When did this take place? The tech level of the humans here is around 18th century with some anomalies. No steam engines. Unreasonably good metallurgy and precision machining skills. rifles are flintlock, cannons are breech loaders. *Magic* gas used to to power the ODM gear and a few other things. How long does it take to build walls like that? THAT'S A REAL GOOD QUESTION. keep it in the back of your mind while watching the show. Ref questions in general. The show raises many *many* questions like that. And it does a brilliant job of answering almost all them by the end of the show. Sometimes it spells out the answer, sometimes you have to figure it out from relevant info you gather by watching. The rainbow bars moving up and down the side of the screen are an annoying distraction. Injuries. you can get knocked off a horse at high speed and take a lot of damage by hitting the ground and rolling around. 16:17 There's supposed to be English text on those mid-episodes info dumps. Look for a subtitles that says something like text with titles instead of dialogue only subs.

the thing about the Maginot Line during WW1 is that to go around it Germany had to invade Belgium, which had it's independence guaranteed by the British, which is how the UK got into the war, so while the line didn't defend France against Germany it did ensure the UK was on their side as for WW2 well Belgium didn't want a repeat of ww1 so they kept playing both sides, saying they would have the Maginot line extended through their country to appease the French but never committed to doing it so they don't piss off the Germans
Belgium had there own formidable defense line. What they didn't have was formidable defenders manning their fortresses. Germans landed gliders on top of Eben Emael, used shaped charges (for the first time in a war) to blow open the door on top and the defenders folded with little fight.
Managed to catch the streams for this, will definitely be rewatching these though so I can get clips of Myles saying he hates Levi for when he inevitably loves him!!
