Way more useful than the paper directions. That stubby 13mm wrench is essential. I don't think it can be done without it.

Thanks for putting out this video. I have installed the Heed crash bars on my Tiger XRT and without your help it would have taken me a lot more time and effort.

Thanks for the video. Definitely helped with my install. Just bought a 2018 XRT and noticed a few tool updates from when the video was created. Maybe Heed updated their product. I needed 13mm and 17mm socket, 6mm and 8mm allen, T50 torx and a 17mm spanner. Got a bit simpler!

Great video thanks. Looking at getting the full (rather than just the upper) bars for a new XRT. Numpty question - what is supporting the engine when you take out the engine bolts to fit the bars. Hate to have my brand new engine fall out the bike!!

    • @davehewlett1971
      @davehewlett1971  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

hi thank for watching, the answer is the lower and rear engine mounts. if you are worried, you can remove the sump guard get it on the center stand and use a bottle jack or blocks to support the engine, but usually no problems! happy days on the spanners!

Any advice on getting the front mount on? Struggling like hell to get the nuts into the U bolt, there’s so little room to work with

@@peterdyson1553 use a short body ratchet or stubby spanner. Should work. Thanks for watching

Great riding in norway, only thing that brings it down are the prices on everything.
That green on yours are my favourite.

What torque do you need to use for the torx bolts?

    • @davehewlett1971

Hi. Did you have any problem using the Torx drive T50 to remove main engine bolts?
I'm trying to remove mine to fit the bars but they won't budge🤔
Tried wd40 on them over night with no joy. Wouldn't have expected them to seize on a 2019 model that's well looked after.
I frightened I might strip the thread 🙁
    Cheers

No mine came out well, but these triumphs are renowned for tight non lubed bolts. Try an impact driver? Good luck, thanks for looking

@@davehewlett1971 been onto heed they say not tested on 2012 plates .
Another lead is that the 2015 model has a wider radiator so if I fit them to my bike the gap between the bars and tank will be great do you know if this is correct with the once your freind fitted .
Rather try to keep stock bars on the bottom as not to look like a big cage on the bike. Thanks paul

thx for the video. I tried to mount the right side, but stucking to mount the lower engine bolt (the bolt where you have to remove from the factory lower crash bar). The spot is poorly accessible... Could you explain how you did it?
