My friend.. From a very grateful person.. Actually saved me 1500 euros.. As had a quote from local fitter.. Outrageous

      I just got my first ever bit of IKEA furniture and I have just opened teh boxes, I cannot believe how DUMB the instructions are......I mean would it really be that difficulty to put stickers on the panels and then A attached to B, C attached to D then AB attached to CD etc lol......

    I just want to thank you so much. I built my entire 3 door PAX wardrobe from start to finish watching your videos. Following your videos made it so much easier and allowed me to put everything together in the quarter of the time it would normally take me. Ikea really ought to get you to do official how-to videos for all their furniture! You just made it so much easier and easier to understand than their paper instructions. Many many thanks.
    Ps. Please forgive me but I’m putting this comment on all the videos I followed and found useful. Thanks again.

    Sooo I found this incredibly helpful. My husband and i bought sliding door wardrobes but not from IKEA, and the instructions are absolutely maddening! We couldn't make heads or tails, and niether could our neighbours or friends. It was just very messed up. We just used your video as an assisting manual and compared all the pieces. It seems to be less overwhelming so far. 😅❤️ Thank you for making this video!

    I finished one frame thanx to your directions. However, I constructed it in the closet (because a finished unit would have a difficult time bringing into the closet due to its 93 inch height and turning the corner to get it in) but I now have no space in the closet with the 1st frame to complete another. I wonder how difficult it would be if Ikea made the frames shorter and got to the 93inch height with an addition the way they construct the Billy.

    • @PPFlatPack
      @PPFlatPack  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The back panel holds all frame together. Can do without but have to attach to the wall. Still have to be carful because it can colapse easily. I would sugdest to attach the back.

    • @CinemaRescored
      @CinemaRescored ปีที่แล้ว

      @@PPFlatPack I understand. But what if I attach only the lower half of the panel? I'm guessing that would be significantly more stable than having no panel at all.
      Also, I'm not sure if I really need to anchor the 2 metre tall, 35 cm deep wardrobe. It should be stable enough, especially with all the weight of the clothes inside. I could be wrong though.

    I so wished I had watched this before I hired 2 guys to put up 3 of them attached. They left out parts, put parts in upside down! and I think I have to take it apart and start all over. Your videos are swell! I have a floor that slants, any suggestions for adding to the uneveness to level the cabinets? The 2 guys shoved a few small pieces of wood under the connecting walls and I think it is not safe.

    • @PPFlatPack
      @PPFlatPack  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You right there is to many cowboys out there I did few repairs similar to your case. Regarding slanting floor - first cabinets have to be done correctly if the flor is very bad I usually fix the wardrobes to the wall or adjust the legs and doors but sometime you can fix this problem with small plastic spacers under the wardrobe. You can see how this is done here th-cam.com/video/fTvlmmJts7g/w-d-xo.html

    Hello! Any suggestions and/or videos on how to deal with HVAC vents. In order to maximize our closet space, the potential design would involve covering the only vent in closet. Our closet is connected to master bath and there’s another vent in the bathroom. We are a little concerned with the closet potentially getting cold and/or moisture build up. Can the PAX bottom be cut and vent system extended into unit?

    Hi there, thanks for this great video. I have a quick question for you: although the base panel should be installed in the third holes from the bottom in the side panels but would it also fit in the bottom set of holes in the side panels (e.g. if we wanted the wardrobe to rest flat on a self-made support platform rather than install the IKEA base board between the bottom and third holes)? I know that is not how it is meant to be installed but the bottom holes look to have the same spacing as the third holes from the bottom so I think it might be possible?

    • @PPFlatPack
      @PPFlatPack  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think it will work. Question is how the doors will line up because if I understand right by placing a panel on both sides (top and bottom) will be in the first line that will do about 8-10cm gap between the top of the wardrobe and door. All that said it is possible to shorten Ikea pax wardrobe without adjusting doors and video how to do that will be out within 2 weeks.

Cracking and crumbling of cheap particle board and breaking of the wood pins.. and it is completely and totally USELESS!!! Over $100 wasted and more gas to be spent returning it if they will take it back. Hoping for a refund.

      I don't even install them. I teach tolerancing in what I do. Technically the feel are inadequate for most types of misalignment. Even if they worked, the load would be concentrated and would creep due to the viscoelastic nature of particle board. Just shim if needed around the parameter.

    Don’t build it on the side like this dude did. You will crack the bottom when trying to stand it up. Build it like the manual

      Build it correctly and you won't have that problem.
