I have always loved Neil's earlier songs, these were examples of a master songsmith honing his craft. This song "Sunday Sun" is a wonderfully happy song, it talks of the simplicity of life, "Let's go walking, and we'll talk about some things" and in our current situation, what we wouldn't give to enjoy the most simple pleasures, it speaks of the joy we feel when the Sun is shining, "Sunday Sun, when you run, gets me feeling like I wanna fly" Neil is a master of evoking a feeling, of a time and of a place, and getting right into our soul, a fabulous song, brilliantly conveyed. The interview, is very revealing, here is a man, Neil Diamond, a mere 27 years of age, speaking as of a man much older, and wiser, his comments are very erudite, and shows he had his finger on the pulse back then, he spoke very thoughtfully, about issues that affected young people back then, like a politician, but more switched on. It is a very rare thing to find a personality in the entertainment business speak about issues that many are not clued up about, what this shows is that Neil Diamond was more than a singer/songwriter/performer, he actually thought about his place in the world, what his responsibilities are, and how he can make an impression on people. He certainly did that, and continued to do so throughout his illustrious career.

What's a crow or pom mean? I'm a American from Oklahoma. Australians have a different language. Pom here would be put with ass. Crow is a bird or name of a native American tribe. Also crow bait. LOL. I only heard Australians called aussie. I figured your terms are local words.

Neil mentioned in a 1992 interview I read in a newspaper that he had quit smoking. He said it allowed him to add 8 more songs to his concerts. By the late 1990s or early 2000s, though, he was smoking cigars. But I haven't seen a picture of him with a cigar for several years now. Maybe Katie made him give them up.

I have always loved Neil's earlier songs, these were examples of a master songsmith honing his craft. This song "Sunday Sun" is a wonderfully happy song, it talks of the simplicity of life, "Let's go walking, and we'll talk about some things" and in our current situation, what we wouldn't give to enjoy the most simple pleasures, it speaks of the joy we feel when the Sun is shining, "Sunday Sun, when you run, gets me feeling like I wanna fly" Neil is a master of evoking a feeling, of a time and of a place, and getting right into our soul, a fabulous song, brilliantly conveyed.
The interview, is very revealing, here is a man, Neil Diamond, a mere 27 years of age, speaking as of a man much older, and wiser, his comments are very erudite, and shows he had his finger on the pulse back then, he spoke very thoughtfully, about issues that affected young people back then, like a politician, but more switched on. It is a very rare thing to find a personality in the entertainment business speak about issues that many are not clued up about, what this shows is that Neil Diamond was more than a singer/songwriter/performer, he actually thought about his place in the world, what his responsibilities are, and how he can make an impression on people. He certainly did that, and continued to do so throughout his illustrious career.

What's a crow or pom mean? I'm a American from Oklahoma. Australians have a different language. Pom here would be put with ass. Crow is a bird or name of a native American tribe. Also crow bait. LOL. I only heard Australians called aussie. I figured your terms are local words.

Neil mentioned in a 1992 interview I read in a newspaper that he had quit smoking. He said it allowed him to add 8 more songs to his concerts. By the late 1990s or early 2000s, though, he was smoking cigars. But I haven't seen a picture of him with a cigar for several years now. Maybe Katie made him give them up.
