"Finding my tendencies? He realized I was a Bitch"
Insane statements from PhiDX
That's a sub clicker
It's not like I expect a JWong Factor every match- but damnit does he always just lock in when it's needed.
Clip it!
16:43 you're wc
That tournament generated so much interest in fighting games. I’ve seen folks irl who mostly have just been COD or Fortnite guys talk about getting into Tekken and it’s so great!
Fighting game rebirth
@@Guitar-Dog it really does feel like we’re entering into a New Golden Age
All thanks to T8
@@zacretzer i think strive being crossplay and MK1 being bad helped..
MK1 being bad, I've noticed a lot of people in comments saying they have started Tekken or SF6 because MK is bad
@@zacretzer started feeling like that when SF6 game and tekken 8 trailer dropped ngl
"Reading my tendencies he realized I was a bitch" I freakin lost it 😂😂😂
Kazuya: Dorya!
Phi: DAHHHHH!!!
Jin brainrot?
we need this DAAAAHHHHH modded on noctis lol
Chesto!
Justin the goat of FGs
Man is solid with anything he touches
I don't think any other person has this bug wired into their brain like JWong
Sonic Fox is similar but a level or two down.
difference is sonic fox plays knowledge-check characters in all games and overall relies on gimmicks (naturally he of course has really good sound FG fundamentals to make his strategies work), while Justin just plays pure fundamental footsies based gameplay in almost every FG he plays which is insanely hard to pull off @@thomasalley3121
Justin just tier whores and sonicfox is what is wrong with our generation
@@thomasalley3121 I'll give to you SF is good
But the closest to Justin in this regards is RyanHart

Man, so fun to see Tekken blow up again
“Finding my tendencies, he realized i was a *bitch* ” LOL story of my life in fighting games
I remember Maximilian Dood talked about what it feels like playing against Justin. I'm paraphrasing but it went something along the lines of "Okay I'm one game down. I'm winning... So why do I feel like I'm losing?" 😂
Now imagine how it feels in a game where he knows how to block everything lol.
I had to go back and watch Lilly’s stream so I could hear the team rooting for Phi and it was so cool to hear. Them all popping off with “THATS OUR COACH!” was so cool and given how much this channel has helped me on my journey, it felt like it was *my* coach too. Excellent work and thanks as always PhiDx❤️
The little cartoons and the pop off is hilarious. It hits home when you know you pop off the same way when your home alone winning against high ranks.
Honestly you've helped me get so much better in just months of playing this game and honestly I'm getting the confidence to go into tournaments im in purple ranks with lil experience and knowledge of the game so I wanna see how I can test myself with high level gameplay
Phi is just so down to the ground. I like how you feel the support and enjoy the atmosphere. What a great watch that video was.
Also: 9:45
"I'm playing red rank, bottom of the barrel Tekken"
Me, who just reached red and was super proud of it: crying thumbs up cat pic
Don't worry man. I'm 300 hours in with T7 and T8 combined and I only have one character in purple and one in red ranks and he always drops down to yellow. You should be proud IMO... I think 300 hours is a lot of time and I can hardly retain red with my second char.
IM SORRY LOL
@@Exten0 that is a bit of time but don't stress bro, I bet you can get to purple easily if you start gathering information, use a round to watch their strategy and really break em down.
I only have 60 hours since I just got it a week ago, but I hit flame ruler. If I can do it, you can too. I'm trash, and really only fighting with instinct from T7 with barely any lab time at all. Although, I did have 8k games as Heihachi so, my fundamental knowledge is still kind of paying off here. 😅
just think about it like this, every rank is a shitter rank until you reach God of Destruction. that way, every time you rank up, you still feel good about it because if every rank is a shitter rank anyway and if the only actual decent rank is the highest one, might as well enjoy the one in front of you.
@@LaztheLaxIm not stressing it! I got purple with my main, I'll get it with my secondary one day. Lots of knowledge to pick up.
love sitting down and slamming a PhiDX vid with my morning coffee before hopping into some tekken. Thanks for all the guidance so far!
Bro, I love your videos. You teaching Fighting Game fundamentals is just right on. I came back to Tekken coming from T6BR in the arcades. I'm so learning a lot!
the Wang and Wong factor was strong in this tournament
I just want to say I love how emotionally honest you are in your breakdowns, especially of your own habits/reactions. The FGC can be a bit braggadocious, and it's really refreshing to hear you talk about concepts like self esteem and recognition from your peers. I hope to cheer you on at EVO this year.
Excited for the RDC training arc man.
It's crazy how many people don't think of Justin Wong as a FGC goat.
He is one of the most successful fighting game players of all time
Just because he was on the wrong side of the Daigo Parry. Justin is definitely one of the goats, just check him playing Marvel 3.
@@LordBaktorthat daigo parry might have gone super hard, but the chances of it happening were so low that I don't even hold it against JWong if he would have run it back every time.
I feel like after this Justin practiced more before the next tournament day leading him to win his big upset.
Absolutley LOVE this concept!! To see boxbox and scarra playing this game along with FGC pros like Phidx and Jwong, I cant help but love this.
Phi's popoffs are always delight to see.
This was wholesome af and great analysis. You killed it! ❤
My favorite tekken TH-camr learned so much from you
Great video man fantastic breakdown. Appreciate your super honesty regarding the play breakdown.
Love how structured each topic is despite this is from a stream. I can see you put a lot of thoughts into each section and can easily build a video out of each one of them. Even the "What I will tell you, tell you, what I told you" presentation technique application is really interesting to see. Also the explanation on the last fight as to why you popped off.
I don't play fighting games but I enjoyed this heart-warming tale and it was all very well explained. Congrats on the read!
“Fuck your turn I’m doing a RA” 💀💀💀💀💀

You might be my favorite Tekken content creator. Your videos are great.
Justin looooooooves his fundamentals.
Adding on to Jwongs list of fast games he's good at:
Marvel vs Capcom 3.
This guy had so much success with a team thats basically mid to low tier to my knowledge
I love PhiDX breakdowns and analysis... But at the end of the day, I'm here for the pop-offs!!! 🤣🤣🤣

STEP ON HIM, and then-he's weak in the leg! And now he's ducking! Look at that! IT'S SO EAAAASYYY!
Review the Brawlpro vs Joey Fury match
This commentary is golden. Good match!
This brings so much insight, I was wondering why you went full oonga boonga against justin.
I'm glad anyone spreading the good word of fighting games, even if tekken isn't my personal game.
He went full goblin with the pop off 😂
love this analysis, from seeing a players read, almost like the analogy of ‘paper rock scissors’ in tekken.
but hold up 20:35 ‘let that man cook!’ 😂

When Sajam threw shade and you just ate it up like a champ 👌🏻 very much respect that in people big ups to you phidx
Haha it's all fun, I am well known for it at this point

I'd love to see you doing more commentary of your ranked matches while playing them. I suppose that would be a Twitch thing, but I just don't have the time to watch a stream but would still love to see your ranked play with your thoughts on what you're doing well and what you're doing wrong in between or maybe if you have the head space, during the matches.
Great content. Love that you seem to be a nice guy with a good heart, who is also cracked at Tekken.
so next video would be how Sykkuno got so good in just 1.5days
Would love to see a vid comparing Lily's performance versus Celine on day 1 versus day 2. Such a huge improvement on her part that I'd love to see you look at.
Hey PhiDX I've been playing steve a lot more the past few weeks and I've found that his LH->PB stance cancel works very good on Xbox if you just slide your thumb over 4 into 3. I've been able to get it consistently after only about 30 minutes of practice. Just my experience
Thank you Phi for all the content and the guides you make for us. Watching your content made me pick up tekken again and try out Lili! Also I decided to finally invest in a hitbox! Again, thank you for all the educational and amazing content
You can never be ready for Justin Wong.
Lily is so awesome lol. Super glad you guys got to hang out, as a Destiny fan I’m jealous haha
20:40 How my noob ass feels winning a match in yellow ranks at the moment 😂
lmfao the daahhhhh at the end is hilarious good video!
That celebration after beating JWong was funny 😆
Amazing! Just imagine being coached by Phi
Dude with the mad amount of counterhitting you do I'm shocked you don't play more Bryan.
I follow Afro so I saw a lot of JWong before this tournament, I’m like 90% sure JW didn’t practice at all before the round robin because he didn’t think he’d have to fight (not making excuses I’m a big fan of you both) 😂 watch his next coaches match on Sunday and his gameplay changes SO dramatically when he realized he might actually have to play haha. I would love to see this ran back with a little more prep from both players.
lmao @14:22 "Can he finish me?...Pause?" 🤣

14:22 yo when bro said “pause” I laughed so hard 😂😂
This was such an exciting match to watch live

PLEASE interview Brawlpro! He had such a fun run with his team!
Dope vid 💯🔥💪
the commentators did such a good job to build a narrative
"that's our coach!" 😆😆 Good stuff
Im so glad J. Wong showed out because Sajam read a comment where someone said he would not beat any Tekken pro and he did just that 😂 Dont doubt anyone with fgc skills in ANY GAME! Most fundamentals transfer over!
Devil PhiDX Electric "DAAAAAAAaaaaaaaagh!"
Phi………. U da man!!!!!! Damn that was a great set!!!!
I'd love to see you reviewing the Sykkuno's match against PorcelainMaid!
Love the new mindset
Doesn't matter what fg it is, J.Wong won't be a pushover.
Hey @phidx i had a question for you on your BT 1+2....how did you get the crouching 1 to link so fast afterwards? I tried it in training mode and i kept getting down +1....any tips how?
I'm loving how big Tekken 8 is getting. Tekken 8 has the most toxic community, though compared to all the other fighting games I've gotten into lately.
Definitely late to the party, but on match two, at the end if you used the rage burst attack whatever its called when she can start it across the screen, and he does blocks. As long as he doesnt duck, you can get a grab after
Thank you, i was one of probably many who requested this, i would also like to see the one against the Steve player 😁 love your content, my gf and I can’t stop watching it!!
happy its up and running tekken its funn
every match you played was so hype
Hey Phi. Is there any way you can make a video about how to deal with unprecedented irresponsible aggression from a quick opponent? Especially if I'm defending as Jack8, and not some zippy character. I'm getting laid into with string after string after string, with very little frames imbetween, and it only gets worse when their streams dip into lows that I'm not quick enough to react to. All I can do is block, until I'm up against the wall in like second 5 of the match, then I eat a low launcher, (or a mid launcher if I try to anticipate it and crouch block) and then my health bar is gone.
I tried power crushes, but they either jab me before I can get to the armor frames, or they add a low to their string and my power crush is canceled.
What is irresponsible aggression?
@@PhiDX idk man. I use the adjective irresponsible because intense aggression, I imagine, is quite punishable, but I can't see the way clearly.
Characters like Hwoarang, Azucena, Feng, and Bryan, where it feels like I don't get a turn, because I'm too busy blocking strings and I guess I'm too deep in negative frames (from blocking or low pokes sprinkled in) to even get a jab or power crush in between their strings? Its totally possible my reaction time is just ass.
As a jack player I like to control the match with my superior reach and high damage moves that demand respect. But I am having trouble handling players that are so close they can smell my lunch. I can't whiff punish because they can't whiff that close. I can't read their hands for a grab break because their hands are actually obscured by my character model.
LET'S GO JUSTIN!!!!!
All I heard was "SHARINGAN!"
I can’t deny I melted at pichu’s
“That’s our coach!”
And the lil’
“I wanna play like him”

14:22 What a pause lmfao

So when tempo shifts and they begin to”try not to die” which opens them up and they begin to whiff things?
Is this correct for the most part ?
about time u uploaded this
JWong is one of my favorite players. Your title baited me, man. I thought he was gonna go crazy and create some upset.
Do you have a vid on how pro players learn matchups ? My biggest struggle is a lab Reina then go to ranked and play king . Then when I finally get Reina 30 matches later, I can’t act on everything I labbed.
It should still refresh your memory on what you need to work on, right? If you know how to figure out what you need to go, you're set. Just find someone who plays Reina and get into a lobby.
Jesus Fuck, I love fighting games
I’m genuinely surprised you don’t play victor, to me personally he’s literally noctis 2.0, not entirely obviously but I feel like he’d be the obvious pick if you were a noctis main in 7
hello mr content machine. you should run a tournament involving all the communities you coached. offline tv and the rdc peeps among future prospects
It’s all fun and games until somebody hits Justin with the Daigo Jin Kazama Parry.
I ran into Justin in ranked and was mauling him for two rounds. He downloaded my ass so hard. He started playing no risk basic pokes and made me look like a fool.
