Final destination is honestly just a bunch of special effects editors who wanted to get together and have some fun
Even though I cringe at some of the deaths the special effects/practical effects are so nice 😩 love seeing behind the scenes stuff for movies like it
VirtualArmageddon Absolutely! I watched the behind the scenes of the third movie and it was really cool looking at all the work they put into the death scenes, effects and models.
They knew movies should be made for fun, not for money
This movie traumatized me when i was a child, it gives you so much anxiety
not the be that person but a lot of stuff isn't constructed by the editors, even if they have a large role in the series. the first, save a few moments, did not depend much on post for its effects. but fun fact: the original FD was actually a trashed plot for an episode of The X-files! I guess James Wong picked it up, not realizing it'd spawn so many sequels (if it's making that much money though, how could it not?)
there's also a full-length behind the scenes documentary for the third for free on TH-cam where they show how they executed each "death" if anyone's interested. that one has a good mix of practical and special effects.

I never watched the movies in their entirety, just knew about the scenes. Even that was enough to keep childhood me far away from all drains in pools....reading Chuck Palahniuk's Haunted that covered this scene in depth reaffirmed my fear of swimming pools

I’ve seen a video of an escalator suck somebody down in seconds, he would not have been able to even hang on. They’re genuinely so scary, I never step on the metal plate at the top cause of that video

@@Gpenick Yeah I'm disappointed too, especially because of how CGI-heavy this one is. 1 & 2 especially focused on the story *surrounding* the deaths while this one focused more on how bombastic the deaths should be and then the story came later.

The first one is iconic, but I feel like the second one is the most realistic, a car accident could happen whenever so it’s honestly the scariest in that sense. Also they all connect a little bit from what I remember, like every time they figure it out they find out about a time this has happened before to different people, and in one of the sequels I think a character comes back from the first, so I need them to watch all of them in order lol

OnePiece3 well they all cheated death technically which means that somehow someway death is going to kill them as soon as it can. And how they died originally in the flashback is always similar to how they end up dying later on since they cheated it. But I remember there’s a way to avoid it, like if you were the first person to die or the last, I can’t remember, if that person offs themself then I think any other survivors in between are safe and don’t have to die or something.

Think I've done this with Fast & Furious. Bought the bluerays for 2-5 because I thought I'd seen the first. Turns out I'd seen the fourth. Needless to say, I still haven't seen the first 😂
R A T ! WAIT I figured it out! The first 3 are called “Final Destination” and then followed by the number, same with the fifth, but for some reason the fourth one is called “THE Final Destination”... I wonder if they thought it would be the last, only to have a fifth one and go back to the original name 😂

One thing that every Final Destination movie has in common that irritates the hell out of me: 90% of the deaths defy the laws of physics, science, etc.

To be honest, The Final Destination really traumatised me when I was younger. It felt like it was gonna happen to me in real life, but obviously it didn't. Thank God for that.
These movies are the reason why I get so nervous on rolercoasters 😂 everytime i get on, I make peace with me dying.

I binge watched all of these movies in order, went to the bathroom straight after in the middle of the night and jumped when the toilet flushed because I thought I was next.
Needless to say I slept with a helmet, shoulder pads, elbow pads, knee pads, actually pads and pillows wrapped around my body.
Death: Traps you with the straps to all your pads, breaks the middle supports on your bed so you're sucked down into the middle, and suffocates you with your pillows and mattress.

I was so confused because this isn’t the first or second or third final destination?? I barely remember this one, but other people are saying it’s the fourth?? You guys need to watch the first ones, even though they’re a little older, they all sort of connect... like every ending is left out in the open with it a little bit hopeful but also like nahh there’s no hope. I remember in a later film you reunite with one of the only people that ever survived from the first movie, so even though they don’t totally connect they are all in the same universe I think. The first three are iconic tho! Plane crash, then car accident, then roller coaster (I think). All must watches!
