    spray can generally goes on thicker than an airbrush. comparing apples and oranges.

      They both serve the same function so it's really not.

    HA, I've been watching your channel all the time lately. I was just searching for a review of the Vallejo varnish and I clicked this not even realizing it was Eons of Battle. Your production value has gone up quite a bit since this video was made.

    Short, helpful, and now I know which varnish to purchase. Nice vid.

    A true comparison would be to use the the Testors Dullcote Lacquer Liquid and spray it through the airbrush. It is better than their spray version.

    Hi, thanks for the perfect timing of this vid. Would you mind telling me what needle size and PSI you used to apply the vallejo varnish? Thanks!

    This was kind of pointless as a comparison of the actual products, since the differences you note have much more to do with the application techniques. It's really a comparison of airbrush vs. spray can.

    I like being able to use my airbrush because of the amount of control I have. But the Vallejo looks a bit more shiny. Maybe it was just the video?

    Hello. I've bought a tube of Vallejo Matt Varnish, and I didn't notice that in on the back it suggests using it in an airbrush. I don't own one, and now my question is if it's possible to apply this with a brush. Perhaps it needs to be thinned in some way. I am painting noob, any advice is much appriciated. Thanks in advance.

      I might be a bit late but I'm an airbrushed and anything that goes in an airbrush can be used with a brush. Doesn't need thinner (usually) but you may want to do a few coats and be careful to get an even spread of application

    This comparison is absolutely pointless. You should compare airbrush varnish vs another airbrush varnish... its like comparing... let´s say.... an AK-47 against a Flamethrower... " eerrrr... yes... uhh.... the ak-47 was amazing, all the brains of the victim on the wall... eerrrr... but the flamethrower was cool too... errrr... check out those shiny white teeth on the roasted dude.... " errrr,,,

    Did you use it on more than one model already? With the normal vallejo primer I have the problem that it dries kinda fast in the airbrush, I guess with varnish this is even worse.

      You can use a few drops of thinner or water, or straight out if the bottle at a decent psi 15-20 or so. Just put a good bit of distance from the brush and model.

      the vallejo is a polyurethane so it should work fine. Best thing to do to put yourself at ease is buy some and spray it on a piece of cut away sprue.

    • @patmacrotch5611
      @patmacrotch5611 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can but varnishes aren't really that great when brushed out. You'd have better luck with a spray can. But don't put it as close to the moe as he did in the video.

      +Pat MaCrotch so again brushing vallejo satin or matt varnish is ill-advised against a spray can. don't really want to get a gun

    Can you apply with a brush? How did it perform in relation to gloss? I know it says Matte but is it really a Matte finish?
