    Great tutorial in that you show multiple approaches. When you covered auto leveling in GIMP I expected and additional gaussian blur/smoothing operation to remove high frequency noise, but nope it wasn't necessary in this case. I can see this approach to make a novel lithophane. Vectric has a lot of value because of such a support base. Thank You!

    Thank you Edward! I've tried searching for these things before but didn't even know what they were called so I just looked at "grayscale" images. I love how you covered everything here in detail. Thank you very much! I'm feeling inspired to try this now. 😊

    Thank you for this excellent video. I have a question...the first topo model, the one shown starting :06 seconds into the introduction, what mountain is that? I am working on a large sculpture and that mountain in the upper portion of the screen shot is perfect. Thank you for your time.

    When trying to import a topotopo.io obj file is anyone getting an error message in aspire that says "Failed to load component data. Check file contains model".

    Great video. Tried to import .tiff file in VCarve Pro but it won't allow. Believe this information only applies to Aspire . Very unfortunate.

    • @vectric
      @vectric  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey donamoni, that is correct as this technique is essentially making a model you need the modeling tools to be able to do this which is apart of the Aspire feature set only. Thanks.

    Can you do the same auto leveling in photoshop? I have multiple images to do (action script)

    • @SouthernOregonCoast
      @SouthernOregonCoast 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes you can, create your custom (Levels- Auto) Action, save it and then Tools>Photoshop (run from Adobe Bridge)

      Hi Shawn, unfortunately it looks like they've took the site down I'm afraid. A google search might be able to help in finding a similar resource :) Sorry we couldn't be of any more help - Have a great day!

    Can you import a heightmap into vcarve pro?

    • @vectric
      @vectric  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello, and thanks for the question. Only if it is a STL, and most height maps are image files, so I would expect not... but again it depends on the file you are importing.

      @vectric  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Walter, have you tried the "Save 3D File" option in the lower right hand corner? Also make sure your window is maximized as the "Save 3D File" option seems to disappear when the window isn't fully open! I hope this helps! :)

      You can watch it at increased speed (Shift>)if it is too slow for your liking. I personally like the ability to get the details for a new process at a normal speed.
