I love the option to move instead of attacking! It's a major hindrance sometimes in games like Crypt of the Necrodancer, where weapons with certain attack patterns could get you completely stuck in some situations.

Agreeed, I think the economy based metaprogression is really boring, because to me it's always the obvious best choice, which means your first hard-earned $$$ are being squirreled away for the promise of future $$$.
Just balance out the rest of the metaprogression and let each spend be on something I care about...

meta progress upgrades for meta currency can be an addition for other upgrades, like every other upgrade gives 1-5% more meta currency upgrade, can be hidden, can be showed to player

I think the hook isnt working because you have it on your back. If it was in another slot you may see it pull enemies there.

I tried and it didn't seem like it, but that could have just been related to the odd controller bug I was getting

I think they must have got their Welsh mythology from the back of a cereal box. *Annwfn* is neither hell nor heaven nor purgatory. The closest Christian concept is heaven, but there is no association with sin or virtue. It is simply a place of plenty in the afterlife, for which the concept of sin is meaningless. I sure hope the devs have never uttered the phrase "cultural appropriation" unironically.

When I think of turn based, that's waiting your turn to attack or whatever and that's boring to me.
