@@redlaserfox3988, yeah, and even though it's so heavily censored and people should be jumping ship, they're reluctant to do so, which means the main draw remains on this platform. Ugh (smacks head). ☮️
All the things I’ll mention below are the changes instagram has made that I think are worst. Instagram many years ago was fun in the sense that if you followed an artist you’d see their posts in order, not random posts from accounts you’re not even following in your timeline. Before Fakebook came along and ruined it, emerging artists on the platform actually had a good chance of being recognized as an artist. The Instagram art community was less copy cat and more fun. In fact Instagram only seems to promote art accounts that look exactly the same. One really has to search to find unique artists. Why would I do that when I could just go on deviantART ? Before the explore page would’ve been filled with interesting posts, now it’s mostly junk and TikTok-like videos. Oh and the ads and the encouraging of spending money is annoying. What’s the point of a platform that enables people to follow other accounts but can barely let through the same accounts you’re interested in seeing ? It’s like one big glossy mess.
Yeah Instagram was so fun back in 2013 before they added the 15 sec videos. I was still in high school at the time in 9th grade and used to have an old Instagram account that I created in 2012 to which I deleted 3 years ago (I'm now 23). I became somewhat lonely after being nearly 3 years social media free and then created new Instagram + Twitter accounts to only follow celebrities and Hollywood actors that I like but then I fell back in the same hole and found myself mindlessly scrolling on Twitter and Instagram for hours on end, focusing so much on other people's lives. I was sick of it and made the decision in January to delete all of my social media for the last time. Now the only "social media" platform that I use is TH-cam. It gets to you sometimes that you're isolated from society and the loneliness and it sucks and I learned that you have to fill out your time by doing other things. Read books, find new hobbies, focus on your studies, get in shape and start working out. If you weigh in the pros of quitting SM, it's better to focus on yourself and your life instead of other people's lives. All the best.
social media is a distraction from real life. the purpose of getting away from it is to deal with your life and work through your problems and make a prosperous life for yourself. social media is a distraction just like any substance is or many other bad habits people have. the root of the problem is these distractions and social media is just a branch in the tree.
I deleted all of my social media 3 months ago! No more Snapchat, no more Instagram, no more Reddit. I don’t regret anything, it was literally the next decision I’ve ever made✨
Yeah. When we quit those apps let’s try not to use TH-cam as an excuse. Sure okay anxiety and depression and FOMO is all gone, now you just need to get laziness out of your life and TH-cam loves that, hehehe. Ay that’s good though I’m with you on that and same with everyone else here. Screw social media except TH-cam.
@Divine the point is that you can't say that you've left all social media whilst still being on TH-cam because TH-cam is social media. So if you still use TH-cam then sorry to break it to you but that makes it so that you're still one social media, hence why I never say "I don't use social media" as that's a lie, I use and love TH-cam, which is a social media.
I deleted my social media 2 months ago. No regrets at all. I was sick of the life of fake people faking their lives or bragging about shit that’s not even genuine nor real. Also it steals a lot of free time and it prevents you from being productive.
@@AEAE- TH-cam is justified because here you can learn about tons of things, there are tutorials that enable you to learn about stuff on a professional level. I mainly use it to learn about IT stuff and there is also the possibility to monetize your channel and there are tons of methods to earn money in this platform. Considering TH-cam a mere social media is a very short sighted way to see things
@@AEAE- TH-cam is different compare to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat. There is a big difference At least on TH-cam you can learn things in life.
Since deleting social media a few years ago I've had more FUN. Instead of going places and doing things in order to post about them I did things for myself, because I truly enjoyed them. I defined for myself what it means to have a good life instead of constantly feeling jealous of people who seemed to have more friends than me and who went to Florida every few months.
Reading news from all over the world, reading comments about those news, watching other people's lives and comparing it's very stressful, while doing nothing with my time than scrolling and scrolling...
Hey, hope u r doing well. Can you please share with me what u do in ur free time insteadand how your experience has been for the last year without social media? Thanks
I’m a college student and it’s actually sad how many kids are mindlessly addicted to social media and their status. Recently I decided to take a 2 month break from college. I was always so against social media and it hurts me of the negative things it has done to my generation. I recently decided to literally just delete Instagram and Snapchat off of my phone. All I can say is wow. I’ve been struggling hard with honestly finding a purpose in this world. I’ve always felt like an outcast in a lost generation. Now that I’ve separated myself from all the bullshit, all I do is work, hang out with my close buddies, and enjoy every second I have on this earth with nature. It’s a beautiful world we live in don’t compare yourself to someone you aren’t even close with when you can have a meaningful connection with someone who fills your heart with laughter and joy. Amazing video I can tell this video was inspired by the social dilemma as I am too. Great work
Last year I deleted all of my social media accounts; I sometimes just use Reddit to ask them to fix my problems on my Linux machine. Edit: I'll try to edit this comment every year.
niceeee! I'm 16 and I wanna do that too. I think I was happier without social media, and I was doing better in school when I didn't have it so yeah, but im scared about missing out as well...
I remember a few years ago I wanted to delete my accounts and people told me only criminals DO NOT have social media. They would say I have something to hide lol... NOW I TOTALLY GET IT. More people are walking away to be real.
i lost my phone for a couple months, and at first i would reach for it just to not be able to grab it, but eventually those moments where you look at the ceiling bored out of your mind became less daunting, there is a beauty in truly having nothing to distract you from you and your thoughts, i relapsed when i got a phone again, but i want to make the change permanent
I deleted Facebook 3 weeks ago and the other day I realized how I had completely forgotten about it when a big news event happened in my city and I learned of it over a week later. But that was part of the beauty of leaving.
This. The level of information people process today is "too damn high." We know about things that happen in other countries, there's always some made up high-stake thing that doesn't really effect us. If we can't hear on it the local radio, how important can it be?
@@SpikeAnon that is how I feel. I can't humanely absorb such a torrent of information in one day. I don't want to know what 1000 FB randoms, old colleagues, arbitrary bar tenders etc. are doing everyday. What a misuse of grey matter. I'd rather invest that into honing skill, such as building a tree house, writing an opera, aquiring a new language
I loved it too. "whatttt you didn't know anything about this???" no, I proudly don't. Please tell me all about it so we can have a real human conversation. All the rest is brain junk.
I'm with you there. I still have FB and IG but not on my phone so I have not checked them in over a month. I'm realizing something bizarre...I'm not seeing all the little details about people's lives anymore and not learning about news as quickly. It's peaceful and takes me back to normality. Oh and I'm also more productive.
Dude, me and my brothers had this same conversation, you really nailed almost everything we talked about. Great video! One other point that is worth mentioning is that deleting your Facebook also frees the tension so other people can delete their Facebook. After all, the reason why most people don’t have the guts, is because of just a couple true friends. Honestly the only reason why I kept Facebook so long is because of Facebook marketplace, I thought it was stupid at first, but everyone started using it, and I would get amazing deals. I really don’t like that, I don’t like how much power and influence social media companies have. (And don’t even get me started with their criminal double standards... or do! I love discussing this stuff!)
i got rid of social media nearly 6 years ago now....and all i can say is it felt like a cancer was removed from my body. I then....got rid of my smart phone and adopted a "dumb phone" and now....i actually take part in the WORLD and not a screen....life has been better. ALOT better
Best decision ever! And YES I still use TH-cam. I can take full advantage of watching TH-cam as a guest or I can maintain an account without having ANY "friends" or spending time scrolling through a timeline or wall. TH-cam is much different than the Facebook, Instagram, Twitter types. Great video Techlore!
I've deleted like 3 personal and non-personal facebook accounts more than 3 years ago. Looking back on it, it surprises me how stupid it was to take care of having a "perfect" profile, profile pic, perfect cover photo and all that nonsense to show to the world. I was very concerned about the opinions of "friends"... Anyway, I'm better off without all that crap.
I was at the mall the other day and a girl that works there asked me if I just came from the gym inside the mall and I said yes. She says she has a membership and never goes because she doesn’t know any routines. I told her I learned a lot of exercises from Instagram and she told me she doesn’t have social media. She looked like she was young like 20 and she was like super happy. Very bubbly and cheerful and it got me thinking that because she wasn’t on social media, that it didn’t ruin her happiness. I feel like social media can negatively impact you.
Here's my two cents: 1. I don't like to post everything I'm doing and brag about how great my life is. I still treasure the special moments in life. 2. When discussing with others and posting things online, I don't hide how I'm feeling. I don't see the benefit of painting a perfect picture of my life online. Everyone I interact with and follow online don't hide how they feel either. 3. I believe I have all ad personalization turned off, and I don't regularly purchase things online. 4. I don't side with big companies. 5. The only personal info I expose online is through the use of Google programs like drive, docs, calendar, and most notably Google photos. As I said earlier, I have personalized ads turned off, so I don't see what else they can use my personal info for. 6. I don't have many connections or relationships with strangers online, and when I do, it's only temporary. Social media (and the internet as a whole) has mostly improved my life. It's gotten me through tough times, and the people I follow have done nothing but inspire me to pursue my interests. It's made me step out of my comfort zone on multiple occasions and has broadened my knowledge twofold. So therefore I believe social media is a really good thing, when used properly of course. Self-regulation is VERY important. Guess I grew up on the right side of social media as well.
Just think, when you’re on your death bed, are you really going to look back and think “I’m so glad i spent half of my life scrolling through social media”. You won’t. You’ll regret missing out on real life.
I'm off it. It's depressing me bad. It's a constant reinforcement of fear, comparison, jealousy and overall it's addictive. Fights and drama. Most of all it kills creativity and the ability to truly improve your state of being. It creates anxiety. Mind control no more. Lack nothing!
Omg it’s been like 7 months since I quit social media and I learned so much about what a real relationship is and what it takes. I mean it was hard seeing who are your real friends and who really cares about you, but the lesson was worth it. A real eye opening experience.
Barely anyone. They do care, on social media, but once you delete it, almost none cares. Before I deleted social media I posted that if anyone wanted to stay in touch they can have my number. No one asked for it.
Deleted it and told tell no one i deleted my social media and i had friends on there but not my true friends. People will come and go out of your life. Focus on yourself and you will be happier without social media and all the fakes out there just posting away their life and not being private at all with their selfs.
My facebook got hacked and taken away from me about 2 months into lockdown. I took it as a sign and have never looked back. It was the wake-up call I needed to get off :) As someone else said... truly peaceful. x
Had twitter, facebook, instagram, reddit, Discord, linkedin. Deleted it all years ago. Twitter I even helped to translate it back then to portuguese when it was only available in english. Now it's just a toxic wasteland. I don't feel secure and tbh it's not fun anymore and I'm not young anymore to handle all the useless drama social media have. And I feel great now, no stress, no anxiety, no drama. Walk sometimes with my dog, have part of the day to play some games, get stuff done.
I have a linkedin but I never use it and tbh, due to my young 20s, it probably isn't a good resume for me. I'm just 23, but I'm a bit of a late bloomer.
I recently deleted Instagram for the same reasons I was hesitant to get it in the first place. No regrets. I always left Instagram in a worse mood than when I entered the app. Though it came out several years ago, South Park's Facebook episode has aged like fine wine in showing the absurdity of social media culture. I recommend you give it a watch.
Deactivated IG end of 2019 going into 2020. Right when Kobe passed, covid happened and all things bad of 2020. My dad passed end of 2020. I stayed around for about 3 months but let it go beginning of March. I feel so free. My mood has increased. My axiety has lessened. I’m more focused and aware. I stay off my phone more and have more meaningful conversations. I appreciate people more because I’m able to have more meaningful conversations instead of assuming how people are based off a few photos. I doubt I’ll ever get back on. Even the greatest moments of my life. I realize now that everything and everyone I need is right in front of me. 🙌🏿
I quit social media 8 months ago. I do still have messenger to keep in contact with my mates. I had like 900 friends on Facebook and only a couple sent me a message and asked me if I was ok after I deleted Facebook. It just goes to show majority of your friends on Facebook wouldn’t even notice you deleted your account. Next time when you’re out just have a look around... people rather be on their phones then have a conversation with a stranger, it’s quiet sad.
I just deleted My Instagram & My Twitter, I've seen so much Toxic & Hateful things on there that's ruined either My Day or My Week, I've never felt this stressed before in my life, anyways I hope I start feeling better. Great Video btw!
Reading news from all over the world, reading comments about those news, seeing terrible content and comments that ruin my day then switch to watching other people's lives and comparing to mine, it's very stressful, while doing nothing with my time than scrolling and scrolling...
I deleted my social media account for a long time ago. It was easy instagram I guess its 4 years ago Facebook more than a year ago. Never going back again. I read books a lots of books I have become way more positive. I can focus on my projects for a way longer time.
i’m alone, my friends are my parents and God, i don't have social networks for 1 year and in the first 3 months and how do you detox from a drug ... but then you feel a lightness and purity in your thoughts and ideas, my creativity has developed and still I managed to socialize better ... thankful for the Netflix documentary ... that opened my eyes
after leaving socmedia, i found that its pretty annoying trying to talk to someone with their eyes glue to there phone and not paying any attention to you. having to repeat things or questions to someone not listening.
I deleted all my social media accounts in 2018. But at that time, my main reasons for deletion were distraction and time waste. But now I think it was right decision for privacy as well. By the way, great video.
I was lucky to be an high school before social media got big, it's pull wasn't as strong as it is now. Back then there was nothing about social media I liked, that stance still hasn't changed. In my introverted pov it's basically a big room where people are doing whatever they can to get attention, taking it to bigger and bigger extremes, often to the detriment of their own well being. Everyone is both the carnival barker and freakshow. I had better things to do than exploit myself to the world for cheap validation. I had a family to tend, pets to love, hobbies to pursue, and nature to explore. I keep a journal, dabble in art, take photos of things I do or places/people I love. You'll never see it though. My private life is just that... Private. Sounds weird these days but before I was born that was the norm. I like the intimate nature of the life my folks lived and now at 24, it's what I'm emulating now.
I am an active social media user. I hope to one day get rid of all of these apps eventually, I've already changed my account usernames to now not include my real name, and am trying to limit the amount of time spent posting or browsing. I get anxiety from life quite alot, and I guarantee social media saturation is majority of the blame for me. Thank you for this important message!
Do it man it’s worth it. I just did it a couple days ago. And anything you try first in life can be difficult but after awhile you’ll see how easy it gets and how your life changes for the better!
I’m inspired by all these ppl that have the wisdom and courage to unplug. I thought I was a lone wolf. Salute to you all and enjoy having REAL Human Experiences again
Great video! Word of caution - deleting your social media is sometimes not enough. You STILL live on the social media and you are still subject to privacy intrusion and data mining if your friends and family still share things about you on their own social media such as posts that mention you and some information about you, photos that you appear in etc. Of course, with the difference that it's not you that is actively participating in it. Privacy is not one way interaction. It's a collective effort. There are people that you trust your privacy with so you need to remind them to respect it.
2 years without social media with the exception of LinkedIn (which I hardly check maybe once a month) and TH-cam (which I consume a lot of on a daily basis). I’ve lost a lot of connections I thought were genuine and found that the few friends that I have add more value to my life. I would say that the older you get the realization that social media is no longer necessary becomes apparent because when you are younger you want to be able to make online connections and be able to “fit in”
I dumped and eliminated every social media platform that had invaded my life. I disconnected from every money draining consumer driven expectation ...for internet use, phones, television and movies, and anything else that sucked the money out of my life and the life out of my existence. What's really sad is to watch my children, more especially my grandchildren, and even some friends who have the phone virtually connected to their hand 24/7 and their face glued to the screen even when you're trying to talk to them, or have a dinner together, or just connect in some way. It's really sad it's sad for me and I don't think they realize that it's going to be really sad for them.
I deleted My fb,Insta in 3 yrs ago Now To be free I used To be in peace no tension ,No fake people , No hurtful, Peace only ,life is short so i am caring my families more than fake media 🙂👑
I agree 100% with your comment about it being freeing. I have deleted my social media accounts and have not regretted the time I don`t spend on it any longer. The friends I still have are ones who genuinely want to be in my life. My friends and family text me photos and we talk on a regular basis still. Much respect to you for posting this video, I concur on all that you have said.
One of your very best videos; to preach privacy is good, to speak from the heart about the good life to be had without social media, even better. Cheers!
I deleted mine about 3 years ago , it's the best thing as I feel my mind is free and I feel I have a more clearer perspective , I don't miss it at all 👍
People wonder why the world looks so dull and colorless. That's because as kids, we didn't have a phone to get on and see all the negative bad shit going on in the world. The only negative thing we had to worry about was what happen in the neighborhood. Other than that, positive things influenced are mind the most because their was rarely any negative things impacting our life.
Got rid of Facebook in 2012; got tired of the spying and malicious comments. Never acquired a taste for the other platforms--no interest especially after deleting Facebook. Thanks for this. It affirms my choice.
The pandemic was super eye opening to me. It was sad to see the effort people made to keep interesting posts on Instagram during the lockdown and due to the stressful time we were going through, I kept interactions to a minimum of friends. This lead me to the realisation that WhatsApp was enough (unfortunately owned by Facebook)
I’m deleting it without telling anyone because even when you message people it takes them days to answer no one cares about anyone anymore live for yourself!
Haven't had Facebook for 3 years....Instagram is about to be deleted and I don't have any other social media like Snapchat etc. I am also about to switch to a dumbphone. The feeling I have at the moment is one of excitement and freedom and after watching this, I know I am on the right track
Life just feels more fulfilling after I left all social media two years ago. I spend more time with family now, especially my one year old nephew. Just more productive in general. It's very easy to get so caught up in everyone else's lives to the point of neglecting your own. I saw it was making me feel like people I never met were my true friends when in actuality, its superficial and superfluous. Getting off the grid puts you back into the real world full focus and honestly, I dunno why I got so caught up in Social media in the first place.
About 6 weeks into no social media whatsoever.. (Except for TH-cam and whatsapp).. I must say it feels very liberating and peaceful. I became so tired of getting caught up in useless political debates and quarrels which proved to be fruitless.. Life feels a lot more simple.. I can sit through movies without abandoning the movie for my phone etc. My interpersonal skills seem to be better.. Deleting social media was one of the best things I could have ever done for my mental health and wellbeing.. I found that until recently I always made excuses as to why I "needed" social media. Excuses like "I NEED it for my business page." Or "I NEED it so I can promote events I'm hosting" etc.. But having parted ways with social media, I've found that those needs weren't actually real. They were more of an excuse to keep social media around. I've also realized that a lot of social media was simply fulfilling my desire for attention in some way. Looking back, I can see this is a very unhealthy mindset to become trapped in. Now I can find joy and happiness in capturing the moment without feeling like I always have to stop, capture it, and share it with a bunch of people who probably don't even care to begin with...
What you said its all so true. People say that they need it for their job, they need it for keeping in contact, they need it for this and that. How did people manage to do those things without social media before? Pretty insane all the excuses we create to justify our addictions.
@@meltphace5 ironically we dont need a lot of things we are led into modern slavery to achieve, grow your own food, barter with your neighbors, shoot anyone that tries to stop you. Life could be very simple if not for a certain tribe of people.
For anyone reading this thats hesitant in doing so, just do it. I did it around a year ago and my true character was exposed and I was able to find my passion. It was almost as if I was in some sort of trance and me as a person had a filter on (unknowingly). It terrifies me to know I would still be searching for happiness if i didn't take that path.
YES influence/control has to be the biggest factor for why I recently deleted most of my social media. Using social media regularly made me feel like I was living my life in a panopticon. All of my pictures, conversations, thoughts, etc. existing on these platforms gave these companies all the information they need to effectively hypnotize me with content. I'm striving to live a life not void of new technology, but one in which I am protected from being manipulated by social media.
I have had a lot of fun with social media but it was a lot more fun back in the day . I am a health freak and part of health is mental health however I have been trying to purge the social media from my life . I think that I may actually do it . I remember back in the 1990s we didn't have social media and I didn't spend all day online. I mean I do other things . I actually play more video games than time on social media. What gets a lot of my attention is dating sites however they don't work for the average Joe. All dating sites do is give you a false sense of fulfillment in the thought that you are putting in effort to find a partner .
I’ve never had social media, except for FB for a few years in middle school. I’ve always been happier for it! Join me people into a better life!! (I’m 20)
Been staying away from social media to focus on myself and family. I feel confident about it thus far. I started feeling the pressure of keeping up knowing half of what I seen was just for public view and not reality. It's better to stay away from that kind of poison.
BOOM! Deleted my Facebook for the third and final time, been watching Techlore for quite sometime now and I love your videos and your channel, your videos and the hated ones videos have inspired me to take back my life and my privacy, I also want to do a deep scrub of all my google account permanently, once I discovered newpipe and fdroid, I was forever changed. Thanks for everything you do for us Henry 👍🍻
i deleted Social Media and now im living so better! When i had it, i cannot even concentrate on something and i wanted to share everything witm my friends. But now im free and i'm doing everything just for myself, and thats right 😌❤️
Ironically i have to thank so much of my knowledge to the TH-cam Algorythm. Without TH-cam i would be a totally diffrent human. TH-cam changed me since i am 12 years old for over 6 years now. Its a big chain of Butterfly effect.
@ 7:41 I don’t recommend (from personal experience) doing this because: #1 Nobody bothers to give you their number or E-mail address when you announce that you’re leaving. I’d rather people I know ask ME in real life for my phone number. #2 you’re drawing attention to yourself for doing so. Just disappear without a trace! Annoyingly though…sports teams and artists EXCLUSIVELY use social media for concert/exhibition announcements and updates.
@@hungryboy3597 Great question. My main goals are Spiritual, Fitness, Career, and focusing on real life and having better attention span since a lot of people struggle with it in this generation.
I deleted social media and I felt a big weight coming off of my shoulders. But I feel like the Catalyst was when I broke up with my gf and lost mine and her friends in the process. I felt alone and I felt really sad at first because these were people I did care about but I found a strange sort of peace in being alone. Not feeling Lonely and Depressed but I found this happiness in not being on social media for everything for the world to see. I felt like my life independently actually meaned something, that every moment was unique to my own experience and that gave me identity and strength to keep going in my career and future aspirations in my life. I cherish the good times and also the bad times. And those bad times weren't tainted with "Omg life sucks here numb the pain by scrolling mindlessly on social media" I felt and do still feel. Free...
I'm in my mid 20's and I have never used Instagram, Snapchat or any other social media platform except Reddit (mostly just watching) and Facebook which I stopped actively using back in 2012. I never saw the benefit of these apps, maybe hookups but that's what nightlife is for generally. I'm regularly getting hit on and it's crazy that people think I'm lying when asked about social media, a decent amount even get angry because they think I'm giving them an excuse to not be bothered. It's honestly baffling to me that most people take social media for granted and assume everybody is using it. Only thing I'm regularly using since 2009 is TH-cam, every couple years or so I switch accounts though same as Reddit.
Deleted my social media accounts when I became a Mom in 2018. I wanted to be as present as I could for my son and I didn't want to miss any of our precious time while he is young on my phone x
Ah those OG MySpace, BEBO, early TH-cam and Xanga days. . .Back when social media was more fun and less detrimental to your mental health! P.S: Back then it was a luxury to use the Net/World Wide Web/social media, nowadays it's seems so ingrained in people's lives. . .In those good days, you got online when you wanted to and when you were done you'd go play outside (without having to have a computer in your hand 24/7, 365).
Here's my cycle. I get down, depressed, irritable, impatient and waste too much time. I quit phones and social media coldy turkey, results set in less than a week. Brighter mood, slower paced life, random things become more interesting. "I must be cured"... Goes back to everything that messed me up in the first place...

I was still in high school at the time in 9th grade and used to have an old Instagram account that I created in 2012 to which I deleted 3 years ago (I'm now 23).
Social media gets boring once you live without it
It's always boring, but it's hard to tell during the dopamine blast.
@@SpikeAnon true!
@Zoe Navarro yes
Once you finally quit social media, You will realize how boring and unhealthy your life is!
social media is a distraction from real life. the purpose of getting away from it is to deal with your life and work through your problems and make a prosperous life for yourself. social media is a distraction just like any substance is or many other bad habits people have. the root of the problem is these distractions and social media is just a branch in the tree.
I have like 3 true friends lmao. That being said, they’re all I need.
Same here! Nothing wrong with that. Quality over quantity
Literally same
Same here 👍🏻
Same here and i love them! Fuck social shit
That’s gd coz I actually got none!
Not on social media since 2016. And truly it's peaceful.
Man, what you did is fantastic; I did the same last year, now I'm one year without social media
@@sa-k That's great!

TH-cam is social media
@@MM-ss9yd true 🤣💩💯👊
I deleted all of my social media 3 months ago! No more Snapchat, no more Instagram, no more Reddit. I don’t regret anything, it was literally the next decision I’ve ever made✨
But not TH-cam...
The only reason I can't delete TH-cam is because it comes with my phone.
@@metalrockstarizer89 agreed other than TH-cam and WhatsApp (I want to quit WhatsApp but I pretty much well can't) screw social media lol.
I prefer this natural scenery over the indoor background.
I deleted my social media 2 months ago. No regrets at all.
I was sick of the life of fake people faking their lives or bragging about shit that’s not even genuine nor real. Also it steals a lot of free time and it prevents you from being productive.
And here you are! You still have social media acc's
I swear that’s why I do not use it people is so fake on social media.
@@AEAE- TH-cam is different compare to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat. There is a big difference At least on TH-cam you can learn things in life.
How are you going with things now?
I got rid of Facebook 3 years ago. Don’t miss it at all
same, degoogled my phone with iodé, use newPipe, happier than ever
Even messenger?
i got rid of FB in 2013 same here dont miss it even a little bit........cheers
I deactivated my profile years ago now I get text messages about things posted by other people on Facebook. TH-cam is already bad enough.
I don’t use Twitter besides sonic onset adventure news or skits
No social media = peace! ⛩🌈

Great work
Deleted facebook, snapchat and instagram on 31st July 2020 and it actually changed my mood, productivity and mindset ☺️
That’s dope I’m right behind you !
Good for you 👍
sameeee. peace of mind
The 'Tube has its place however
I plan to abandon social media
Last year I deleted all of my social media accounts; I sometimes just use Reddit to ask them to fix my problems on my Linux machine.
Edit: I'll try to edit this comment every year.
Lol edit
You already edited in 6 days or less?
Reddit is gold
Don't come back to edit, go and live your life. the Internet doesn't care about your updates. It's all wasted time. Enjoy yourself
@@meltphace5 i just can't get this into my head, even though i know it.
From now on I won't waste my breath expleaning my friends why I don't use social media I'll just send them this video.
Accurate 🤣😭🤌
You don’t need to make an announcement that you’re leaving . People don’t really care!
Made a new years resolution, delete all social media. I'm 16, and I'll tell ya, it made me a lot happier. Other people were mad, but I didn't care.
niceeee! I'm 16 and I wanna do that too. I think I was happier without social media, and I was doing better in school when I didn't have it so yeah, but im scared about missing out as well...

I deleted FB in 2014...I NEVER LOOKED BACK!!!
Haven't had a fb account for almost 10 years.
@CogitoErgoCogitoSum
Nope I didn't. BUT there wasn't much posted to begin with.
kinda strange since facebook really became popular just around that time in world :D
That’s like music to my ears
@CogitoErgoCogitoSum Could you Elaborate?
well done!
I love living without social media. I read more. I look around more. I feel less pressure. I wish all would give it a shot.
Exactly ! We can’t live in a constant state of high alert .
This. The level of information people process today is "too damn high."
We know about things that happen in other countries, there's always some made up high-stake thing that doesn't really effect us.
Yes! and I had the marketplace issue too, especially since they have such affordable baby things. But I just can't do it!
What I did was make another account to specifically get on marketplace only , no friends or anything like that
I did and don’t miss it. If u wanna contact people u can email, text, call, etc.
i got rid of social media nearly 6 years ago now....and all i can say is it felt like a cancer was removed from my body. I then....got rid of my smart phone and adopted a "dumb phone" and now....i actually take part in the WORLD and not a screen....life has been better. ALOT better
Deleting social media 2yrs ago was the best decision of my life!! I am so genuinely happy
WHAT IS BETTER social media friends or personal/family long-term friendships.
Closest thing to social media I ever used is youtube.
You find out you don’t really have that many “friends”.
Here's my two cents:
It was the wake-up call I needed to get off :) As someone else said... truly peaceful. x
Did the same
I have deleted my fb account in 2019, snapchat in 2020, just using instgram but will make sure to delete it within 2/3 months. Love from India.
I'm just 23, but I'm a bit of a late bloomer.
i only use discord to talk to friends but thats IT.
i stopped using social media a while ago and its been great for me mentally. I feel so much peace.

Reading news from all over the world, reading comments about those news, seeing terrible content and comments that ruin my day then switch to watching other people's lives and comparing to mine, it's very stressful, while doing nothing with my time than scrolling and scrolling...
@@061Hitachi Yup, I've done that on many Social Media sites (Including TH-cam) but have been learning slowly how to control myself.
I deleted my social media account for a long time ago. It was easy instagram I guess its 4 years ago Facebook more than a year ago. Never going back again. I read books a lots of books I have become way more positive. I can focus on my projects for a way longer time.
social media changes you completely. you don't how who and what you have become unless you take a break.
i’m alone, my friends are my parents and God, i don't have social networks for 1 year and in the first 3 months and how do you detox from a drug ... but then you feel a lightness and purity in your thoughts and ideas, my creativity has developed and still I managed to socialize better ... thankful for the Netflix documentary ... that opened my eyes
after leaving socmedia, i found that its pretty annoying trying to talk to someone with their eyes glue to there phone and not paying any attention to you. having to repeat things or questions to someone not listening.
I know exactly what you mean
I deleted all my social media accounts in 2018. But at that time, my main reasons for deletion were distraction and time waste. But now I think it was right decision for privacy as well. By the way, great video.
The less people you know, the less drama you’ll have to deal with!!! There for i have like 2 true friends and I’m drama free!
Said goodbye to my social media accounts at the end of 2020. I wanted to start the year free of the garbage permeating the internet today.
Never had facebook , instagram , whatsapp. Only youtube , gmail .
Deleted all my social media I feel 1000 times better physically and mentally thank god the best decision I ever made.
Cheers!
I delete WhatsApp, instagram and Facebook. All my anxiety is gone immediately. I finally feel safe and peace.
I deleted mine about 3 years ago , it's the best thing as I feel my mind is free and I feel I have a more clearer perspective , I don't miss it at all 👍
Thanks for bringing sweet moments into this brutal social media world ☺️
People wonder why the world looks so dull and colorless. That's because as kids, we didn't have a phone to get on and see all the negative bad shit going on in the world. The only negative thing we had to worry about was what happen in the neighborhood. Other than that, positive things influenced are mind the most because their was rarely any negative things impacting our life.
I am strugling with deleting it.some times i love it qnd some times i hate it.
That's the dopamine.
Try using eradicator and website blockers
Same! Right now I only deactivated my fb and trying to distract myself and get into some new hobbies
If you stop using social media, you'll get more work done in a shorter amount of time and you'll also do anything faster
You’re definitely right! That’s inspiring!!
Three years without social media and never going back.
I hate Facebook , Snapchat, Instagram,Twitter, TikTok. I hate them all I do not use any of these platforms. I deactivated my Facebook account .
Friend on fb is a misnomer. A friend is someone who can be bothered to knock on your door to ask if you want to come out and play
@ 7:41 I don’t recommend (from personal experience) doing this because:
#1 Nobody bothers to give you their number or E-mail address when you announce that you’re leaving. I’d rather people I know ask ME in real life for my phone number.
#2 you’re drawing attention to yourself for doing so. Just disappear without a trace! Annoyingly though…sports teams and artists EXCLUSIVELY use social media for concert/exhibition announcements and updates.

And those bad times weren't tainted with "Omg life sucks here numb the pain by scrolling mindlessly on social media"
I felt and do still feel. Free...
I use Language apps on my breaks at work. Amazing what doing it for almost a years does for you vs Social Media.
I miss when social media was a simple thing back then before it suddenly became this heinous beast
This is the best article I’ve read so far about deleting social media.
I take photos and print them out to put them in my DLY BOOK , for years of 2021 , 2022 and so on. This way was healthier for me
I got rid of social media a while ago soo much happier not even a joke it’s insane how sapping the social media is on happiness
Deleted Facebook yesterday and i can’t describe how light headed I’m feeling
