I've just found your YT channel. I like this tip to use acetone to cold weld plastic parts together. It's like something that's already known (that acetone melts several plactics) but it's good that someone has tested it and shown how it works and how it might be done. :) I liked the 1541 Ultimate-II Ethernet video also.
That C64 is probably a different grade of plastic than the Joystick. There are hundreds of types of plastics with and without various filling agents and strengthening agents like fiberglass.
Did you ever put the 64 in a new 64C Case? I have the same issue with my case and those tabs but couldn’t confirm if my long board would fit in one of those new 64C cases. Great videos, hope you start up again soon.
You should immediately run water over this, especially if you are just using acetone NP remover (since most people don't have PV primer laying around) to stop the acetone. Over time this can melt the plastic all the way through. Maybe even some baking soda water once it sets. They are building nearly everything out of this grade of plastic these days. They should be using a high count fiberglass reinforced plastic for something like this. There is nothing worse than cheap plastic.
Found this channel... 10 seconds later - SUBBED! Awesome stuff
Brilliant use of Acetone. I've become a big fan of Sugru for these types of repairs, but this was an elegant solution.
Great tips!

E xD209 No, though I do have the case and some 3D printed pieces for fitting the breadbin keyboard. Hope to get back to doing videos soon!
I know this may of may not be the right place to ask this but where can I find a Commodore Monitor for a reasonable price?

Good idea! How long do you think the plastic should be submerged in the baking soda water for?
