If it fits within your budget and you're not a total purist, I think you'll be a lot happier with the 258 I6 if you convert it to fuel-injection. It's torquey enough in stock form but it only produces 112 hp and its gas mileage is pitiful. An EFI conversion will put its hp and mpg roughly on par with the 4 liter.

Stay away from fox shocks, there too stiff, replace what you've already got. I have fox on my xj, they suck.
