Are you excited to go camping here in Sedona Arizona with the new rules and restrictions up 525 and 89b? Let us know which campground would be or is your favorite!
Thanks for the video, upsetting they closed off so much of the forest to the public. Glad I got to experience it last year before they changed everything for the worse.
You can thank all the van lifers and homeless who tried to live there for more than two weeks. They ruined it for everyone else. When we had less tourists we didn’t have any problems.
Yeah it is. I have fond memories in previas growing up! So stoked we were able to find one and covert! Works so well! Currently in it at a park up in Nevada!
Good job on the video - We were up there a couple of years ago and stayed at Javelina - took our ATV all up and down the 525, it was basically wide open at that time and wasn't really too crowded either. I think some of the folks in the Sedona area were getting fed up with folks basically trashing the place and leaving. That happens everywhere more or less, but I did see most folks being very considerate of the land... Very sad, such a pretty area.
because so many people were shitting and leaving garbage everywhere . it used to be crazy out there before the new rules people living full time for longer than 14 days
Yes. We actually get good service at the beginning and end of 525. Middle sections are spotty. And 89a didn’t provide any service for us. We use us cellular and it partners off AT&T and Verizon towers. Hope that helps. Enjoy your time there!
This area is now closed to dispersed camping. The only one i know of around the area is down the Hwy about 10 for miles on AZ trust land. A permit is required BUT there are mostly overrun by homeless people living there waaaay past the 14 day limit. Run down and unsafe to stay even for a night now. So sad that the land is treated like this
I just did a quick check on www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/coconino/recarea/?recid=84034 and it appears everything is still open for all camping in the 8 designated spots!
lol. it is the democrats who are trying to keep public lands open. the repubs want everything privately owned, for cattle, oil drilling, mining, etc.. who are the politicians designating national forests/monuments, and who are the politicians rescinding those designations?
Way to go, Interjecting politics into this! The new restrictions are simply a case of it being an overused and trashed area. The USFS is super conservative by the way.
Really that's the reason for closing? 🤦♂️ no, it is because of shitty people being fckn slobs and basically living out there... Left or Right, someone had to step in! But nice try though!

I am heading toward AZ to continue ue my full time boondocking adventure but, I think I will skip this area. Thanks for the heads up.

You bet! It certainly is. You were definitely a lucky one being able to have the true solitude of the area all to yourself!

The Toyota preview is a legendary van congrats on having one!👏 I haven’t seen one since I was kid.

Yeah for sure. I think so too!!

Too bad they didn't just enforce the rules and just called it quits for everyone good and bad
Haha. Yeah. If only they could’ve enforced the real rules in the first place. Oh well. It is what it is at this point. Haha
Silly question- but is there any type of cell service here? Just curious if I should purchase a satellite communicator before my trip. Thanks!

Thank you so much! I purchased one just in case :) @@ArboursAbroad
We need a van tour!! Noww!
Haha. I know! We really need to get through our buildout series. Than we will for sure be doing a tour!!!
I hated to here it. My family always enjoys finding a spot to ourselves, but still fun anyway!
Yeah for sure! Totally can relate!

The entire 525 is closed to dispersed camping now, including 89b??
We were planning on going back in March. We hope this isn’t true!!!

What an excellent review, Thanks!
You bet! Glad it was helpful! Cheers!
Keep voting Democrat. There will soon be zero access.

So how exactly would the Republicans deal with the human excrement, trash, violence and excess staying at the campsites?
