Dead calm allows Giyu to move so fluidly that some eyes can’t even see them. The Manga explains that his heart rate is dropped so low that he can’t actually use Dead calm all the time. So for those Anime only, that’s how he can literally close the gap between The Demon and him in an eye blink.

also, i like how most of them shut up when he said *Dead Calm.* its like he shut them up. and i just found that really funny, lol.
Its actually because the 11th form wasn't said to exist. And the move was even more amazing. No one would have guessed that the most powerful form would be "Dead calm" instead of a violent attack. It was so cool that it made Rui look like a piece of crap. Thats why people went out of words.
