How to paint a seascape step by step abstract acrylic painting tutorial

In this video I painted a seascape. I started by painting the water in a dark blue but changed it later to a lighter blue and later added dark again for more contrast. This is painted with acrylic painting which is very forgiving. When the paint is dry you can paint over it with another color. By painting in layers en let the layers dry in between you can change easily what you don't like. The colors I used are listed on the screen. I used acrylic paint from the brand Amsterdam Expert. The paper I've used is Schut Acrylic paper 360 gr.

Hi, no it is not difficult. It is actually the same process. On a big canvas I use large paintbrushes and a large palette knife. It takes only a bit more time and a lot more paint:)

Awesome! Question: If you paint on paper, do you have to put the painting under glass?

Hi, thank you! If you paint with acrylics on paper or any other surface, it's not necessary to hang it behind glass. However, I recommend varnishing it with a varnish for protection. I prefer spray varnish because it’s easy and quick to use. You can choose from matte, semi-gloss, or gloss finishes, depending on your preference. Varnish helps protect your painting from dust and discoloration caused by sunlight. Thanks for watching the video!
