    Good info, nice to see you trying products out before we use them. Thanks again

      Wanted to do this for a while, seems ok but not abrasive enough for the deeper scratches. Thanks for watching

    Nice work Martin, it’s good to see good products that are available. This is one that you might use now and again, so it’s interesting to see it in action. We had an awning pole mark on an old caravan window and it never did come out but getting the ice skating type marks off is a great start. Thanks for the video, very useful 👍🏻😃 Trev

      Hi Trev, I hoped it would make more of an impact on the deeper scratches but the lighter ones seem to have faded. Will keep trying other stuff to get rid of them. Thanks for comments and watching, take care, Martin

      I'll have to get some for my lunar windows which are covered in light scratches.
      Thanks for another superb product video.

      Hi Andy & Michelle, it’s ok for minor scratches but needs something more industrial for deeper scratches. cheers, Martin

    I need to do mine Martin might give the 3M rubbing compound we used on the front a try. Remember Dan Trudgian used various abrasive papers in conjunction with a cutting compound. I used to work on exhibition cases and removing deep scratches affects the optical quality of the acrylic akin to spectacle lenses. Thanks for sharing 👍

      Hi Colin, I did think about that 3m stuff. I was going to use T-cut, I’ve used that on watch faces before. Will keep trying on the deeper scratches. cheers, Martin

    Nice video again Martin. I'm sure Dan Trudgian did a video showing how to remove deep scratches. Might be worth taking a look. Enjoy your time ;))

      Yes Dan did a vlog on removing bad scratches, Will have to have another look at it. Thanks for watching, Martin

    We're in the same boat as you Martin. I used the G3 fine cutting paste, pretty much the same as yours, and it took out the really fine scratches, the type you only really see glistening in the sunlight but, didn't have the muscle to do the one or two deeper ones. John Wicksham done a cracking video on using very fine wet 'n' dry to remove the deeper ones but I'm still plucking up the courage to try it 😂 Cheers for this one 👍 Mart & Jo.

      Hi Mart & Jo, They are annoying when you are sat there staring out the window watching the world go by!
      Will have a look at the vid, want to give it another go. Thanks for comments and watching, Martin

    Hi Martin. I tried that scratch remover and had great results. I did do a video on it some months ago. Hope it works for you 👍. Cheers Paul

    Interesting to see this mate, might have to get myself some just to keep ready for when the inevitable window scratch happens. I use the Autoglym super resin polish on my windows which does seem to work in polishing out light scratches 👍

      Hi mate, worked ok on the lighter scratches but will need something more industrial for the deeper ones. Might try some cutting compound.
      Thanks for watching, speak soon.

    Hi Martin I used this but it is not that good. I used a compound paste. I'll send you a photo of it. It will remove that deeper scratch. Thanks Phil👍🙂

    I think Dan Trudjian once did a video on removing deep scratches on perspex windows.....might be worth seeking it out.

    I wonder if T cut would yield a similar result

    • @TheCaravanNut
      @TheCaravanNut  ปีที่แล้ว

      I might try it, have used T cut on watches to get rid of scratches before and works a treat. Will use T cut for metallic paint as it’s less abrasive. Cheers

  • @CaravanVlogger
    @CaravanVlogger 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Thats the problem isn't it, you don't want something too abrasive, as it itself might mark the plastic. Be interested in your research with the deeper scratches.

    • @TheCaravanNut
      @TheCaravanNut  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      knowing my luck I would end up with a hole in the window through rubbing too hard. Might try T-cut on it next.
      Thanks for watching, Graham

    100% guarantee those scratches don’t come out that quick… whats happening is the resin in the product is filling the minor marks and scratches giving you the appearance of them removed. Only way to remove scratches is with a proper cutting compound etc… if you wiped the glass after with a good ipa or panel wipe all the marks will reappear!… I corrected our windows with koch chemie compounds… think f6 gave the best results on a yellow Rupes pad and using a DA polisher. After that polish with a gentle polish like M2 on a white pad… 👍🏻

      Cheers for the info, will be trying some cutting stuff. 😊

      @@TheCaravanNut just always go steady on acrylic windows… they can be corrected/repaired just be careful of too much heat when working the product… too much can cause them to flex/bow or even crack 👍🏻
