view, it creates a lot of clutter on the left hand side where the Dimensions are. You would think creating a subtotal drill down accordion -style table would be easier in Tableau

Hi, Could you make a video on this if it is possible. How to hide only one South region subtotal sales and other states subtotals sales should remain same to display in the view?

I am looking for something similar too....if there was a way to show/hide sub totals upon drilling down or up, that would be awesome. I don't like the UX from having all the Subtotals added to the data table view, it creates a lot of clutter on the left hand side where the Dimensions are. You would think creating a subtotal drill down accordion -style table would be easier in Tableau. It appears the only way to make this happen is with multiple data unions and a lot of custom calcs >_

Thank you Raghavendra. I do have a playlist on calculations th-cam.com/video/QimVQl5AoYM/w-d-xo.html. Or are you specifically looking for calculations for the totals?

    Thanks mam ..
One request tho mam , can you build full fledged project in Tableau which we can represent in our cv to get hired..
Because every company hires experience rather than fresher , so projects is the only thing we can get hired.

Can we dynamically populate column in a worksheet based user input. Say user input 4 then I need to populate default column plus 3 prior days columns?

There is a missing feature regarding subtotals though, we cannot rename the subtotals based on their respective categories.
    Any solution/alternative for this ma'am?

Hi, I have a question because I saw an example in Power Bi, but I only use Tableau: Say your sub-category column grand total is 100M and you are showing all the sub-categories, but the business case ask to show top 3 , suppose bookcases is 10M, chairs is 5M and tables is 3M but the Boss is asking to preserve the 100M as the total. This applies a any Top N. The intent is to keep the totals for comparison. please advise, again a friend showed to me in Power BI and I am doubting Tableau can do the same.

I think we can use fixed lod for that.

Hi Hector - I think this can be done using a combo of LOD and table calc (as @introption3820 suggested). I'll try to put together an example in a video.

Can we show Grand Total and also Average

    • @sqlbelle
      @sqlbelle  ปีที่แล้ว +1

Thank you Raj. I think this can be done with separate calculated fields. I don't think we can do it with the same field/automatic totals...

sometimes we got wrong subtotal and if the field is already aggregate we don't get chance to select total using option... could you please explain this on ur video....

    • @sqlbelle

Hello Das - Are you able to give a specific example? For example - what do you mean by the aggregation is wrong? If there's a sample workbook you can share that will be helpful.
