I’m not really gonna argue about the whole Ned vs Jamie fight thing in the comments …😅 - Patreon has informed me and kindly let me know that Jamie was one of the best fighters at this time. I reacted how I reacted in the moment. I came in to let you guys know that I’m aware NOW of just how skilled he really was. Let’s remember I’m not gonna get everything “right” especially cause it’s my first watch. I do the best I can and will probably get things wrong. Just here for the journey and the storytelling. Looking forward for more! Thank you. Hope you do enjoy the reaction 🫶🏽
Don’t worry about it Caitlyn. It happens to all of us. It’s actually usually the fun parts of the GOT reactions 😂. I’m so excited for future episodes ❤
Most of the time the people who know that Jamie is a better swordsman than Ned are book fans. The show doesn't really make it obvious that Jamie is better than Ned but in the books the reader has so much more information available and we also get access to certain characters thoughts/perceptions.
Also, something you’ll only know from the books (hence not a spoiler) is that Ned is known for killing Sir Arthur Dayne (aka Sword of the Morning), who was one of Jamie’s idols, some time in the past, so Jamie has been looking to fight the person who took out one of the best known fighters in the seven kingdoms, which is why he seems almost thrilled to be fighting him. He’s been waiting for a good competitor and that get-back.
I appreciate it! Unfortunately i do feel like I needed to come on cause I knew someone could get upset at what I said. I won’t apologize for reacting how I reacted cause it was my genuine reaction. I came on to let y’all know that Patreon told me that I was wrong so I know NOW after the fact that Jamie would have won. Regardless I moved on from it and will continue to enjoy the show!
That's not true. Based on reputation he would have won. But because Ned is honorable he would have carried the fight straight. Jaime wouldn't have done that. And Ned was past his prime. Ned was more of a warrior than a trained fighter. @@CaitybTV
The beef between Jaime & Ned is so interesting, complex and longstanding - and more about other people than the two of them. Like, there was a reason that Jaime was pissed that someone stabbed Ned from behind.
In the World of Ice and Fire, (a history compendium of GRRM's), we learn, when Arya Stark had been assigned by Syrio Forel to catch every cat in the Red Keep, she had succeeded with catching all except for a mean one-eared black tomcat. She chases him halfway across the castle before she finally catches him, and kisses his forehead while he tries to claw her. It has been confirmed by George R.R. Martin that cat was Balerion, a kitten which had belonged to Princess Rhaenys Targaryen, the young daughter of Rheagar Targaryen and Elia Martel who was killed by the Mountain on the orders of Tywin Lannister. (More about that in upcoming episodes.) Rhaenys named him Balerion because, as a wee kitteh, he liked to pretend he was the great dragon, Balerion the Black Dread. After Rhaenys was killed in the Sack of King's Landing in 283 AC, he was abandoned and became the meanest stray in the Red Keep. By the time Arya caught him he was an old black Tomcat with one chewed and torn ear that him appear one-eared. He is filthy and foul-tempered, and has been known to attack ravens in the rookery of the Red Keep. The cat once stole a roast quail served to Tywin Lannister at a dinner with King Robert I Baratheon. He also once clawed Prince Joffrey Baratheon's hand....one of the reasons Joffrey enjoys skinning cats....that, and he's just a psychopath. This cool back story is, to me, indicative of George R.R. Martin's creativity and attention to detail in all his writing....I mean, how many authors would give a stray tomcat such a back story?
By your reaction today, the journey will certainly be filled with screams and I predict that microphone will swing a lot 😂 get ready gurl, it’s about to rock!

I don't know if you Patrons have told you, but I'm glad you noticed the change in the opening sequence. It changes with each episode, depending on the locations that will be explored, with the exception of The Wall and King's Landing, which they show in every opening, along with Winterfell. Hopefully your Patrons are recommending you to at least watch, but hopefully react to, the History and Lore for each season. It gives backstory on all the plot points covered and a few extra tidbits.
Tbf when I first watched GOT season 1, Jaime also didn't come off as a great fighter to me. So, I understand where you are coming from. I thought he was just a pretty boy who has a powerful family that put him on his position. Given, I wasn't really paying attention that much when I first watched it. Yeah... there are lot of things in the books about how bad-ass a fighter Jaime is. He was the youngest ever to be appointed to Kingsguard. If Selmy was a bit younger he'd whoop Jaime's ass... but now Selmy is an old man. Ned is a decent fighter... but he's better known as a commander. Ned does have a reputation for defeating Ser Arthur Dayne, the best swordsman in recent memory... which is one of the reasons Jaime wants to fight Ned so badly.
the books handled the Jaime/Ned confrontation better even though they never fought(two high born lords fighting in the street would be unlikely in this world, but it made for great TV..it took place at night, during a thunderstorm and the way Ned could see Jaimie white teeth when the lighting crashed was very foreboding

I can't wait to watch your reactions to the next episodes! If I'm not mistaken, Jaime is the second-best swordsman of this generation, losing only to Ser Barristan Selmy and in the books, he sees Loras Tyrell (the knight of the flowers, "boyfriend" of Robert's brother) as a version of his younger self, because he's really really good as well, almost as good as Jaime. Also, I love how you clocked Loras and Renly almost immediately LMFAO most people only notice that they're together after their scene.

Ned is one of the best swordsman in the realm wielding Ice (Valyrian Greatsword). He's in the same league as Ser Barristan Selmy, Arthur Dayne, Robert Baratheon (in his prime) and Rhaegar Targaryen. Jaime however is a really good kingsguard, so he's an awesome fighter too. But Ned fought way more battles than Jaime, so imo, Ned would've won that match if that guard did not interfere!

Well we had different perspectives and that’s okay! I came on to say “okay I was told differently” and was wrong in my thinking but still wish Ned would have won. I personally did not see anything in the story at this time that said and hinted at him being the 2nd best fighter. Nah Jaime would have killed Ned. He's a generational talent as a fighter, trained by the best, one of the youngest kingsgaurd and has good battle experience. In the books it's very clear that Ned is out-matched by Jaime.
Well to me, that fight between Jamie and Ned was pretty evenly matched so I’m not sure Jaime would have won. It could’ve gone either way, in my opinion.

Why are you explaining your reaction?? You dont NEED to do that. We enjoy watching your progression with the show. You take that away from us when you keep popping in with your future self. Let us enjoy your first reaction to everything, whether it's right or wrong. I hope that makes sense, smh.
YEEEESSSSSSSSS I LUVV THISSS
To add another wrinkle to the Ned vs Jaime fight: Ned beat & killed the #1 fighter (Ser Arthur Dayne) years ago during Roberts rebellion.
…. 🧐
Hummmm….. ah……
Well emmmmmm, you quit early?
@@alaina5958 I think it's a fun fact to know at this point in her journey.
@@bennybennyson1079 nope. I think it's a cool fact to know at this point. 😁
Baelish gives me the ick in a way that is almost personal. I hate his face tbh HAHSHAH
Middlefinger lied about the dagger being Tyrion's simply to sew chaos, because he sees chaos as a ladder to power and more money.
When you will post the new Attack on Titan episode? 😂
Please do not start rushing me 😅….i really hate comments like that. I’ll get it up when I can. You won’t have to wait too long. I just posted 2 episodes yesterday.
@@CaitybTV I was just asking...not trying to rush you. I asked because it's my fav show and i know you from your kpop reaction, the best reactions. I just got too excited.
Omg i can't hear you😭
Maybe refresh cause everything is working! :)
@@CaitybTV thank you 🥰
Love watching you ❤
You were right not to trust everything people said IMO. Sometimes people lie. Sometimes people exaggerate. You had every right not to believe Jamie was that good.
Ned was no slouch at sword play either, and maybe Jamie would have best him , but it wouldn't have been easy. Just enjoy the show -push forward .
Can you react to the K drama: Because this is my first life
Ned is actually one of the worst fighters in GoT history. He has never won a 1v1 in his life.
Where did you get that from?
That's hogwash. Ned wasn't the greatest swordsman, but he fought in many battles.
