Guitar player, 45+ years (I'm 63). This is the best version of the song IMO. The "other guys" don't play that little hammer on bit which is clearly on the Clapton version. Not that you need my approval, but I think you got it! Thank you. I'll have to give this a whirl a little later this afternoon. Thanks again.
Finally Mr. Andrews!!!!! I have been waiting over ten years for someone to come out with a lesson faithful to the way EC plays it. Many have come close but no one has got it right until now-especially that incredible rhythmic strumming. You capture it bang on!! Looking forward to learning it. Cheers! 👍👍
Hello again Jake! Dig your lessons man, your Roadhouse Blues lesson is by far the best one to that song so when I saw this pop up in my feed I was pretty happy to see it! Aside from it just being another great classic rock tune…..thanks so much 🤙
On a side note, you literally do the entire song which is sort of rare. Most guys just show you a chunk of the song. You and a small handful of other guys do the entire song, really appreciate it! ~
Could you teach "Anyday" by Derek and the Dominos? There's some great guitar playing in that song by Duane Allman and Eric. Also, i like the 1989 version of "After Midnight " that was used alot during that era for Michelob beer commercials.
Thanks Jake for this. Just trying to understand the music theory behind this. Is this in C major and Parallel C minor? as you are playing the D#/Eb chord in the progression? Thankyou.
That's correct-it is a mix of major/minor pentatonic in the leads. The chords are major, but the structure is a 1-b3-4, which is a common rock chord progression. Thanks Rajesh!
Well, I don't what to say. That's one way of playing this song, but certainly not the way JJ Cale played it, and not even Eric Clapton played it. The tempo is too fast, and there isn't a groove set up or intro licks.
Is the Clapton+ winwood in Madison square garden version I think. And also think that it is cool too have a different version that almost certainly wasn't already covered a million times like the original jj cale + clapton

This is a fantastic lesson thank you. Are you using pedals for the tone or just your amp?
Thanks James! I'm going directly into my old '59 Fender Princeton amp.
👍👍 i would give you more thumbs up but i only have 2 hands ...a new song for me to learn very much appreciated!
That's great! Thanks:)

JJ Cale plays it in the Key of A with a completely different Tempo, in the style of Oklahoma Country Blues
@@DMac-ks6fi is that the key of A 4 alcohol or did he do it in the key of C 4 cannabinol . JJ was responsible for some smoking songs 😂❤
