Wow, this is a game-changer, there isn't enough space to write how many times I designed windows for a client who needed special windows in their home. I had Instant Architecture but the program developed a virus on my terminal due to an update so I never re-downloaded it. With this new extension Justin, now I'm able to put new windows in my designs and attract new client. Thank you for making this video.
I really hate modeling windows manually - way too much work. That said, you might want to consider Instant Architecture if you have access to it - lots more options in that program, though obviously it's paid...

Flex Tools windows are dynamic components, meaning you can adjust them after you've created them. I don't believe these are dynamic - you'd have to delete and re-create these windows. Also, I believe the FlexWindows have a lot more options. Thanks!
This is my favorite new plug in, I installed this plug in on office computer and I use it daily. I have installed it on my home computer and I can't seem to access it. Both computers are Windows 10, both Sketchups are 2018 Pro.
@@Thesketchupessentials I seem to have the same problem - On my apple computer i can't find the extension anywhere - i've looked everywhere and it doesn't seem like it has downloaded corretly, even though it says that it has been downloaded. I don't know that the problem is? Sorry for english, it's not my native language
Nice video. A pitty the walls cannot be grouped to place the window inside the opening. Beside that, the window component has multiple green axes which makes it difficult to place the window in the opening. Best is to explode the window and make a new component again. Then place the window in the opening of your grouped wall.
The French word for window is fenêtre. In French, when I see the 'china man hat/caret' above a vowel (ê), it normally represents that the letter 's' used to follow that letter. Therefore, we should in English have a word 'fenestr.....' which will have something to do with windows. I say this simply because 60%+ of all English words originate from the French language as a result of The Battle of Hastings in 1066 where French became the premier language in the UK for the next 200+ years. Well, wo-and-behold, the dictionary definition writes, "Fenestration may refer to: Fenestration (architecture), the design, construction, or presence of openings in a building" or [04:44] 'punch a hole in the wall'. I've since learned that if one fenestrates a wall, it means to create openings, i,e., windows, doorways, etc. I thought I'd share if you weren't aware of the term. p.s great vid as per norm

Try it again - SketchUp changed the entire link structure of the extension warehouse right before Christmas - as to 2016 - that just means it's marked as compatible with 2016 - you can try it on 2019 if you want

@@Thesketchupessentials I am sure I tried one or two years ago. But I could not use them as going back to Imperial is almost impossible. Now I am pretty content with what extensions I have. But tonight I added this new one. Works great for me. Thanks.

Nice extension. Good at basic window creation at early stages of modeling a project.

I just tried using it and when I clicked, "Create and Place" nothing would happen. I kept changing the settings but nothing would work.

I cannot get this to load on 2018 pro for some reason.
Like you try to load it through the extension manager, and it does...what exactly? Nothing? Is it enabled?

Great, this even works with the Decimal system as well.
It should...most extensions should work with whatever unit system you select in SketchUp - is there an extension you're using that doesn't?
