So thrilled when I found out that DB has his studio in my grandfathers old house, where my dad was born, I wrote once and asked him if the layout had changed much and received such a lovely letter from one of his staff..... I would have loved a peek inside lol ..... my grandfather also owned a house opposite where he kept his horse...how times have changed now lol
..i love this guy..his photos, always excellent in my mind..but its the person who gets to me the most..ive watched every interview of his that i can get hold of..they are for the most part humorous and he seems to be enjoying life, which im sure he is..his stories of the who's who of who hes worked with are always fun...long live david bailey
David ( along with many other fine British Photographers ) is the real deal, seen it all and been there at a time in history when photography really told a story about that moment in time, acknowledged as one of the best because he is, we won't see his like again .......
Amazing person. He took pictures of me on the set of Revolution in 1980s. I would have loved to see them but never did and as I wasn't famous I can't imagine they exist now.
Great interview video! I feel honored to have been in a group show with him about 5 years ago called The Unflinching Gaze at the BRAG gallery in Australia. I had a portrait of Duane Michals in the show. If you read this, David, keep shooting.
When I was a teenager, my mum bought an Olympus OM-10 and made me model for her. I hated it! It wasn't long before I was behind the camera instead. Mum had one of David Bailey's books and I used to love looking at it. Such an honest, humorous guy with no pretensions, not afraid to push boundaries and show something new. Such a great attitude. Watch Mark Lawson's interview with Bailey too. Just made me love him even more. Long live David Bailey!

“I’d rather take pictures than eat lunch.” That’s why he became successful.
After all this time he still has an amazing sense of humor!

I broke my Olympus camera on a train. Cheer Up Sleepy Jean? (Jane)
Jean remains beautiful.
The camera has lied since it was invented
Is he still alive?
Oh yes the camera can lie. Everything is not what it seems. 🇺🇦
David Bailey was born on the same day as moors murderer Ian Brady, January 2, 1938.
