They could still reference that in a flashback because perhaps there is content in the flashback that is better suited for whatever plot point lays ahead
I think we’ll definitely get it in a flashback. We still haven’t got any insight on what happened when he seen the grim reaper so I reckon they’re probably linked somehow.
There was an interesting point about Zoros heritage mentioned by Tekking that could have been the way to tie it into the main story of Wano. Zoro would likely be the heir to Ringo so you could have had a conversation with someone (Hyogoro maybe) revealing this and asking Zoro if he would take up his rightful place as Daimyo only for him to refuse in favour of travelling with Luffy
in the future strawhats that oda has drawn in sbs it seems like they go separate way even in the good timeline. So it's not impossible for him to just settle down on wano, instead of becoming daimyo, maybe he would run a dojo to train next strongest swordman to fight him. With wano opened, swordsman all over the world might go to wano to challange him and his disciples(or become disciples themselves).
Outside of a joke, why would you do something so useless. Zoro will literally not even listen and walk away, literally no one cares in this story. It wouldn't be something Zoro would even remember as it happened much less matter in any way.
Yeah he could've but we all know how that would turn out. Flat out, "nah I'll pass" Zoro is ultimately a free man and even if he decided to open up a dojo of his own or something later down the line, I don't think he wants to become daimiyo ever
Tashigi could be a descendant of another Wano traveller, explaining her resemblance to Kuina, as well as Ipponmatsu, which would make it likely that Yubashiri, his most valuable sword, also came from Wano.
from the start, i have been convinced that tashigi is kuina, i mean, zoro reacted like he saw a ghost when he first met tashigi. could be a distant family relation, but seems a little too simple for kuina to have lost her dream to a set of stairs. unless she took a header down them on purpose. which is a bit too dark for op imo...
@@vanessacherche6393 nah kuina is dead and gone. They even had a whole funeral. Once a character death is shown like that it’s over. And I think Kuina being alive cheapens Zoro’s motivation to be the strongest swordsman, because Kuina wanted to be the strongest sword woman and Zoro is in a way carrying on her will. At most, Tashigi just looks eerily similar to Kuina or she’s a really distant relative that’s it. Also One Piece is perfectly capable of delving into dark topics, such as slavery and genocide. So Kuina falling to her death down the stairs isn’t too dark for One Piece.
@@voidnoidoid i hear you, but... what if zoro reaches the highest plane of a swordsman's existence, end game op. annnnd tashigi shows up to arrest zoro. oh by the way that funeral was fake so i could join the marines and reach my dream. that would be an interesting setup, so many accomplishments cast away, comes down to a 1v1? stairs could not defeat kuina, idk if zoro truly can either
On one of the panels where Kid is gathering scrap metal for his fight against, I believe it was Big Mom, the Pokemon Meltan is seen as part of the metal objects. Oda later confirms that he included it because he really liked the creature, so Oda might be a Pokemon Fan as well :D
Oda is a confirmed Pokémon fan yes. He has said he lost many hours playing Pokémon Go and the game itself had an official One Piece collaboration where you could catch a Pikachu with a Straw hat.
About the latter members of the Straw Hat's knowledge of the earlier events in the crew's existence, I think it's worth to point out that Nami did keep a logbook of the crew's adventures at least until Arabasta. Since no events in that arc seemingly would prompt her to stop writing the logbook (and they probably emptied the Merry of their belongings, including the logbook, by the time it was taken by Franky during the Aqua Laguna at Water 7, so it's difficult to imagine it burned with the ship during it's funeral), it's reasonable to assume Nami kept writing the logbook up until now and thus it's also reasonable to assume members like Franky, Brook and Jimbei could have had time to go through it to catch up with the crew's past.
@Akai exactly it only needed pointed out once to know about it and to figure that the rest of the crew take part in reading it at some point or another. It's not something that needs to be added to the story just implied that it's there
I personally like the fact that Oda didn't put an uno reverse card on the effects of the smile fruits. Firstly because I like the idea of Momo turning Wano in a country full of joy, where people don't care about eating the smile fruits, because they don't want to cry anyway. Secondly because I feel like getting just rid of the effects of the smile fruits negates some of the impact, Kaido and Orochi had on Wano, which makes the story more impactful (Like in avatar, when the fire nation is defeated it's not like everything is how it was, the airbenders are still gone and it will take time to heal this wound). Thirdly, because even though smile fruits are not something I'd want to be exposed to, it's not like the effect is that detrimental, even if you've eaten a smile fruit it's not like you're unable to feel sadness, you just can't express it in a regular way, but unlike mutilation or brainwashing there's no real physical or mental detriment involved (unless you're an actor or something).
I also like it because Devil Fruits are stuck to you until death. To remove the powers of one from someone, even if a fake one like the Smiles, lowers the rest of the fruit and the absolute madness that is Blackbeard stealing fruit powers. It's an established fact that Devil Fruits can only be reborn after ones' death, and I don't know why a scientist would specifically remove that aspect of a fruit meant to power someone up. Of course you'd want it to last forever. They didn't give a damn about Smiles causing side effects like forever-laughter, so why would they care to eliminate part of the construction of Devil Fruits that causes them to be bound to you for life? Or that the ocean weakens you? It's honestly more likely that they couldn't so just didn't bother so they could pump out a huge amount at a lower cost. I wonder if any Smile fruits would be reborn on the death of their holders, though? How 'true' to Devil Fruit lore are they?
yeah people complain about Oda reversing permanent decisions (mainly death baiting) but then complain when Oda doesnt reverse a permanent decision. It’d be kinda pointless if chopper just cured it
Well you still lose your ability to swim because with smile you get all the weaknesses of the devil fruits and a slim chance to get the power depending on the situation you are in that could be very detrimental even to normal civilians
I would imagine some mental detriment comes from being unable to properly express your real feelings. I'm doubtful that's a stress-free experience. Makes me think of Nilah. One of the newest League of Legends champions. She is forced to be joyful all of the time due to the unknown nature of her contract with one of Runeterra's primordial demons. She has a few voice lines expressing how taxing that can be. Of course, what she's experiencing is a bit different, but it's pretty similar. Also, I think it's debatable whether or not curing the smile fruit thing would actually diminish the impact. Because it would just be a more prompt partial healing of the wounds, sort of akin to Aang and Zuko pretty immediately ending just about all violent hostilities across the world after Ozai was defeated. That left the scars you speak of from the extinction of the air nomads and the general trauma left by the long war. Curing the direct effects of the smile fruits would still leave the trauma from said effects and from the long tyrannical period in their history. Not necessarily negating the effects, but just lessening potential further suffering.
Remember the whole deal with Tashigi being VERY similar to Kuina back then which sparked many over the top theories. I just thought of something which would make a lot of sense. The recent sbs stated that 25 Shimotsuki members sailed from Wano. After they saved a village from mountain bandits in the east blue, only 10 members decided to settle thus founding the Shimotsuki Village. After reading it again, I thought to myself, "What happened to the other 15?". That's when I thought about the possibility that Tashigi might be descended from one of the 15 Wano immigrants who didn't settle in Shimotsuki Village. This theory would make a lot of sense and would explain her uncanny resemblance with Kuina. She's basically a long distance relative. It'd also add to how she's very knowledgeable on almost every famous sword.
Shame that we don't get more about Zoro's parents at least, but it is understandable. I imagine that if did get a Law style flashback then it would have probably been Zoro witnessing his father's death, in which he loses both of his arms and so grabs a sword in his mouth to mortally wound the last pirate; and before he was killed he would say "wounds on the back are a swordman's greatest shame"
10:48 There was an episode in the Anime just before Camie's appearance where Brook found the log book about the Straw Hat Pirate's adventures and read it. I'm not sure if it's canon or not but that was my answer for how the newer Straw Hats got to know about their stories.
For the part where "if the older members does know every adventures during East Blue" Yeah, I believe they do know, since Nami, always keeps writing on their journal, ever since. She may not be shown to be doing it right now, but it was stated before, and even other pirate crews keep their own journals of adventures, like Oden. And I think if I remember it correctly, that it was stated also post Thriller Bark that Brook was reading their adventures through the Journal.
knowing how Ushimaru looks, it's clear to see Zoro got his looks from his father's side of the family and his hair probably from his mother or grandfather.
To be fair to Zoro's family tree, Kid also got the SBS treatment for his backstory, which is odd considering it seems like he may still be active in the story but then again, Oda does want to finish the manga one day. If it's not relevant then it probably is best explored in SBS's.
the pacing of Wano is a good example of why people say "One Piece is both Too Long and Too Short" Kaido didn't need a whole lot of backstory prior to running into the Rocks pirates, and going into depth with the Rocks Pirates at that moment would've been too 'spoilery' (people were likely hoping for more Rocks stuff through Kaido, but didn't get it and are complaining about it indirectly).
I am really happy that the smiles didn't get fixed. A lot of times in fiction when a character becomes disabled he gets "fixed" almost the episode later. There is always a robot or demon arm, or they learn to see with magic or the force or mutant abilities or so on. I am really happy one piece lets disabled people exist for the most part, good examples being kidd and shanks, who lost their arms and are not getting it back.
Devil fruits probably transform people genetically, so curing that would be incredibly difficult. I think its also pretty good that some consequences remain. If everything just always turned out happy go lucky then there wouldn't be any weight to the story. Good on Oda to not be a coward with his storytelling. And thank god that the story isn't written by people who grew up with disney happy endings.
So with all those confirmed to not have stopped a Fusha Village the theory of Tashigi having roots from Wano only grows stronger. Even if it’s somewhat unimportant rn
The fact that Oda revealed Zoro's family tree in an SBS might imply that it's not gonna play too heavy a roll going forward. But him not outright saying that Zoro is Ryuma's descendant and teasing that fact might imply that at least something might come out of it. It's hard to tell
@@KyubiCloaks Not really. He says to put two and two together and then stops talking about it. I mean it's incredibly obvious what he's trying to get at but he's being real cheeky about it
@@Dardax4gaming Where are y'all reading this sbs from. He says Ushimaru is a descendant of Ryuma and that his sister was Zoro's grandmother. He then talks about connecting the dots, but never directly says Zoro is Ryuma's descendant even though we all know he is because of what he said in the SBS
I am so glad that someone finally put into words how I was feeling about Oda not putting this info in Wano!! It’s not important to Zoro’s story so having it in an SBS made the most sense!
The whole nut shell of one-piece is a crew of orphans traveling and fulfilling their own dreams as friends. They do this together trying to fulfill their captain dream of becoming king of the pirates. In the end all of their dreams combine makes it just one big piece.
I get what you're saying Liam but I think it stems from people wanting more development from zoro. He feels like the strawhat who aside from abilities has received the least amount of development throughout the series and it sucks. Especially considering this just feels like Oda's way of saying we don't have time to develop him like we did for other characters.
The problem with Zoro's lineage is that Oda kept hinting at it. Why did he have to tease it and wink like there's something important there, making us expect a flashback if he didn't intend to follow up on it? If you set up something, you should commit to it. If you don't want to commit to something, then simply don't set it up! It's not the community building expectations out of nowhere and bekng disappointed when they go unfulfilled, it's that we were made to expect something that was never going to happen.
Even somthing small like Zoro finding a grave of his say great grandfather that looked like him just ANYTHING in the series rather then this honestly decently big reveal was relegated to side content
I still think Oda is probably going to address them in the story this time, I don't believe it till I'll see. It is really not about "Zoro doesn't care about his family" that is not the point. Yes maybe Oda did this and that makes sense which I disagree with, it still would've been nice to reveal a few in the story at least. Just one panel or a few, whether it is important or not. I'd like to see Kidd's backstory reveals in the story even though he's a side character.
@@ttbew Kidd definitely deserves a flashback. Skipping it would be so disrespectful especially when Law got a 11/10 multi chapter flashback out of nowhere. If Law had that Kidd needs one too. Even if it's a little briefer.
@@comradecatbug5289 I don't remember but I heard Oda revealed one of Law's backstories in SBS and made it in the story, that could be a chance that Kid may still get one in the story, and the same with Zoro. I agree even if it's a little briefer like you said.
I understand the whole "found family is more important than biological family" idea, but I just don't think it's that well executed in One Piece. Ace was important because he's the biological son of Gold Roger. Luffy has a whole family tree of the most badass characters in the series. Oda revealing that Zoro is related to Ryuma also doesn't help because now Zoro seems 'destined' for greatness as a swordsman because he's a descendant of the 'Sword God' himself. Sanji literally got a powerup because of his father (I know it's because of technological enhancements, but the point still stands). A lot of the characters we spend the most time with are biological descendants of important people.
The question about the rest of the crew knowing about earlier events does seem important when you realize that Brook, Franky and Robin all had reactions to the news about Ace's death without having ever met him or even possibly knowing that he was Luffy's brother. Unless they were told at some point or it was published in the newspaper that Luffy and Ace were brothers and that Ace died in Luffy's arms, those members of the crew would probably have no idea what that would mean to Luffy.
So that chopper question was basically asking chopper to nullify a devil fruit which is already impossible unless you’re blackbeard but would also place him on a genius greater than vegapunk.
Man I kept telling people to stop freaking out about the zoro thing because Oda himself said there would be focus on his lineage because zoro doesn't care. People just love coming up with their own head Canon and get mad when it doesn't happen
ya I remember getting to Ebisu and thinking "hell ya, these people are great! love people who consciously decide to laugh and have joy even in miserable situations" and then finding out the horrible truth of it all :'(
To be fair, Oda messed up the entire importance of found family the second he introduced Luffy's father and grandfather. From that moment on it is actually clear as day that blood relation is important. The Kozuki plot line hammered that down even more, not to mention all the D stuff and conquerors haki. All blood related matters that are far more important than any found family plot we've had so far.
For me it’s not so much about the relevance of Zoros heritage being dropped in want or not. I just wanted something! It was the samurai arc and we barely got to know zero better and then after the arc we suddenly get info about him in a sbs… I just wanted to explore Siri more in wano not in a sbs
Oda was a little coy about Zoro's relationship with Ryuma in the SBS section and how they have a shared fate, which I think says a lot about what he considers important regarding Zoro's lineage. His history with Ryuma is important but that story isn't done yet, and the big reveal for him in Wano was that every one of his swords in some way carries the weight of his Wano and Shimotsuki Village heritage. It was about his cultural identity, and who his mother and father are are completely irrelevant. Tashigi is in all likelihood on her way towards Egghead right now so I wouldn't be surprised at all if he has a chance to talk about swords with her when they meet up and cover some of these loose ends.
Solid point that some would have complained about Wano being even more bloated if this was in a flashback. I agree. There's obviously no perfect answer. But for me, I'm fine w it. And I like the theme of Zoro doesn't care, so the reader shouldn't. That feels like a cool little meta touch
the interactions from the strawhats is something the i feel op is lacking a lot, specially after the timeskip. nowadays it seems that since the main crew is a stablished cast of characters they don't need to talk like actual human beings. they only talk about the MISSION in which they are in at the moment. that makes reading op weekly so much about everything else then the main crew. it seems that we can only expect the next powerup instead of a cool interaction. like wtf they spend two years away from each other and didn't even ask a single question about that for one another??? not even a compliment about new hair or anything?? but okay since we couldn't wait a few chapters before going in the megasuper arc of fishmen island and bonus hot take: this "lineage makes you poweful" in anime should've ended a long time ago and fans should stop expecting that. dude if your father is jacked that doens't mean you're gonna come to this world jacked too.
But Lineage has played a HUGE factor in OP, from conquerers haki to the family of D, even the secrets of the Devil fruits is known as a Lineage factor... it's all about Lineage. Also the crew interacts with each other, just off screen (Which I agree that it would be nice to see them interact more on screen) but they do interact in their spare time . Just read the SBS's they answer a ton of questions.
in chapter 1077,after sanji's initial kick saving nami, his eyebrows are switched again, not to mention he has a much more malignant expression than the last time
to be honest, i was one of those guys that was bumped about zoros heritage not being in the manga.. but you know what? you changed my mind, wierd man on the internet! Thank you and have a good one
Sanji's eyebrows just flipped once more in 1077, after he strikes Jinbe Jr. Seems he's able to flip the power on and off, thus avoiding his fears about losing all of his emotions for now.
4:50 Preach! Also chances are Zoro doesn't even know all this. He was Orphaned as a child and people in Wano would need to go full Sherlock to postulate these possibilities.
I love the Zoro family stuff - it’s nice to know it was thought out in that much detail. My only problem with it is that - whole yes Zoro doesn’t care - Oda has explicitly flagged the connection many times and made it seem like it’ll be relevant. If he hadn’t I wouldn’t care about Zoro’s family, but this is like if we got all the Sanji “Mr Prince” stuff, but all the Germa stuff was just put in this SBS Still like it and it’s not series breaking, just odd
Exactly. The whole Zoro doesn't care thing is just a bad excuse. We really don't know much about Luffy's character too and he's the main character besides Nami and Zoro. Especially the first important MC. I honestly don't see where Oda stated he revealed Zoro's family in SBS because Zoro doesn't care, we never got to know the real reason he did this besides he said it wouldn't add to the main story which is okay. I'm thinking Oda is setting this up in the story, hopefully.
i just can't believe what i just learn about Tama! The fact that she is now the only living Kurozumi left in existence. Just imagine what would happen if Momo and Hiyori found out about this. My guess is that when word got out of her being a Kurozumi, The Citizen of Wano wanted to burn her and end the bloodline but Momo (Being Shogun) decide to pardon her (and only her) for her great-grandfather/uncle deeds of what he tried to do when he tried to be Shogun.
Great video. When watching the part about how Luffy's Elite Commanders can referenced to the land, sky, and sea, it gave me the idea where they could be Luffy's equivalent to starter Pokémon. For example, Zoro is a Grass/Steel Type, Sanii is a Fire/Flying Type, and Jinbe is a Water/Fighting Type!
You know we got A good reasonable backstory for Sanji. And Zoro we didn't really get a lot for a long time. Episodes 100+ for Wano Country. 😢 we still haven't really got much. Yet. 100 Episodes after. 😅
Honestly I think it would have been hilarious if zoro found out about his family liniage and cassualy explainied it to the straw hats in like 2 pages, forgetting most of it with Robin and Usop asking a bunch or questions and zoror just not caring.
What annoys me is that ODA could've put Zorro stuff into Wano instead of a lot of rubbish that ODA did put in there. Sure Wano was long. But it had a lot of useless stuff that was either pointless or could've been condensed alot this opening room for stuff that feels better and connecting. After all, it was long before Wano where the fan base was saying things like.. Wano is Zorro arc, his backstory arc etc.
With KH3 departing from Disney a bit and sora being a marine. We can say Germa 66 is an ideal candidate for researching darkness in the hearts. They have easily a fleet of heartless fodder and the right motivations. It's the tale of Sora coming to one piece in KH4 confirmed.
10:48 you are wrong here : "characters like brook doesn't know about the pre time skip adventures" Actually after joining the strawhats brook read the book 📚 hand written by one of the strawhats (maybe nami or Robin I don't recall ) the book contained all the adventures up until they met brook. He is surprised after learning about sky Islands and enel. Then brook was disappointed that he was of no use on the ship but luffy settled it quickly saying brook sing a song
There was a mention in the anime (not sure about the manga) where Hyogoro says he resembles the Daimyo of Ringo (blue haired guy, Ushimaru I think). That was enough for me just to confirm he was from Wano heritage. Also, found it cool that he or Kuina would be related in some way to Shimotsuki Yasuie in that case, which in retrospect kind of makes his death even more depressing than it already was.
Just saw a theory on tiktok and wanted your input. Blackbeard kidnapped coby to lure garp in to capture (not kill). Kidnapped pudding to steals garps memory of xebec and god valley then using gecko Moria who he fought awhile ago and may have still captured he will implant garps shadow into xebecs corps
I'm still sad we didn't get more flashbacks of Zoro's past in the story since I've been wanting to know more since Baratie. I like your spin on it, it makes it a little more bearable...well I'm trying to tell myself that. Heh heh. I was hoping for a bit more flashback on Zoro since we've had a flashback and/or explanation on all the Strawhats to this point. I know we didn't have a childhood flashbacks for Brook or Jimbe but we did get a good bit of back story on each of them (multiple episodes of just back story). All the strawhats have had multiple episodes of their past, leaving Zoro with very brief flashback bits. The release of the SBS crushed my hopes that possibly in the future we would still get something more of Zoro's past in the story, despite it not in Wano. So, overall I am sad. I still like your take! Keep the great vids coming!
That's kind of an issue I take with late One Piece. While it use to stress the UNimportance of family and destiny and highlighted ghe importance of will and friendship, nowdays Zoro is the descendent of Ryuma (giving him the right to Enma and Shusui, not his strength), Luffy is blessed with a god of smile fruit rather than influncing his fellowship with just his nature and Sanjis literal DNA saves him against Queen rather than his wit or literally anything else.... Just saddens me when I used to get inspired by Zorro because he just trained harder than anyone else...
i think the 4 last crew members knows about the adventures before they joined, as if i remember correctly, after brook joined the crew, there was an episode about him finding his place aboard, spending time with zoro, nami etc, he struggled a bit and i think he read nami's book where she writes everything that happens to the crew, and i think he actually asked her "did you really went to an island in the sky ?" i'm not sure about it so i'll go check, but it's not impossible. edit: got it ! "Brook's Hard Struggle - The Difficult Path of Becoming a True Comrade?" episode 384.
Poke'emon = Pokémon + Doraemon (another huge Japanese series about time traveling cat creature). And about Zoro's ties to Wano - Oda cut a lot of planned small interaction scenes with different characters from Wano most likely since he realized that it got bloated already and he needs to speed the series along to it's conclusion (due to neither him nor anime voice cast getting any younger). Increased pace is really noticeable starting from Wano's last act.

There was a missed opportunity for a little running gag in Wano. Could've had all these random people trying to tell Zoro about his lineage or people who were probably related to him and then Zoro is just keeps missing what they say. He either gets lost while they're talking to him, gets drunk and sleepy, or the conversation is interrupted by off-screen fighting that Zoro wants to join.
Nami has journals of their adventures, that's how franky joined. wouldnt be surprised if they haven't read the logs/journals by nami. so they don't really need to ask. unless they dont know how to read. that could be very possible since not everyone was "cared for" as a child
My hope for Sanji is that his 'transformation' is involuntary and the more his pushes himself the more he becomes like this family.. heartless and violent.. and it becomes a point to try to keep the power but also his humanity at the same time

I agree. Even if it was in Wano, it would have been complaining. Zorro doesn't care about his family so there is no real need for his family. Found family is great. It is very important and as you say, it is a main part of the story.
the thing I really am interested in the most was who graps father was. minus that I don't really care about family lines. also to the zoro family line it does make sense kunina was fixed upon as well in his past along with her father. i only really saw kuninas dad once i think after the big mom arc when all of those posters are shown to their loved ones.

Can't praise the artist behind the character drawings enough. It's insane how fast and they're being created and how good they are.
Tashigi and Kuina are cousins as far as I know
I could believe that. It would probably track if her family was from Wano too.
There is a whole episode where Brook feels out of place with the crew after reading the log book
@@marco.porque That's filler
@@cortlandprince6668 I forgot they did lose the ability to swim, though it isn't that much of a problem since the people of Wano don't go to sea.
This is my head cannon now
Also it is understandable why Sanji doesn't have such a huge dream. He is created to venture more about his past not his future
Lol
We don’t need more information at the moment.
@@meow3343 ehhhh Sanji does have a big dream... The All Blue remember?
10:48 There was an episode in the Anime just before Camie's appearance where Brook found the log book about the Straw Hat Pirate's adventures and read it. I'm not sure if it's canon or not but that was my answer for how the newer Straw Hats got to know about their stories.
It wasnt canon
For the part where "if the older members does know every adventures during East Blue"
Yeah, I believe they do know, since Nami, always keeps writing on their journal, ever since. She may not be shown to be doing it right now, but it was stated before, and even other pirate crews keep their own journals of adventures, like Oden. And I think if I remember it correctly, that it was stated also post Thriller Bark that Brook was reading their adventures through the Journal.
Dang, Zoro as Baby Beel is so on point with his "King of Hell" schtick
knowing how Ushimaru looks, it's clear to see Zoro got his looks from his father's side of the family and his hair probably from his mother or grandfather.
To be fair to Zoro's family tree, Kid also got the SBS treatment for his backstory, which is odd considering it seems like he may still be active in the story but then again, Oda does want to finish the manga one day. If it's not relevant then it probably is best explored in SBS's.
There's probably more to Kidd than that SBS
the pacing of Wano is a good example of why people say "One Piece is both Too Long and Too Short"
Kaido didn't need a whole lot of backstory prior to running into the Rocks pirates, and going into depth with the Rocks Pirates at that moment would've been too 'spoilery' (people were likely hoping for more Rocks stuff through Kaido, but didn't get it and are complaining about it indirectly).
No one would complain about Zoro Flashbacks that add to his character and his family.
He didnt tease it he literally says it lol
@@KyubiCloaks Not really. He says to put two and two together and then stops talking about it. I mean it's incredibly obvious what he's trying to get at but he's being real cheeky about it
@@KingJokR No he literally did say it. He said in the SBS that zoro is related to ryuma
Zoro's backstory got lost into the SBS instead of the main story.
by my knowledge brook found Nami's journals when he joined the crew which indicate that the rest probably had the chance to read it too.
Baby Zoro looks like baby Beelzebub !! Haha, I love it!
Niji as Numbah 2 is the clear winner of this video
It’s funny how people want to tell a veteran writer and creator how to tell his story😂
In a filler, after Thriller Bark, Brook found Nami's Log Book and read about their adventures in East Blue
Back then when zoro was still eating dirt rice to the worlds greats chefs food
Thank you for being the first youtuber i've seen cover all the sbs and not only the zoro part

Man, your script and EDITING are TOP NOTCH!!! You're one of the best OPtubers ever! Much respect from Brazil, bro!
A cure for the smile fruits could also become a “cure” for all devil fruits.
It seems Oda isn't interested in the importance of genes , rather stresses the value of inheritance of meme's ( memes~dreams/will )
Man I kept telling people to stop freaking out about the zoro thing because Oda himself said there would be focus on his lineage because zoro doesn't care. People just love coming up with their own head Canon and get mad when it doesn't happen
ya I remember getting to Ebisu and thinking "hell ya, these people are great! love people who consciously decide to laugh and have joy even in miserable situations" and then finding out the horrible truth of it all :'(
I think I would have preferred Zoro's background be kept a secret since it would have fit with the whole unknown/wandering samurai trope.
I find it hard to decide between wanting a fully fleshed out one piece or wanting to know the end sooner
Poke'emon sounds more like a combination between Pokemon and Doraemon, which is hilariously fitting because both are children's stories about pockets.
Very glad the family were somewhat nobodies. I am so tired about the "if you think this character is cool wait to see who are their parents!" trope.
Zoro must be baby Beelzebub. Lol
Solid point that some would have complained about Wano being even more bloated if this was in a flashback. I agree. There's obviously no perfect answer. But for me, I'm fine w it. And I like the theme of Zoro doesn't care, so the reader shouldn't. That feels like a cool little meta touch
the interactions from the strawhats is something the i feel op is lacking a lot, specially after the timeskip. nowadays it seems that since the main crew is a stablished cast of characters they don't need to talk like actual human beings. they only talk about the MISSION in which they are in at the moment. that makes reading op weekly so much about everything else then the main crew. it seems that we can only expect the next powerup instead of a cool interaction. like wtf they spend two years away from each other and didn't even ask a single question about that for one another??? not even a compliment about new hair or anything?? but okay since we couldn't wait a few chapters before going in the megasuper arc of fishmen island
and bonus hot take: this "lineage makes you poweful" in anime should've ended a long time ago and fans should stop expecting that. dude if your father is jacked that doens't mean you're gonna come to this world jacked too.
Just read the SBS's they answer a ton of questions.
it took me exactly 11 minutes and 30 seconds to eat my pizza. thank you for making perfectly timed videos.
in chapter 1077,after sanji's initial kick saving nami, his eyebrows are switched again, not to mention he has a much more malignant expression than the last time
It is my head canon that zoro’s dad isn’t dead but just got lost.
to be honest, i was one of those guys that was bumped about zoros heritage not being in the manga.. but you know what? you changed my mind, wierd man on the internet!
Thank you and have a good one
Sanji's eyebrows just flipped once more in 1077, after he strikes Jinbe Jr.
Seems he's able to flip the power on and off, thus avoiding his fears about losing all of his emotions for now.
You actually did it. You were trolling after all. Completely got me.
In my bigger fatter one piece theory I postulated that The One Piece is the revelation that you are inside a manga and dying also reveals this.
4:50 Preach! Also chances are Zoro doesn't even know all this. He was Orphaned as a child and people in Wano would need to go full Sherlock to postulate these possibilities.
I can’t believe that chopper would cure 1000 smile fruit users just to make a video about it and monetize it smh
Chopper shouldn’t cure the smile fruits because if he did it’s not much of a stretch to say they could come up with a cure for regular devil fruits
I love the Zoro family stuff - it’s nice to know it was thought out in that much detail. My only problem with it is that - whole yes Zoro doesn’t care - Oda has explicitly flagged the connection many times and made it seem like it’ll be relevant.
If he hadn’t I wouldn’t care about Zoro’s family, but this is like if we got all the Sanji “Mr Prince” stuff, but all the Germa stuff was just put in this SBS
Still like it and it’s not series breaking, just odd
It’s different mostly because Oda had already stated that this wouldn’t be very relevant to the story way earlier
"Until I sour it" You won my heart
Oda already said that chopper wouldn't cure the smile fruit effect.
sometimes the main character's parents are just a normal couple and that's ok
i just can't believe what i just learn about Tama!
I love the reference to Mr. Beast lmaoo “curing 1000 people of the smile fruit” it’s like how he helped 1000 people struggling with lens coverage
I guess every character is gonna have a secret bombshell revealing why they’re a secret defendant of a god or chosen one of some kind and I hate it
I need a spin off series “the lineage of Zoro” where we see the events leading up to the one and only greatest swordsman of all time
What annoys me is that ODA could've put Zorro stuff into Wano instead of a lot of rubbish that ODA did put in there.
Sure Wano was long. But it had a lot of useless stuff that was either pointless or could've been condensed alot this opening room for stuff that feels better and connecting.
After all, it was long before Wano where the fan base was saying things like.. Wano is Zorro arc, his backstory arc etc.
So Baby Beel became Zoro. Seems legit
With KH3 departing from Disney a bit and sora being a marine. We can say Germa 66 is an ideal candidate for researching darkness in the hearts. They have easily a fleet of heartless fodder and the right motivations. It's the tale of Sora coming to one piece in KH4 confirmed.
10:48 you are wrong here : "characters like brook doesn't know about the pre time skip adventures"
Actually after joining the strawhats brook read the book 📚 hand written by one of the strawhats (maybe nami or Robin I don't recall ) the book contained all the adventures up until they met brook.
Thanks you for the frames of the ancestors banging. It was a key part in the operation and it couldn't have happened without it

Kidnapped pudding to steals garps memory of xebec and god valley then using gecko Moria who he fought awhile ago and may have still captured he will implant garps shadow into xebecs corps
I just want a random meeting of kureha and vegapunk in their youth to be confirmed. But i guess its entirely possible that they never once met
Just saddens me when I used to get inspired by Zorro because he just trained harder than anyone else...
i think the 4 last crew members knows about the adventures before they joined, as if i remember correctly, after brook joined the crew, there was an episode about him finding his place aboard, spending time with zoro, nami etc, he struggled a bit and i think he read nami's book where she writes everything that happens to the crew, and i think he actually asked her "did you really went to an island in the sky ?"
i'm not sure about it so i'll go check, but it's not impossible.
edit: got it ! "Brook's Hard Struggle - The Difficult Path of Becoming a True Comrade?" episode 384.
Couldn't "Monkey Ball" also be a reference to the hit Sega video game franchise of the same name?
Poke'emon = Pokémon + Doraemon (another huge Japanese series about time traveling cat creature).
And about Zoro's ties to Wano - Oda cut a lot of planned small interaction scenes with different characters from Wano most likely since he realized that it got bloated already and he needs to speed the series along to it's conclusion (due to neither him nor anime voice cast getting any younger). Increased pace is really noticeable starting from Wano's last act.
It's been some time i was waiting for this

There was a missed opportunity for a little running gag in Wano. Could've had all these random people trying to tell Zoro about his lineage or people who were probably related to him and then Zoro is just keeps missing what they say. He either gets lost while they're talking to him, gets drunk and sleepy, or the conversation is interrupted by off-screen fighting that Zoro wants to join.

My hope for Sanji is that his 'transformation' is involuntary and the more his pushes himself the more he becomes like this family.. heartless and violent.. and it becomes a point to try to keep the power but also his humanity at the same time
I think his eybrows were reversed again when he kicked the Jimbei Seraphim.
And there he enjoyed it.
Smile fruits in a way are just devil fruits with power of laugh. Therefore, if the people who ate them just wore seastone wristbands or something like that they should be cured, right?
