+Etra Zombanya ウルトラ - アルバニー East Midland Trains don't have any Class 170 Turbostars. In the Video I was listing the companies who have run them in the past or are currently operating them.
@@TrainsTrainsTrains You should have made it clear that some of these companies used to operate them, as SWR has never had 170s, as SWT didn't have any when the franchise went over to FG/MTR, SWR has 158 and 159 instead
you have me forgot that there was another incident with the class 170 running for Glasgow Queen Street to Aberdeen when it derailed between Aberdeen and Dundee and that line has been closed down and replacement bus services are now taking over
Heard that the 170's coming to Northern will be doing the York-Harrogate-Leeds. A beautiful stretch of line with excellent scenery. This is great news, The old 153's 155's are well knackered!
ScotRail should keep the Class 170s as they are ideal on long distance commuter services and in the north of Scotland. And on the Borders Line (Edinburgh Waverley-Tweedbank).
They really aren't they are so uncomfortable now and a lot of them don't have chargers now so they aren't ideal for long distance travel but if they get upgraded then they would be ok but the 158s are still better
I’ve recently noticed that class 170-450 has an unusual logo on the unit, instead of the typical ScotRail logo it carries a logo that says MND Scotland.
What’s the best-looking livery on the class 170s in your opinion? I personally prefer the SPT Carmine and Cream livery back when ScotRail still had them in that livery.
Just a wee correction to your video I enjoyed it very good video but we are keeping 34 units, Northern are getting 16, and the rest is going back to the leading company :)
+Class 37025 Inverness tmd thanks I did speak to a few people and no one was 100% sure as it depends on the delivery of the Class 385 and Class 43 HSTs timescales.
Originally Scotrail were only going to be keeping 21 Class 170s. This has now changed to 34. They will also be used on the Aberdeen Crossrail and some other slower "All stops" services.
The 156 is noisey. The 158 makes as much noise as the 170 coz 170 is a bit loud but 195 is as loud as a Pacer but with nice squeel than the pacers when breaking
I like how the UK has futuristic and flashy trains and buses but most buildings are just old looking 😂😂 Edit: bye bye first i mean WORST great western you were the creation of first northwestern aka for nothingbutmoney
Hull trains don’t use 170s anymore. Midland mainline, Central Trains, London Midland and South West Trains don’t exist anymore. (Midland mainline and Central Trains didn’t exist and hull Trains didn’t have 170s when this video was released!). It is also worth noting that Transpennine Express has the 170/3s after SWT and they’re now all 168s with Chiltern.
Glasgow Life, correction: Hull Trains - 160's replaced by classes 222 & 180 Central Trains - now apart of Cross Country Midland Mainline - Now East Midlands Trains and class 160's replaced by HSTs and class 222 London Midland: City - now West MIdlands Trains Southern Railway - 160's renumbered and converted into class 171 units - 4 units transferred from Scotrail and also converted into class 171's South West Trains - now South Western Trains and class 160's aquired by Southern
Love them here in the Midlands. RIP London Midland though, they had a lovely livery on them.
And Midland Mainline
We have them for c2c trains in London
@@misterced4629 they’re different
My son loves riding the class 170 he said that they are quiet relaxing you could easily fall asleep and they don’t smell like an exhaust
I love the Class 170/171s I love their long gangway between each carriage and they're exhaust sounds.
I was riding a 170 from Edinburgh to Dundee and I looked up and I didn't know that we'd just entered a tunnel. They are so quiet and smooth.
Small correction is that the Midland Mainline company was split into East Midlands and CrossCountry, The 170 fleet they had went to the Latter

Recently, East Midlands Railway took over some ex-ScotRail units and they will took over all of West Midlands 170 units.
you have me forgot that there was another incident with the class 170 running for Glasgow Queen Street to Aberdeen when it derailed between Aberdeen and Dundee and that line has been closed down and replacement bus services are now taking over
Although built by different manufacturers. It puts me in the mind of Northern Ireland Railways Class 3000 and Class 4000 (Especially the latter).
Heard that the 170's coming to Northern will be doing the York-Harrogate-Leeds. A beautiful stretch of line with excellent scenery. This is great news, The old 153's 155's are well knackered!
Class 185 you mean 385s. Also they went to Northern and EMR
I know they were designed for semi-high speed mainline regional services stopping at quite a lot of stations
They are still on service as of May 2020

Great video very interesting I love trains
I was on one of these going between Doncaster and Sheffield. The Air Conditioning didn't work and neither did the toilets.
*oof*
7:42 385's not 185's

Who else has noticed that the class 170 and 171 units sound an awful lot like racing cars when they go past at speed?
Peter Downey not me but i like the sound of the class 323 and 175
Can you make one on the class 158s?
Yes we will look into that, I will start writing the script.
Trains TrainsTrains thank you
Why isn't there one for class 158s
Whoever liked thanks
trainnerd 5-m-t i was gonna say dat
Maybe a biodiesel class 168 will be and service

Will the borders railway be electrified?
If they all go, what will operate the borders railway
I travel on them all the time to
Edinburgh pretty good train for me
The Turbos in Plain Blue are going south to Southern
No EMR
Southern has 171s

They are 171s now

The class 185 emus? Did the 185s recive a heavy refurbishment removing their diesel engines? Cos I think the 185s are dmus.
i think they mean the class 385
CLASS156433 thats what i thought

Doomotron dude thats the same thing
The 170 has overground to
The overground use class 172/0's (soon to be replaced by class 710).
You forgot about the TPE 170 Turbostar
london overground operates the 170
Overground doesn't, they operate 172s
I think the East Anglia crash with tractor was signaller error. It meant the class 37s were hired.
don't u mean the class 385 the class 185 are diesel
well done u said 385 at the end
Hull Trains no longer use class 170s
+Mark Peacock Yes that is true but they were one of the original companies that used them along with Midland Mainline which no longer exists.
i did prefer the 170s that they leased of Anglia when they first started up
Peaks didnt hull only use the class 180??
Class 170 lack air conditioning hot day should be some open windows
They have Air Con, its just on hot days it sometimes struggles
the train class 82 for KTMB komuter train in Malaysia
the 185's are DMU's
