Well actually the song was about trying to resist the temptation of something you love but is probably bad for you - I tend to take it literally and metaphorically lol. Candy? Oh! You mean lollies! Hanabie has been blowing up lately. You can't help but love them. They are cute, unique, and heavy. They have been playing shows outside of Japan, and gaining new fans at a steady rate. They call their style "Harajukucore". Hardcore music out of the Harajuku district of Tokyo. Check out more songs from Hanabie, you will be glad you did. Their songs seem to focus on cultural issues of modern-day Japan.
"Hanabie" is a Spring season-word in haiku poetry and refers to a cold wind that blows when the cherry blossom trees bloom (which is soon in Japan). This band started in 2015, did a crowdfunding in 2020 to stay afloat financially and produce an album-it paid off. They've gotten popular overseas but before that they were regulars at various girl-band/group events on the club circuit in Japan often performing with the likes of Trident, Wagamama Rakia, Code of Zero, among others. Chika their current drummer is their fourth, no other personnel changes-she was the house drummer at a club near the city of Nagoya, rather obscure, but has fit in really well.
Hanabie have elements of being a real life BABYMETAL with some Band-Maid and other bands such as TRiDENT, having been around and underground nearly as long. TRiDENT and Hanabie are both bands of school friends where BABYMETAL were produced from a fake idol school a couple of years before - it’s like life imitating art. I find it interesting that Yukina was a maid like Miku, both are super outgoing powerhouses of energy and confidence, in public at least - I guess that’s just a natural money spinner when you’re at school or at that age if you have that kind of personality. Side note: Japan’s music education program leads to great things, as did Iceland’s. Oddly, both spawned awesome heavy metal bands too. I think that shows metal is inherently far more popular than popular culture wants us to believe.
@@allanmoger1838 It's true that music education in Japan is advanced. An aspect of it is the popular music clubs that exist at most Japanese high schools. Just about all the members of the Japanese bands that I can think of are products of those clubs. Another factor is the prevalence of music schools, whether of the two-year vocational type or the four-year academic type. Many Japanese band members are graduates of those and have a solid foundation in music theory and performance. Also, Japan no doubt has, whether on an absolute or per-capita basis, the greatest number of live-music clubs and highly developed club circuits, including many fests and other events for all-female bands, which has allowed the Hanabies and Tridents to thrive. As far as the club scene for all-female bands goes, Japan is and has been light-years ahead of the rest of the world.
@@otobokegaijin6218 As always, I really appreciate your comments. You are a trusted source of information on the music scene in Japan. Much respect to you. 😇🙏🏼
If you havent figured it out already Japan is Loaded with tons of highly talented and highly interesting art. Their Music scene is all inclusive and yields some of the most diverse and Energetic artists you may ever discover. Performance and Music extraordinaire.
Loved this reaction. Geniun! Had to learn the guitar for this and most of the work is in the PM'ing for sure. The drumming is insane. Beautiful chaos all over. HANABIE really are kickass.
They are fire. Hanabie is known for their genre flips, time changes, cool transitions and heavy riffs (often behind "cute" vocals) & of course Yukina's growls/screamo. They started out in high school doing covers of a band named Maximum the Hormone (A very influential/popular band in Japan), who is also known for the same crazy and amazing song structures. Dive deeper they are fire, The Japanese metal/rock scene as a whole is outstanding. Nemophila, Band-Maid & Lovebites & other bands who are incredibly talented.
so great to see you discovering all these amazing bands. stick with hanabie, it´s worth it. they started as a maximum the hormone cover band. hanabie is such a good band. so much energy and talent. together with lovebites and nemophila my favourite band.
Loved your breakdown for the song, you obviously loved it. Try Pardon me I have to go now, any song is cool but I think you would also love their use of video effects for that song as well as the tune itself.
Had the chance to see them live last year - they're amazing and totally legit - they are good live musicians and singers (and entertainers!) ! The lady with blue hair is Matsuri and she's the composer (and second vocalist - clean tones). The purple one is bassist Matsuri (also in charge of design and costumes) (EDIT - HETTSU of course - never press "save" without rereading!). Tasmanian pocket devil is Yukina (growls, rap, chipmunk vocals). Sae was the drummer here but she left the band prior to their first world tour and was replaced by Chika (and she's amazing live!). This song is about sugar addiction and how to fight it! Most of their songs deal with very real issues affecting Japan's young urban generation: from the risks of dating apps to workplace harassment, procastination and video game addiction, but always with their own unmistikable style. Next song: I propose "Pardon Me I have to go now"
Hi NittPicc i'm so glad you found HANABIE. They are one of the funnest metal bands around at the moment (Hint: the drummer changed. It's Chika know and they are better than ever)
Your reactions are always fun because of how genuinely into it you get, plus the underlying music theory knowledge and ear. Hanabie, for me, sit in there with Lovebites. Nemophila, Broken By The Scream, Gacharic Spin, Passcode, Fate Gear, Atarashii Gakko and Otoboke Beaver, for my favourite Japanese groups discoveries over the last 6 or more months. I Like BabyMetal, and there are another 5 - 6 Japanese bands that I like a few songs of, but those above are the big 9 for me. Other Hanabie songs - Be The Gal - L.C.G - Pardon Me I Have To Go Now - Otaku Lovely Legend - NEET GAME - TOUSOU Some more Nemophila would be great, and Lovebites! A reaction to Broken By The Scream would be fun :) The song Rising Sun would be an amusing one to see your reaction to!
AMAI MY MIND!!! The band’s name, 花冷え, is written in Roman characters from using the Hepburn system as HANABIE, to Indicate the Japanese pronunciation はなびえ(four MORA), which sounds something like “Ha-Na-Bi-Eh” (four syllables). HANABIE are Yukina (Vo.), Matsuri (Gu., Vo.), Hettsu (Ba., Vo), Chika (Dr.), the most recent of many drummers. The real name of this song is WARE AMATOU, which you see and hear throughout the video. Check out BE THE GAL, EARLY SUMMER VER. and TOUSOU (Run Away).
I've been listening to these ladies almost 3 years I guess, since this video came out. I remember I was confused when I first saw them. At first it seemed like an idol group to me but they were playing their instruments. Which is unusual for an idol group. Also, the song didn't sound like typical alt idol music, even the ones that do similar genres. But I did know I really liked it. I know now that they are not an idol group. They are just some school friends and metalhead girls that decided to form a metal band when they were like 15 (the drummer is new to the band). They write all their music, mostly by Matsuri {vocals, guitar) and Yukina (harsh vocals, rap). There is an occasional song by Hettsu (bass, vocals). They've been around for almost 10 years now but just started blowing up last year. You can't go wrong with any of their videos. They sing about serious things that any young woman can relate to but still maintain a great sense of humor. Oh and Yukina (harsh vocals, rap) has a tendency to murder people in their videos, not always but a few times. If you want to hear one with a lot of hip hop/rap check out REIWA Dating Apps Generation.
Hanibe's music has the illusion of complexity. They are absolutely incredible. Got my tickets to see them this May in Minnesota. For more Hanabie screaming rap check out Reiwa dating apps generation.
I'm so jealous I just found out they were going to be here but I'm going to be at an electric callboy show 6 days before their show so I don't know if I can make it work
@@Anarchistcowboy It's not easy. I'm not rich. I live no where close to Minnesota. Plane tickets. Hotel room. and all the other costs. Hey, ya only live once and I love this shit.
They have those strawberry hats on Amazon, I'm tempted to buy one for when I see them in Seattle. They have been around awhile but exploded recently with a string of entertaining videos. Right now my top two are "Be the GAL" and "Pardon Me, I Have To Go Now".
GO! GO! GO! You will love the show. I found a bootleg shirt at one of those "T-Shirt places" and wore that to the show I attended :) . Album cover from Hanabie Kaika Sengen :) . Of course I bought a couple of official shirts at the show ;) .
As soon as I saw you were doing them and had to watch just to see your reaction! lol. Honestly I'm not into screatm stuff but they are pretty fun anyway. I watch them mostly for shock factor.
If it helps, they're in Drop-D tuning, which is standard guitar tuning but the low E is tuned down to D. The "one chord" is D5, which might be why it's hard to determine the key, since they're only hitting the root and the 5th. (And yes, maybe 2 notes technically doesn't constitute a chord, but in guitar-land that debate was lost in the 80s.)
Hello Princess NittPicc! I hope you are having an awesome day! I'm surprised they didn't recommend "Pardon Me, I Have to Go Now" as the first song, but all of their videos I have watched are pretty fun. Please take very good care of yourself and have a wonderful week. I'm looking forward to picking on you again on Sunday.
Old dog....new tricks. If you had described this to me I would think that it's everything I hate. But I love it! Neet Game, Be the Gal and more. Just goes to show...you're never too old
I'm glad you finally got here! Hanabie. are fantastic. I don't even know what else to say, they are just all around awesome and fun. Another step into the seemingly infinite rabbit hole of great Japanese metal and rock. Looking forward to your next one!
The root genre genre of their music I'd say is "metalcore" which is a hybrid of thrash metal with hardcore punk. I'm not sure, but was that reoccurring chord you mentioned an open E power chord? Very common for heavy songs to circle around the open E power chord in one way or another due to the "heaviness". It's the palm mute technique that gives metal and heavy music in general the heavy guitar "crunch" sound. Yes, they play out live. Have been touring Europe and the U.S., probably some other countries too I would guess. Saw them in NYC last winter. If you looked into Hanabie, you probably know by now that Maximum the Hormone they cite as their primary inspiration. This would be a good video to see why. Has a nearly 1.5 minute long intro but you can hear a little of their other music during it. th-cam.com/video/IC-wDpwzEt4/w-d-xo.html. Another artist I'd recommend a reacts video for is Kim Dracula th-cam.com/video/X6o7RtOHpVc/w-d-xo.html. Don't know if you've been introduced to Lorna Shore yet, if not this will blow your mind in a different way. Very proficient musicians. And yes, the vocals are real. Technique is key, only has standard vocal effects like some reverb etc. th-cam.com/video/qyYmS_iBcy4/w-d-xo.html. How about some Indian music? th-cam.com/video/i4FqGPRQWFM/w-d-xo.html
I'm pretty sure this song is in D, and Matsuri's guitar is in drop-D tuning - it still has the same kind of low open strings sound as older metal in standard tuning, but a whole tone lower.
@@JudgeMingus Right, I misspoke. Would would have made more sense if I said open top string power chord. I never got past beginner on guitar so in my head it's hand position and not how the tuning is set. When I used to try to play, I was tuned to whatever my top string was at that day LOL.
I've been watching your videos for a couple of days now. I had to sub when I saw this one. This is one of the best songs I discovered last year. Keep it up!
The song is is a commentary on Japan's fixation on staying slim while simultaneously encouraging overindulgence in sugary snacks. Hanabie calls themselves a Harajuku-Core band. They blend Japanese Youth culture fashion with social commentary and their own especially dark humor. They use wild fashion and crazy costumes (They did a live stream dressed entirely in Winnie-the-Pooh costumes) and sometimes they blend in trad Japanese instruments. The bass player is their fashion guru and usually hangs back but occasionally come up front and goes over the top. Hanabie is consistently entertaining - not surprising since they started in high school as a Maximum The Hormone cover band. (MTH is another band you should check out)
Well, I've been registered since your first Band-Maid video and I'm going to take advantage of this video to write my first comment. Little story, I discovered Band-Maid in 2020 (thanks COVID for that), I discovered Nemophila and Hanabie a little later, being a fan of rock and metal but also of anime, I was immediately hooked to these three groups and have listened to them since, even if I have a preference for Band-Maid and Hanabie who for me really have their own style but I digress. Concerning Hanabie, from memory, they started as a group doing covers of Maximum the Hormones, a famous Japanese metal group known for its variations of style, tempo ect ect (I recommend in passing), MtH could be compared to System of A down to a certain extent if that gives you an idea. So as a result, Hanabie has to keep this kind of “freedom” which can surprise and brings freshness. Regarding the vocal part, we mainly have Yukina (harsh vocals) and Matsuri (guitar and blue hair). Yukina is just cute and can sing in a cute way too, which contrasts greatly during the screamo passages (she's also adorable in a lot of videos via her facial expressions, but I digress again lol). Matsuri, sings in a more "classical" way but I find a real charm in her voice, perhaps a very sharp side, I don't really know how to describe it, I am neither a musician nor a singer, but she is part of the genre of female voices that have character just in their tone and that make me melt. In short, between the two of them and the music they produce within their group, I really liked it and I'm happy that the Yukina surprise worked for you ^^.
Same as me over a year ago. Browsing youtube for new music, clicked on a thumbnail of 2 adorable Japanese girls in maid outfits playing guitar. immediately fell in love. From there I discovered Nemophila and Hanabie. Fell in love with them as well.
Yes!!! Was one of your suggestors from the Band Maid vids. I knew you would enjoy. Not wrong with Hanabie's mix of hip hop and electronic genres. Try Parson Me, I Have to Go Now, Be the GAL, OTAKU Lovely Densetsu, TOUSOU, and maybe my favorite Reiwa Dating Apps Generation 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Hanabie (pronounced HAHN-a-bi-ǝ) This is what you get when Babymetal and Maximum the Hormone have a love child. They actually started in high school, playing MTH covers. Clearly one of THE new metal bands to watch. Most of their songs are quite pointed, concerning social issues like dating app abuse, sexual harassment, drugs, human trafficking, cheating etc. “We Love Sweets” is about having an unhealthy relationship to sugar. Members: Vocalist (Harsh, rap)- Yukina Guitarist and Clean vocals - Matsuri Bassist and backing vocals - Hettsu Drums - Chika (replaced Sae in 2023) (Their producer, Gaku Taura, is also the drummer for Crystal Lake. He sat in on drums for Hanabie when they were between full-time drummers.) They have aleady put out two albums and toured Europe and North America. Pretty much everything about Hanabie is great. My favourite aspect is the way many if their songs focus on important topics *very* rarely mentioned in any genre of music. Like sugar addiction. Or how dating apps affect romance. Or periods.

Hanabie = Han-ah-bee-eh = #Harajukucore = 🔥🔥🔥🔥 I finally persuaded their wiki page to mention that their genre is Harajukucore. 🙄 I’ve been listening to them since 2018 when they released their EP “Cherry Blossoms are Blooming” and then they released one of the best albums of the pandemic “Girl’s Reform Manifest” which is where ‘Sweets comes from. They have since released another album “Reborn Superstar”, and given Matsuri’s (gt/vocal) genius, I’m not arguing with the title. It’s also as epic as the other two CDs. Hanabie are big on social issues and seem to have the morals and ethics you’d hope young people have, and increasingly don’t. Workplace abuse, dating apps, junk food, reclusion, gaming culture, PMS - they make music about it all! Matsuri’s genius is providing perfect moods for any given subject while being 100% Hanabie every step of the way. Hanabie are top of the category for me, if the category consists of all female rock and metal bands from Japan and Korea*. This just proves it isn’t always about the most complex or best performed or produced music, it’s about how much it appeals to any individual. I appreciate LOVEBITES far more than I listen to them, for example. *Some of these band’s members embrace being female and the juxtaposition that has in rock, as well as being Japanese and using that perceived inherent cultural difference to the west, and some do not, they just want to be seen as mainstream bands in world music. I see it more as a category that lets you know you can expect quality music with certain nuances, delivered professionally by accomplished musicians. If you say “Japanese girl’s bands”, which is a term they use in their own industry, then you generally have a clue as to what they are about. Hanabie are one of the mild deviations, they are just a bit more of everything, and I love it.
I loved your reaction. Your facial expresions had me crying 😂. Hanabie became one of my favorite bands with listeni g to rhem just once. Since i know you have a soft spot for hip hop, I recommend their song "reiwa matching generation". These ladies are also very much into urban styiles and it shows a lot in that song. Once again, excellen reaction i could tell you had a blast and cant wait to see you dig deep into these bands and the rest of Japanese artists across all genres. Subbed!
Hanabie happens to be one of the most energetic shows I’ve ever seen!! These ladies know how to rock! Matsuri’s riffs are fantastic coupled with Yukina’s voice!! Great reaction!!
Welcome to _Harajuku-core!_ ❄🌸 Hanabie (Ha-na-be-eh) refer to their particular style as *Harajukucore,* named after the Harajuku district, that inspires their look and music. Harajuku is famous for its fashion, shops, music, and art scene. *Harajukucore* is an energetic mix of metal, electronic, rock, punk, rap, pop, etc. They will even incorporate traditional Japanese instruments into their songs, as well. The members are Matsuri - guitar, vocals, compositions. Yukina - growls/clean vocals. Hettsu - bass, backing vocals. Chika - drums and newest member. Here's a few song recommendations for you - 'Be the GAL - early summer ver.', 'NEET GAME', 'Envy', 'Reiwa Dating Apps Generation', 'Tousou' (run away). Thanks for checking out this amazing band!
Here's some more, you'll thank me later. ENJOY! Japan: Nemophila - Rise Saiseiga - Jumble Anthem - Stranger Hanabie - "Tales of Villain" Lovebites - "The Apocalypse" or "Hammer or Wrath" The Kanmuri - Nandeiutanya Undead Corporation - Blaze Coldrain - Vengeance TRiDENT - Cry out Bridear - Thread the Light Lonesome_Blue - Hide and Seek Seikima ii - Fire after Fire Gacharic Spin - Frustration Unlucky Morpheus - Top of the "M" or Black Pentagram Aldious - Dominator Ningen Isu - Mujou No Scat Saki - Lovers Australia: Parkway Drive - Ground Zero
Finally, you found these ladies. This song has some of the sickest metal I have heard for a pretty long time. They're pronounced as "Ha(h)-na(h)-bi-e(h)" by the way, which has a totally different meaning from Hanabi. (Yes, that extra "e" at the end definitely makes a huge difference). Anyway, I'm sure many other comments say the same thing too. You are so going to love this band.
Love this band. First time Yukina Stank Face is common. Nothing to be concerned About. Older song by them recommendation: "LCG." Most recent: Otaku Lovely Densetsu. P.S. it's pronounced "Ha-na bee-A"
Just saw them (for the third time) and will see them, Babymetal, Lovebites in Europe in June. Look forward to it as have seen Japanese bands outside Japan in the US and Asia but not in Europe (other than at the Montreux Jazz Festival).
@@sharshimizu6830 Hey S. Well you would know about Aftershock. But I also saw Band-Maid after Aftershock in SF and LA (wish Nemo had been with them but have seen Nemo plenty). Few years before that saw Babymetal at the LA Forum. Actually when I lived in Cali saw quite a few, ranging from Hiromi Uehara to Hikaru Utada to Ska Paradise to L'Arc en Ciel (at MSG). Heck, I'll e-mail you a list.
Whenever TH-cam indicates a new reaction from NittPicc to any band I like, I'm in for the ride! I'm probably not the first one to suggest it, but if you continue listening to Hanabie, "Pardon Me, I Have To Go Now" is a great one to go for next.
They are coming to the states in May! You should really go if you get that chanse. They are intense on stage! The all female japanese punkband OTOBOKE BEAVER is touring the states at the moment! If You think this was intense You really should check out the Visual Kei band JILUKA and the song VENOM That song is something to analyze!
Hanabie is absolute 🔥. Yukina (vo) Matsuri (gt) Hettsu (ba) and newest member Chika (dr) . This song was recorded with previous drummer Sae. These girls are quite young ... the band is young. They were probably the biggest independent band in Japan (and produced their own music and videos) until just a few months ago when they signed a deal with Sony. Matsuri does most of the writing. This song is actually about sugar addiction ... BE the strawberry :p . Hettsu puts together most of the girls outfits. Your facial expression at the drop was priceless ... worth the wait :) .
Hanabie. are fire! They only have bangers so you could pick any song out of a hat, They are the hardest all female band out there right now. They are going to be going on a Canada/NA tour in May and a EU tour in June/July
Hanabie. started as a Maximum the Hormone cover band in high-school, Band-Maid's Akane cited MtH's drummer Nao as an inspiration as did Nemophila's Tamu, Nemophila have several MtH covers on their channel, Ado's 'Backlight' had MtH's Ue-chan on bass.
Definitely - you need more Hanabie. I see that you already have got hints on how to pronounce it. Here is my preferred list of songs * We love sweets * Neet game * Odo (cover of an Ado song) * Be that gal * Pardon me, I have to go now * OTAKU Lovely Densetsu Personally I would stay with music videos and then switch to live when you are a fan. They are so good at making music videos, both sound and cinematography. And the live ones are so different quality.
I love your reactions. Thank you for reacting to my absolute favorite bands NEMOPHILA, HANABIE, and BAND-MAID. I've seen these bands live and they are amazing.
Great reaction! And I am so happy that you made it to Hanabie so soon. Welcome to the somewhat eclectic and chaotic world of Harajukucore. Enjoy the journey!! These ladies never dissapoint. Thank you for the reaction. 🔥💎
Hanabi_E, the final E is pronounced like in German Ernst, French traversER, no direct equivalent in English, similar to Ernest. The started as a cover band of "Maximum the Hormons", watch the song "Yoshu Fukushu". Spoiler: Nothing for the timid or shy" 😇😍

Welcome to the awesome Harajukucore chaos of Hanabie (Hah Nah Be Eh). Yukina - growls Matsuri - guitar and clean vocals Hettsu (Hetts) - bass And I think this had Sae on drums who has since departed the band to be replaced by Chika. You're gonna love this band. Got to see them live here in Atlanta last summer and it was AMAZEBALLS. Blew me away. Yukina is a 4'11" POWERHOUSE and the rest of them are just as ferocious. I would recommend Pardon Me I have to Go Now for the next song.
Band Maid remains my musical heart, but damn do I love Hanabie. Just batshit fun start to finish. I really enjoy some of their “newer” songs like Tousou and Be the Gal
Great first time reaction! First of all, the English lyrics are right in the description. They are very interesting, lol. I have been a fan since May 2022. I saw them live last year in Orlando and then flew to Denver to see them with my son. Here are the members of Hanabie: Yukina - Growling Vocals, Matsuri - Guitar and Clean Vocals, Hettsu - Bass and Chika - Drums. The drummer in this one is Sae, also very good. She is now the drummer for Code Of Zero X. Chika made her debut in Tousou and was able to do the world tour last year. Chika is a great drummer. After this video, they did NEET GAME. And after that followed three videos in a row, which are referred to as the "Bad boss trilogy". It's a little harder to find the bad boss in the third one, but he's there. "This is... I don't want to piss off people in the comments" what were you gonna say, "Nu-metal"? 🤣 Yes, Hanabie definitely has Nu-metal elements to their music, as does their main inspiration Maximum the Hormone, but also have many other genres they incorporate into their music. It's a defining characteristic of J-rock/metal. The Japanese love to genre blend/swap. 😊
So, Hanabie started out as a Maximum the Hormone cover band (notably, MtH’s drummer, Nao-chan, was an inspiration for Akane from Band-Maid and Murata Tamu from Nemophila; she showed it was possible for girl drummers to drum hard, loud, and fast). If you’re gonna do Maximum the Hormone, you should probably start with “Yoshu Fukushu”
Hanabie (Ha-Na-Be-Eh) got their start in high school as a MAXIMUM THE HORMONE cover band (they are VERY influential in Japan) MTH uses multiple time, key and genre changes in the same song. The guitarist, Matsuri, usually sings the chorus in their songs. The bassist, Hettsu, is usually the backup singer for Yukina, who is the main singer and growls. Hanabie released a single called, OTAKU Lovely Densetsu that is AMAZING! Check it out. I'll let you know HOW influential MTH is. The drummer for Band Maid, Akane Hirose, did not know girls were allowed to play rock drums until she saw Nao from MTH playing. Check out their song, Yoshu Fukushu. Btw, Nao sings as well.
In the spirit of the video, what is your favorite candy? 🍭
I'm an ice cream guy. Anything peanut butter and chocolate.

@@TheCyberMantis Hey CM thanks. Bands should wish for a fan like you!
These girls are amazing
If you havent figured it out already Japan is Loaded with tons of highly talented and highly interesting art. Their Music scene is all inclusive and yields some of the most diverse and Energetic artists you may ever discover. Performance and Music extraordinaire.
I've said it before and I'm gonna say it again. This is THE BEST sub 3 minute song of all time.
You have a great laugh and facial expressions. I always enjoy your reactions ❤
I saw them live back in October. They put on an amazing live show! Thanks for reacting to them!
so great to see you discovering all these amazing bands. stick with hanabie, it´s worth it. they started as a maximum the hormone cover band. hanabie is such a good band. so much energy and talent. together with lovebites and nemophila my favourite band.
Loved your breakdown for the song, you obviously loved it. Try Pardon me I have to go now, any song is cool but I think you would also love their use of video effects for that song as well as the tune itself.
Thanks for making me laugh! 😅 you really have a contagious laugh....
Hanabie struck myself totally from the start. I looked for CDs instantly...
Next song: I propose "Pardon Me I have to go now"
bassist is Hettsu
@@savitrisdisciple of course! hasty lapsus 👍
Hi NittPicc i'm so glad you found HANABIE. They are one of the funnest metal bands around at the moment (Hint: the drummer changed. It's Chika know and they are better than ever)
Woooo! Nice to have you with Hanabie., thanks for the reaction, really enjoyed it
Your reactions are always fun because of how genuinely into it you get, plus the underlying music theory knowledge and ear.
Other Hanabie songs
- Be The Gal
- L.C.G
- Pardon Me I Have To Go Now
- Otaku Lovely Legend
- NEET GAME
- TOUSOU
Some more Nemophila would be great, and Lovebites!
A reaction to Broken By The Scream would be fun :) The song Rising Sun would be an amusing one to see your reaction to!
HANABIE = BEAUTY
Chika is their drummer now, but, I believe it was Sae in this video.
OMG! You gave the best reaction! I loved it! 🥰 🥰🥰🥰
Overstimulating the senses is pretty much their mission statement.
I hope you do more reactions to their other music videos.
Just goes to show...you're never too old
Live, that contrast is even more pronounced. These girls are really talented. Good job!
It's not Hanabi, it's Hanabie, you have to pronounce the E at the end. Like in the name of the flute, shinobue, just like that.
YESSSSSSSSS I thought it'd just be a matter of time before ye 'olde Hanabie showed up! Wonderful!
You need to wear your strawberry hat when you react to Hanabie next ;) hehe
(MTH is another band you should check out)
React to stmlt - tsuikyu. Another Japanese female metal band.
Hanabi - eh
Hehe its sweet af yet so deadly😊
1:00 slaps real fkn hard ans I get to see them live soon
They are great live. I saw them last October and will see them again in May.
Hanabie (pronounced HAHN-a-bi-ǝ)
This is what you get when Babymetal and Maximum the Hormone have a love child. Members:
Vocalist (Harsh, rap)- Yukina
Guitarist and Clean vocals - Matsuri
Bassist and backing vocals - Hettsu
Drums - Chika (replaced Sae in 2023)
(Their producer, Gaku Taura, is also the drummer for Crystal Lake. He sat in on drums for Hanabie when they were between full-time drummers.)
They have aleady put out two albums and toured Europe and North America.

Pretty much everything about Hanabie is great. My favourite aspect is the way many if their songs focus on important topics *very* rarely mentioned in any genre of music. Like sugar addiction. Or how dating apps affect romance. Or periods.
Please react to the Wagakki band, which also includes a shakuhachi player, a traditional Japanese flute.

Subbed!
I like reaction
Hanabie happens to be one of the most energetic shows I’ve ever seen!! These ladies know how to rock! Matsuri’s riffs are fantastic coupled with Yukina’s voice!! Great reaction!!
Welcome to _Harajuku-core!_ ❄🌸
Hanabie (Ha-na-be-eh) refer to their particular style as *Harajukucore,* named after the Harajuku district, that inspires their look and music.

Yukina burns off a dozen donuts worth of calories in one show. The live shows are insane high energy. I hope they have a show near me again this year.
Your laugh is contagious! Love it! Hanabie is so great, you're really going to enjoy their other videos, the girls are brilliant, funny, and bad@ss!!!
LOL, I threw this video up on the TV. Muted sound and told my wife just look at her expressions while she reacts. My wife cracked up 😂.
Love this band. First time Yukina Stank Face is common. Nothing to be concerned About. Older song by them recommendation: "LCG." Most recent: Otaku Lovely Densetsu. P.S. it's pronounced "Ha-na bee-A"
I've seen them live in Japan and Los Angeles and have tickets for them in Europe this June. They are a blast live.
Just saw them (for the third time) and will see them, Babymetal, Lovebites in Europe in June. Look forward to it as have seen Japanese bands outside Japan in the US and Asia but not in Europe (other than at the Montreux Jazz Festival).

All their songs are like this.
GREAT reaction. Your energy matched the energy level in this song. LOVED IT. 🤘🏼🎸🤪🥁🔥🎤🤘🏼
Hanabie.
I was hoping this was gonna happen
Hanabi.. a.😊
If only I had paid more attention during flute lessons at school...
Lol! As a flutist, I encourage you that it’s never too late. But I also encourage you to play something much cooler! 😅
Definitely - you need more Hanabie.
I see that you already have got hints on how to pronounce it.
Here is my preferred list of songs
* We love sweets
* Neet game
* Odo (cover of an Ado song)
* Be that gal
* Pardon me, I have to go now
* OTAKU Lovely Densetsu
Personally I would stay with music videos and then switch to live when you are a fan.
Hanabie is a fantastic band !
I love this song.
Cute ... brutal ... cute ... brutal ... cute ... brutal.
Well that was fun!😊
Hanabi_E, the final E is pronounced like in German Ernst, French traversER, no direct equivalent in English, similar to Ernest. The started as a cover band of "Maximum the Hormons", watch the song "Yoshu Fukushu". Spoiler: Nothing for the timid or shy" 😇😍
I said it a couple of days ago on another reaction to Hanabie - the cutest growls in the world! :)

Welcome to the awesome Harajukucore chaos of Hanabie (Hah Nah Be Eh).
Yukina - growls
Matsuri - guitar and clean vocals
Hettsu (Hetts) - bass
And I think this had Sae on drums who has since departed the band to be replaced by Chika.
A 4'10" vocal juggernaut. Yukina wears XL shirts like they are dresses. The entire band puts on a monster show.
Hanabie are great! Going to see them in May in Toronto...cant wait!!
Oh yay, we've reached the Hanabie stage.
Plenty of manic laughs to be had.
