Congratulations 👏🙂 What a special piece of art and history that is actually very practical! I don't have one, but I believe there are special stove thermometers that are designed to hang by a magnet, etc and measure the ambient oven temperature that you would find handy for baking.

Yes there are thermometers like that! I used to have to use one in the oven of our first apartment, which was electric, but not in very good shape 😂.
