Omg thanks 🙏 it will help been sitting in spot for over 2 months the task rabbit i ordered 3 times somehow did not get through. Dont you wish we could use the whole soace by using a hack saw to cut those tiny walls on side and the top to get a real closet space easy to reach in ??? I sure dream of it , its happening here lol 😂
Did you screw the back rod into the wall at both ends? Or did you do it a few holes inward? I am working on this now and noticed a lot of difficulty with matching up to studs.
Yes you can install it without the metal poles on the bottom, but then you must have a well leveled floor..... Unless you don't care if your closet is not leveled....
Excellent video, thank you! I can only catch three studs for one suspension rail (I would use #8 2.5 or 3" wood screws) but Ikea recommends inserting four screws . Would you recommend that I use a toggle anchor bolt, into the drywall, for a fourth and maybe fifth hole, for balance, or is it unnecessary? Thank you so much!
@maxplus2849 can you please share the toggle bolt Homedepot link? My drywall is only 0.5 inch thick and not always has wood stud behind it at the location of the rod rail. What other screw (link please) can I use to fasten rod rail to my drywall?
These are wood studs, and I used these screws: www.homedepot.com/p/Grip-Rite-8-2-1-2-in-Phillips-Bugle-Head-Coarse-Thread-Gold-Screws-1-lb-Pack-212GS1/100128995
Is this pretty sturdy? We bought one for my sons room. It looks like it’s just suspended there with shelving in between. I probably missing something. Great video by the way
My recommendation is to pre-drill the holes into the studs and don't use a box cutter on those boxes, you could damage the material (ask me how I know)
Love the soothing music, and I can’t wait to do this. So many DIY folks talk WAY too much for my liking. Your tutorial is straight to the point!
Great! Hope it works!
Man this is great! I've been eyeballing the Aurdal system for a while but I had no idea how easy installation could be until I saw your video.
Yep, you can totally do it yourself!
Thanks! I have about 30 boxes of this sitting in my garage waiting for me to get motivated - this was very helpful.
Glad it was helpful!
I don’t think I would have done it without this video. Thank you so much
You are welcome!
This didn’t tell me what I needed but… apparently the mount doesn’t come with screws. I spent ages looking through all the boxes trying to find them.
You didn't find them
because there are no screws included for the rail.
Likely because the hardware needed will vary depending on what you are installing on. I use toggle bolts for any spot there is no stud
Excellent Video, I'm installing a bunch of these today and you video is a great help.
Glad it helped
Gracias por mostrarnos de forma ilustrativa la manera en que lo instalaste!!! Bendiciones desde Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 🎊🎉🙌🏻
Thank you!
Snapping the little drawer piece into the drawer… you make it look so easy. I’m breaking my fingers tryna get this!!
in some places I had to use a hammer :)
Omg thanks 🙏 it will help been sitting in spot for over 2 months the task rabbit i ordered 3 times somehow did not get through.

Great video. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Can you make the drawers closer together? It looks like it can be one notch closer together.
Yes, you can move them closer
Did you screw the back rod into the wall at both ends? Or did you do it a few holes inward? I am working on this now and noticed a lot of difficulty with matching up to studs.
I screwed it going sideways from the hole into the stud. You're right, its hard to hit the stud going straight forward every time.
SO GOOD! Build our closet next
Thank you. I sure can, let me know when!
Great video and great job.
Thank you!
Awesome work.
Thank you!
Inspiring. Thank you.
You are so welcome!
Where did you find the bracket that fixes the shelf onto the wall? I was looking for something like that but didn't have an Ikea part that does that.
It doesn't come with the set, I just used it to secure the shelves more strongly. You can use any L bracket, I don't think Ikea sells them separately.
Very nice, thanks. Gonna set up this weekend
Have fun!
This was helpful! May I ask the height from the floor where you've drilled the suspension rail?
To the bottom of the bracket 77 1/2"
Great video
Glad you enjoyed it
Did the brackets on the lower part that secure it to the wall come with yours? We can’t find that with ours
The bracket is not included, I used my own bracket, but it is not required
Does the suspension rail come with screws or did you have to get them separately ?
Screws you have to buy yourself separately.
@@maxplus2849 thank you!!
Curious about the customizing you did when you used your saw? Can you explain what you were doing there please?
I cut the panel there to open the access to the door.
How wide is that closet? And how many systems/cabinets were used? Looks great!!
Are the metal poles on the bottom required? Can it be installed without those feet so the bottom shelf touches the floor?
Yes you can install it without the metal poles on the bottom, but then you must have a well leveled floor..... Unless you don't care if your closet is not leveled....
@@maxplus2849 makes sense, thank you!!
Which box did those initial screws come in?
The ones you used to hang the brackets into the wall.
I bought them separately.
What type of screws did you use? Looking to go to hardware store and pick some up tomorrow.
Hi. Where did you put the L shape brace/bracket? Is it at the very bottom? Are you able to put the drawer in with it? thanks!
Yes, the drawer will fit there and the L bracket is at the very bottom.
I only screwed into the studs, and didn't use any toggle bolts. I think you should be fine with 3 screws, since the suspension rail is pretty sturdy.
Glad you found the video useful! )))
Keep in mind you can a.ways add another screw directly under the rail into your stud.
I'm installing mine, when installing the clothing rails going from the unit to the drywall would you recommend using plastic anchors?
When I can't find a stud I just use the toggle bolts, but you have to hit some studs for sure in some places.
@@maxplus2849 ok I'm going to pick up some toggle bolts today, thank you for the feedback
@maxplus2849 can you please share the toggle bolt Homedepot link? My drywall is only 0.5 inch thick and not always has wood stud behind it at the location of the rod rail. What other screw (link please) can I use to fasten rod rail to my drywall?
Do you have metal studs?? If so, what screws did you use
These are wood studs, and I used these screws:
www.homedepot.com/p/Grip-Rite-8-2-1-2-in-Phillips-Bugle-Head-Coarse-Thread-Gold-Screws-1-lb-Pack-212GS1/100128995
Are these wooden panels soft edge or straight edge. Soft edge are good quality. Does Ikea sell soft edge white panels?
Yes, this edge is soft, rounded
Is this pretty sturdy? We bought one for my sons room. It looks like it’s just suspended there with shelving in between. I probably missing something.
Great video by the way
Yep, pretty sturdy, hanging on the wall rail. Plus it has the legs on the floor. Should be no problem.
👍👍👍
which is the one you purchased?? i really liked this closet system
It's Aurdal System, you just type it into the Ikea website and it will give you all the options available.
Algorithm boosting comment. this was solid
just wondering how long it took you to build and install? thanks
6 hours total
What height did you place the brackets at?
To the bottom of the bracket 77 1/2"
Can we install this system as floating off the ground shelf without the legs ?
Of course you can...
What kind of stud finder do you use?
www.homedepot.com/p/C-H-Hanson-Magnetic-Stud-Finder-03040/202563186
This is the kind I use.
Can I have details of the screws you used on the suspension rail? I'm not sure which kind to buy.
I used these screws:
www.homedepot.com/p/Grip-Rite-8-2-1-2-in-Phillips-Bugle-Head-Coarse-Thread-Gold-Screws-1-lb-Pack-212GS1/100128995
@@maxplus2849 Thanks a lot!
Is there an aurdal half side? I dont see it anywhere
Never mind I watched more closely- we have the same issue to workaround and this is genius!
I myself cut off a large piece, and made a half.
Umm Max you comin to put mines together? 🤣 my anxiety will hv me crying
Depends where you're located.
how long should it take for an amateur to install this?
I think about 7-10 hours
Question can you use it without the legs?
You probably can, but it's not meant to be used like that... definitely not recommended, just because you will significantly be lacking support.
Can't we install supporting brackets at the bottom instead of legs ?
The closet looks great. Do you remember how much you spent on your entire closet system ?
I installed it for a customer, not sure what she paid.
We paid $500 total
I paid about $600 for 2 closet systems. Different configuration from the one in the video though but very similar…
My recommendation is to pre-drill the holes into the studs and don't use a box cutter on those boxes, you could damage the material (ask me how I know)
I have 6 years of experience, that's I open them that way, but you're absolutely right in your recommendation.
What are the dimensions of your closet?
13.5ft * 2ft
Hi. Enjoyed watching your wardrobe installation. Would be interested in you doing the same for my home. I’m in London, England.
Would love to, but I live in California, so that's probably not going to work :)
@@maxplus2849 California! Wow yes that’s a little way from here! Thank you for replying. Thank you for your great videos.
You're welcome, glad you liked them :)
