- I love to make videos, but I wanted to share my experience with feeling inadequate from time to time. today we'll talk about my experience with TH-cam and Imposter Syndrome, and I'd love to hear your thoughts!

TH-cam can be funky sometimes. In my experience, I feel TH-cam isn't based off quality or genuinely good content; It's the algorithm that withholds your view counts. One viral video can make or break your channel; it's depending on what you decide to do with it. I enjoy making content but I feel the most popular people aren't the ones who deserve it: it's the ones who tend to care about the algorithm more than their content. To stand out in the eyes of people and TH-cam, you need to have a balance of the two. That's the hardest part.
I usually end up over-complicating things, asking questions to myself 24/7. Why, how, and when definitely come up in my mind time to time. And I tend to be hard on myself, I've had anxiety since second grade and it's still growing on me. It's a back-and-forth between my mind and my heart. Being able to look at something and say, "Wow. I made somebody happy today" is all the motivation I need to keep going. I might not always be the best but your videos help for sure.
Fox, what you said about "the ones who tend to care about the algorithm more" really hit home. The cool thing is that this platform is also about art and community :) I'm glad We've crossed paths man.

I'll get super real with you here, I've been having such an issue lately with TH-cam. I finally hit the amazing milestone of being able to monetize my channel, and now my videos are performing at 20% from when I wasn't monetized.
It was such an amazing high of reaching that milestone, to such a massive fall. I'm at the point of "what do I do? What am I doing wrong? I don't have the time to spend on trying something new only for it to fail."
The thing keeping me going are the folks, like yourself, that are just genuinely having fun with the things I post. If I can make a video that only performs at 20% from the last few months, but those people are genuinely enjoying the video, that's worth it, right? ❤

Of course dude!! I have plenty to say, and it's totally about the folks. I'm gonna send ya a DM when i get a chance, but i'll say it this way for now. I've been there! On my main channel my first ever hardcore got me 37k views and got me monetized. In the two years since, ithe most views i've gotten on a let's play video is 2.5k, which was 2 years ago! Much more to say, but I was wondering how you were feeling after the most recent upload's numbers.

I think this is one of the hardest aspects of TH-cam, having confidence in what you create. It's easy to over edit you're personality out and try to be like other people but in the end I like to believe it's each persons strengths and weaknesses that make them stand out in the crowd.
