A kidney stone fairy actually sounds like a really good way to explain to little kids what they are, in a way a little kid could understand. That way there not scared when they see there loved ones in the hospital in pain and aren't freaking out

I've kinda been trough the situation similar to the elder not recognizing her son.
Backstory for context, my grandmother got a very nasty blood infection from a rat bite ... even the doctors told us it's a 1 in a 1.000 change of survival but she made it and is very healthy til this day.
About one year after she recovered my Great Grandmother who was close to her deathbed randomly started saying that she isn't her daughter but a replacement so she doesn't feel bad.
She constanly asked us to take her to her daughters grave to see her , refused to talk and even accept food from her (but when her granddaughter , my mother, gave her the exact same plate she ate it with no issues.).
Maybe dementia took over since she was close to her deathbed, or maybe she had such a vivid dream she taught it was 100% real.
After a short time she had a pacefull death in her bed surrounded by her loved ones at the age of 90 .... and on a more creepy story the night before her death in her final words she kept repeating "when the rooster crows" over and over ..... that very morning less than 10 seconds after we heard the rooster crow she passed away.
There's another thing I find sad about dementia: One of my grandmothers was known by everyone as the evil witch, but in her last days, she reverted back to a sweet little girl. She was such a horrible person, but brain damage fixed it! Just imagine what must have happened in her life that she couldn't fix herself for so many decades... Also, seeing how little it takes to completely change someone, is soul-crushing, or rather good evidence that there's nothing like a soul...
The death of my other grandmother was not better. She became immobile but had moments where she just stood up and tried to go after her former daily routines, and in her attempt to cook she nearly burnt everything down... Then, she suddenly switched to a language we couldn't understand. Most of us were even surprised that she did know another language. Her husband spoke some Russian and thus knew that it must be some Slavic language, but he couldn't understand her. She said the same words over and over again. Since her health deteriorated, we put her into the hospital and we asked a neighbor to come over and listen to her if he could decipher it. He could. It was Slovenian, I believe. He told us that the words that she kept saying for the past days were: O God, please make it stop! It hurts so much!
We reported this to the hospital staff and they did some tests and concluded that she didn't suffer any pain, other than whatever she was hallucinating. That didn't stop her uttering those words endlessly though. Some of us were clearly tempted to put a pillow on her face, but fortunately, she soon expired on her own...
Not sure why some form of insanity makes you think souls don’t exist though, that doesn’t make much sense.
Kidney stones is not only painful, it can lead to embarrassing accidents as well (even bleeding).
That is how it went with me.

Hey dr. Wagner, the baby scene reminds me of what my mom told me. When I was born I wasn’t crying. It turns out I wasn’t breathing properly but thanks to the doctor I was fine. Since birth I’ve dealt with severe asthma, but don’t worry because I’ve learned to control it. Sorry for the long comment.
He's gotta do another one. It doesn't even need to be like hospital based. It can be the vicious injuries they show off. The magnet man is still one of my favorite bits of all time.
FUN FACT! I once was suffering from Kidney Stones, but was also taking anti-depressants. I wound up at the small town local hospital/ER, and they sent me hope. I suddenly one day just "threw up" out of nowhere. I was washing dishes and suddenly "Whoa, what, pain? BARF!" and then I said "Hey, I am going to go to the doctors office." and drove myself there. When they said it'd be an hour or so, I went into the waiting room. I wasn't trying to play or ham anything up, but as the pain built over time, a woman came in (as best I remember) and said "Sir, you're clutching and crying... do you need the ER?" and I said "No no, I just need to see my doctor." and after a few more minutes of sobbing my eyes out and dying in their waiting room, they rushed me to the ER.
Now, I can't say the specifics because I am too stupid to remember, but basically, one of the anti-depressants I was on was BLOCKING one of the major PAIN KILLERS I was on that was supposed to help me skirt the kidney stone pain, and the two conflicted, but MY PERSONAL DOCTOR didn't know that my ER DOCTOR had prescribed, and after a surgery to remove a huge kidney stone... they both realized... :D

My elderly cat passed away this morning and she turned 16 today, we had to bury her and at least her suffering is finally over.

I remember when my grandmother had Dementia in her mid 80s; they asked the family to come to the house to visit her and she called all of my cousin's and myself by our parents name. I was like well at least she knows who we look like.

I suffered a hip/back injury from an explosion in the middle east over a decade ago. In that time I've had kidney stones several times and at least in the heat of the moment, I think the stones hurt worse xD

KIDNEY STONE WHAT?
About blood thinners, they don't go well with hyperactive small dogs. My grandfather had to wear long clothing in very hot weather because of this. Even once just a single scratch caused him to bleed a lot.
Doc, you ever do something "off" for Halloween around the office? Not to your patients perhaps, but you ever think of wearing that head-mirror, and coming in with a jar full of leaches?

Another great tip for constipation move your legs up, either you could place your feet on a small stool or even on the toilet, so that your rectum can straighten out, because when you are sitting regularly it gets crunched slightly making it harder for poop come out by itself. I have IBS and when it gets bad, this helps most of the time.

The last time I saw a doctor with the mirror with the hole in the center was when I went to have my wisdom teeth removed. When I went for an initial consultation the doctor had one of those and actually used it, I'm assuming to see in my mouth better or what not. Anyway, that was about 1998.
Dr. Wagner, I have something you could react to. The Wilkins Coffee Commercials have some medical type scenes and injuries between the muppet characters Wilkins and Wontkins. 7:00 I experienced that, my grandfather passed away in 2019 and he had Alzheimer's in his last few years. He lived on the other side of the country so I didn't see him often, I had seen him the summer before (I was told by the family he wasn't doing well) and it took him a while to remember who I am, that he has a grandson etc. We had our issues over the years so that was pretty hard....😔. Moral of the story: Keep your family close. Not worth holding grudges until it's too late.
